This was what I posted early this morning as I reflected on him on his WARNING: THIS IS A LONG TRIBUTE TO MY DAD FOR HIS BIRTHDAY TODAY!!!! My Best Friend is Gone! I can’t believe my best friend is gone, no longer present, departed, away, absent, completed, expired and unavailable in this life! He was the only someone in the world who really understood me ‘cause I’m a piece of work, trust me! He saw my flaws yet looked beyond them and helped make me the person I am today. I remember him saying: “You were my most difficult project but my greatest achievement at the same time but, Lord please don’t send me another project like this one ‘cause this one wore me out!” Though he was my father, he was also my life coach, my pastor, ride or die, partner-in-crime 🤣 and yes, I’ve even made the mistake of calling him my girlfriend.😂 He was ok with that because he was so confident in who he was as a man of God that he understood that I needed a girlfriend at that time and was willing to be that for me. But, how do you go on comfortably without your sidekick? How do you go on without that person who pushes you when you don’t feel like pushing yourself? My best friend is gone. My heart aches. I often wake up crying. I still gasp for breath. My mind knows that a part of my happiness is missing. I feel so alone. No one really gets me! They misinterpret my tenacity as arrogance; my confidence for pride; my daily self care as conceit, egotism, and haughtiness. They think I love to hear myself talk when I look at a movie and automatically begin to preach and give insights and revelations. But they don’t know I use to think I was ugly, imperfect and worthless because I was rejected, put out, discarded but You told me God made me beautiful. You rebuked me because you said I didn’t have a scar on my body. You said,”70 percent of your body was burned at 5 years old and You’ve been called everything imaginable and you still said I’M PRETTY!” They don’t know the many days you corrected me for having my shoulders slumped over because I was ashamed and didn’t think I was attractive enough to be confident. They are clueless of the hours it took to correct me for being young and silly only looking at television for entertainment purposes only. Now, I’m asked how I can spend hours reading and in the WORD? Because my best friend showed me how to make it in this world without him! He would often say; “I’m preaching myself out of a job!” You taught me that Jesus would be a friend that would never leave or forsake me and that I should always keep him first place in my life and that if I wanted to hang with you, I’d have to love what you loved and that was the WORD! You taught me that having a calling on my life to preach the gospel was serious business. You said always have a word in your belly and that I was to always stay in the right spiritual climate that the prophetic would stay on “BUBBLE” and to be so one with the Holy Spirit that people couldn’t recognize weather the Holy Spirit was using me or I was using the Holy Spirit. Even though my best friend is gone, His memory yet sustains me and encourages me to finish my course with joy and do it with tenacity, confidence, well dressed preaching and teaching with insight and revelation. Thank you forever for the gift of your friendship and tutelage. It will last a lifetime and continue to point me in the right direction. Happy Heavenly Birthday Dad, I miss you, YOU WILL ALWAYS REMAIN MY BEST FRIEND! LOVE YOU MUCHLY❤️💜💙💚🧡💛
