There's a lot of kids named after him in my hometown. Ronaldinho Gaúcho was more an attacking player than a real midfielder. Ronaldinho was a "malabarista", a trickster. Riquelme was the true Maestro. In a proper system (4-3-1-2), he could break your defensive system and nervous system dictating the tempo of the game. Maybe i will see another players like Cristiano Ronaldo and even Lionel Messi in the future, but certainly not like Juan Roman Riquelme.

This performance was very similar to Zinedine Zidane's vs Brasíl in Germany in 2006. The way Zizou controlled the middle of the field was like a puppet master on that day and he and Riquelme even had the same "juggling the ball as an opponent looked up to see where the ball went" move. I think that Zidane & Riquelme are more alike than another other players are like one or the other. Zidane reached greater heights, but the style, pace, tricks, positioning... so similar.

Ganhar a seleção Argentina de 2002 era incrível como a Brasileira de 1982 e não ganharam e o pior a de 2002 Bielsa não levou Riquelme.
