Brittany Rael To live our lives happy & free It must not be of the world. Although it will be for a short time. Put your trust in the lord to get u through. He is a God that keeps his word . He removes us from the world when he knows we r ready and he sets us in a seat not as high as the angels in heaven. Yet the seat feels as if we r those angels in the heavenly clouds.we r left until it is time to be called home to his home in the clouds. This song is amazing in how well it conveys the silent anger and frustration of that horrible situation. Daniel Cretu In the context of the musical Spring Awakening, it's about 2 girls who are in an abusive relationship. Martha, who is abused by her father at home and frequently beaten. Ilse, who escaped an abusive home (it's unspecified but implied it was her father) and now lives in an artist colony but in not much better conditions. Overall, it addresses the abuse, which is implied to be physical as well as sexual abuse/rape.

Hmm. The music and the singing are good but the lyrics are difficult at points to actually _sing_ . The artist is struggling.

She is struggling to move from word to word smoothly. The chosen words lack poetic meter so they are difficult to sing. The singer is talented and the instrumentals are excellent as well, but the lyrics are badly written. Song writing isn't as easy as people think. The concepts are there and appropriate just not coming off right. I'm a sound engineer and musician.

Richard Robertson the song itself is amazing, and the lyrics are also good. They are incredibly artistic and convey their message excellently. However, the song and the lyrics together are a little off. But it sort of works with the theme of the song, it's supposed to be rough and dark and hard, it's a song that details abuse

Richard Robertson Yeah, as a musician (not as qualified but it makes you more acutely aware of little musicality things) I hear it, but it makes sense musically so it doesn't bother me. If you want, there are a lot of other versions of this song and they all more or less sound similar in how it's sung to this, so it's not just this recording.
