Another fantastic presentation.Videocon expanded into UNRELATED BUSINESSES too fast & in the process,taking too much debt,ditto with many upstarts like Biyani etc.Many business houses did the same mistake,neglecting their CORE COMPETENCY & thus bringing down the curtain of their carefully built businesses.A case study for the future/ budding business houses.Our banks PSU banks succuub to these greedy businessmen at the cost tax payers.

They had excellent washing machine and people used them for 10 to 15 years without any problem. They had Bajaj agency in Aurangabad and had the most beautiful show room "RAGHUVANSH" on Adalat Road in Aurangabad in 70s. The family always believed in simple living and all Venugopal, Rajkumar used to move on scooter those days. The family was proud of Aurangabad and many used to watch them on scooter like common man in early 70s in Aurangabad. Their father unfortunately died in air crash at Aurangabad. Perhaps they went too fast in other areas in which they were not expert and had to depend on several unknown risks. In light of huge losses and several court cases it is difficult to come out easily and fast but if they again struggle like in 70s may be there is some chance to revive the whole business.

As we are dealing in Consumer Durables since 81 and started business with ONIDA.. In 1984..in 1985 Videocon Entred Market with full force in Pabjab.. We gave one Lakhs cheque to then Videocons Manager Mr. Oardeep Tognotta. He was so honest and strait forward he said as Inida will came to know you have share in Videocins new shop..ONIDA will immediately cancell your dealer ship. Later we and one known dealer from Ludhiana took our cheques back from Videocon.. Incidently Sh Pardeep Tignitta is senior vice President Marketing in Samsung India.

Had got a 29 inch videocon bazoomba in 2006.it was priced very well such that it was cheaper than a 25 inch LG.BUT DIDN'T WORK WELL.BROKE DOWN AT REGULAR INTERVALS.ALSO WHEN THE technician opened the TV SOME PART WAS OF THOMSON

Videocon has been defaulting on QUALITY AND SERVICE since mid 90s. I had a Videocon portable cooler/heater in Delhi. Imagin this device had to be sent to AURANGABAD for servicing???!!! Kept me waiting months. I decided never to trust VideoCON again. There were other Indian companies like WESTON making TVs. Most failed. The PRIME REASON is that most Indian companies DON'T DO OR TRUST PROPER MARKET RESEARCH. TATA is one such company too. It owns TCS...largest market research company...yet Tata mostly failed in CARS...INDICA, NANO. TATA trusts its managers more then its workers...key mistake. Tata damn cares for research. TATA SALT is PURE POISON...81 micro nutrients removed and sold, only 3 nutrients remain. This KACHRA is then coated with dangerous ALUMINIUM. IODINE evaporates from hot Indian food...and not even required to be added. Many other poison additives. Another failure is ESCORTS. It is family dominated. Ford left it. MAHINDRA is beating ESCORTS in tractors. I have done research project for ESCORTS...so know the inside story. You may see more and more Indian companies fail when they compete with MNCs. Indian companies mostly are not futuristic thinking and lack FAST AND FURIOUS thinking. TATA now has problem finding his successor...the list is endless. HMT is one more such casualty. HCL made the software for that Boing Max that crashed and since all Max planes grounded. INFOSYS boss Narayan Murthy did VISA FRAUD in the USA. Fined 25 million USD. VISA RULES for Indians got tougher because of this greedy guy! The song most such companies sing is: You can fool all people for sometime, or some people for all time...AND THAT IS ENOUGH TO MAKE A KILLING!

Good analysis. The learning is - It’s not to be No1 , what’s the value addition to your product or customers. More so keep an eye on Debt service coverage ratio. Indiscriminate borrowing at high interest is detrimental . Pay back should be with in 36 months or earlier !

Videocon was in debt since long . May be tons more than what Vijay Malaya owes…. For sure the company went in losses but not the owners . The money has been for sure moved out of india & is whr the owners wanted it to be . Are all the Videocon family members in India or abroad? Was anyone a minister in India from the Videocon family hence this news & arrest took place so late ? Many vendors , employee salaries, bank payments still pending by Videocon & what we heard is only Vijay Malaya stories whos figure may be very little compared to Videocon .. Why was Videocon left till date ? ?????????????????

Actually may kisi bhi business ki age 20 say 25 sal hi hoti hai. Phir wo business apne aap finish honey lagta hai. Jis business ka jitna jyada advertisement hoga. Wo approximately 20 sal bad utna jaldi khatam hoga. Reliance, Tata, baidyanath. Microsoft. Eis liye chal rahe hai kyoki inka koi ad nai hai. Agar hai bhi toh bahut kam. Aisa kyo hota hai ye mujhe kisiney 2 sal pahle bataya tha. Beleive me mainey 100 say zyada example dekh liye.

Agreed bro most people don't think that uski companies par huge debt hain , uska pesa nahi banks ka pesa hain jo political connections se mil raha aur pehcle kuch saalo mein paglo ki tarah har business mein aa raha atleast 100 200 alag sectors mein uska reliance Ambani ki tarah koi ek cheez pe hold nahi hain hr cheez try kr raha phir London bhag jayega , UK ka prime Minister modi se pehle usse milne aaya pichle hfte .
