A PtD collaboration with local, spoken word poet, Ade Brown, who encouraged our schools' programme students, from Kettering Science Academy, to write by sharing about his own dyslexia and challenges growing up and his 'if I can do it, you can!' attitude. He reminded us that poetry is about the everyday 'sharing a bag of chips on a park bench in the rain' - writing about what you see all around you as well as using your imagination. In ones and twos, students got to think about our theme 'the ripple effect' and what it meant to them - the words and voices are all theirs! There's a strong community and environmental theme that seems to emerge which is encouraging and reflects the underwater recycling art installation we created with them. A great day and a great result. Music by Henry Harwood and edited by Gabriel Halford - excellent work.
