For one Rey was easily more powerful than Obi. Regardless of training. That's a fact no matter how much you, and i dislike it. Yoda was literally a complete dick head to Anakin, and told him to just forget about the visions of Padme's death because death was a natural part of the force. So healing was probably not on the curriculum of the prequel Jedi since it literally goes against what they thought was the will of the force. Star Wars Theory Yeah, if I remember right, Obi Wan was actually really weak in the force, but basically trained through it. I don’t know if that’s legends or if it carried over to canon though. IceCoolingK well, a number of factors could’ve played into it. Getting all of them to shoot together, aging, didn’t wanna steal the scene from Rey too much (it was the climax of the movie after all), and Ahsoka and Kanan are animated characters who would’ve required live action actors to be cast. It’s not like it wasn’t doable, but it was probably perceived as more trouble than it was worth.

Or maybe it's always been a part of the way of the light. Healing and saving others from death. Assuming that healing power was rare and only about to be learned by a few, we can probably also assume Anakin could have learned it if he had a teacher. This is exactly what Palpatine exploited in order to turn Anakin. Palpatine knew that the right Jedi could bring others back, and yet told Anakin the exact opposite. Looking back on it, that whole scene creates even more of a tragic fall for Anakin as you realize the power was there all along, and he had just been decieved.

First of all Anakins mum could not been healed since Anakin was a padawan and had no knowledge of high force techniques, same goes for Obi wan when it came to Qui gon (should be logical and nothing to complain about actually) Rey had books from the Jedi Knights and was trained by Leia who was trained by Luke so it’s clear why she could do it since she was no traditional padawan and same goes for Ben since he was likes best student! And when it comes to Jedi ; who should the other heal? Ask Galia died next to Obi wan and how should he heal her when being attacked by two Sith Lords? Same goes for any Jedi killed in the clone wars since there was no time to heal during a fight. Also we can see that Rey said „I transferred some of my life force into him“ when she healed the monster , by a *SMALL* wound. Then she gave kylo a would and healed it ; TAKE A LOOK AT HIS WOUND ; he wouldn’t have died that easily same when you get a shot trough and trough by the place it got him. So it makes sense that’s he healed him, but when kylo healed a DEAD Rey who couldn’t become a force ghost since her training wasn’t complete(which you can see she never build her own lightsaber till the very end) Kylo healed a dead person by putting ALL of HIS LIFEFORCE into her so it was clear that he was gonna Die. Stop being so dramatic! The film was completely fine and better that 1,2 and eight!

Well There was alot of forbidden stuff that Jedi were not allowed to even do in the Prequel era so it's pretty reasonable to think abilities like these were either lost or forbidden, Rey read Ancient Jedi texts from an ancient Jedi temple not from anything during the Prequel time. So Obi Wan may have not known of this power and Anakin couldn't have since he Ultimately went to the Darkside. Jedi I think can give life but Sith can take life

In the sequels on the other hand, made luke a sociapath who spent years in an island with no process and instead became worse than any of the jedi. Kylo ren is so popular because even though it doesn't make sense for Luke to kill him, it makes sense for kylo to react the way he did, basically his whole story arc is surprisingly natural opposed to the rest of the group.

Susie Augurusa agreed man this entire sequel trilogy is shit. The idea and concept of it is pretty good but the way the did it is shit. It makes no sense that Rey can force heal all of a sudden just by swinging a saber around but obi wan or Luke or Anakin or anyone else can’t

You're taking things out of context and misreading. He didn't say he's permanently intangible. He said he can't intervene specifically in his fight with Vader and likely because the death star II was filled with dark side energy. After all, It is a giant genocidal war machine created and used by two very powerful sith lords. Remember obi wan takes a seat on a log on dagobah. If he couldn't physically interact with anything his ass would've sunk through the log. And the point of becoming a force ghost is that death loses its permanence yes. Obi Wan literally says he'll become more powerful than Vader could possible imagine once he's struck down. I think the only limitation is that you're limited to where you can appear. Dark side infested places are likely a no go most of the time.

to be honest there are so many issues like this. just rewatched the clone wars, and there are so many episodes where a simple force pull/push could have avoided a whole bunch of mess. like the episode with the Blue Shadow Virus, dude throws a veil of the stuff up in the air so Anakin would have to chose between saving the veil or going after the doctor. a simple force pull on the veil? no he jumps after it like a human pleeb with no powers. just one of many times where it seems like they forgot the force was a thing. or, "oh no trapped by droids" "what do we do" *me. Force healing doesn't bring back the dead, it enhances the natural healing of the person. Bringing people back from the dead, stealing and transferring life force, is a dark side power. Rey barely uses the force healing power. She is using a dark side power. Something she was never shown to do previously. Secondly both were a very very high level technique. Rey just being able to do it, is mary sue.

B More The explanation for Rey being so naturally talented (and lucky, possibly) is because she's the granddaughter of Palpatine. The reason Ben is barely stronger could be down to a couple of things: 1) Anakin's ultra-high Midichlorian count was lost in Ben by reproduction with non-force users (Padmé and Han) whereas Palpatine may have reproduced with another strong force user and his child the same. (Just a possibility) 2) Anakin was young and not nearly at his most powerful when his children were born. Though unlikely, this could be an explanation.

You have to remember there were things about the force the council were hiding from Anakin because they feared what he would become. Maybe force heal was one of those things in order to train him to let go of everything he feared to loose. Palpatine worked on this angle to turn him unknowing to the Jedi, basically they destroyed themselves by doing this.

There's also Cade Skywalker's Dark Transfer, which can be used with both the Light and the Dark side, as a way of force healing. But then again Cade is part of Legends so I guess he doesn't count

From the canon sources, Bane gets conjured from his remains, I assume the other Sith Warriors did too, Mother Talzin possesses an obelisk, other dead Nightsisters possess other obelisks, Lord Momin possessed his own helmet, now Palpatine possesses his own cloned body. At least they're consistent with Lightsiders being able to become regular free-roaming ghosts.

It has not at all been proven that baby yoda has no training. Its been assumed that. The kid is 50 frickin years old. Itsbhad plenty of time on its own to reach its hand out and try things. Aside from the possibility it was even just in the presence of a force user let alone one that may teach him how to wield it. Its just an extension of a baby mimicking what it sees.

I don't think it diminishes Anakin's sacrifice. The old cannon had Palpatine return and like 3 different Sith orders, witht eh Lost Tribe, Luminya's Sith, and Darth Krayt's Sith. Anakin did bring back balance to the Force; he stopped Palpatine from killing Luke, thus saving the Jedi Order and the light side of the force. How Palpatine survived is still up in the air, but iirc, in Ep. 3 Palpatine tells Anakin he hadn't fully learned Plaguies' powers so that infers he's learned some powers, which may be why we see him so deformed, rotten, and hooked up to a massive life support system. Perhaps he did die but was able to take over a body, perhaps he died but was brought back to life with the limited knowledge of Plageuies' powers. What matters is that Anakin saved Luke and prevented the destruction of the light side so he did fulfill the prophecy

I still don't know what they were (haven't read comics or novels). If they were Dark Jedi, sure it would have made sense if they had sabers. But the movies never really explain what they are and what their purpose is (other than to possibly sell toys, like Phasma).

Luke trained for about the same amount of time on Tatooine as Rey did on Acht to. She could lift a mountain easily with that much training. A year later, Luke struggled to force pull a lightsaber, whereas Rey could do that with no training already. Luke was the chosen ones son, and Rey wasn't even palatines grandaughter at that point. She is way too overpowered.

What indication do we have that a lot of Jedi would know it? If anything the prequel trilogy shows us none did. Maybe they even outlawed it for being too prone to inspire attachment or something, unwillingness to accept death and harm, too imbalanced, too much like a Sith ability. The prequel Jedi were pretty wack. Even Obi wan and Yoda were assassinating fools and commanding battalions and stuff, only for Yoda to say the force should only be used for defense and knowledge.

They make it clear that Obi-Wan was already basically on the level of a Jedi Knight and ready for the trials by the end of the Episode 1, and he had far more training than Rey, and it was back in the full prime of the Jedi with tons of force knowledge being spread around and taught, so yea, I agree with you that's not debunked at all. Qui-Gon even says as he's dying that he has nothing left to teach him. Weak argument from Star Wars Theory right there. And literally no one taught Rey nor Kylo how to force heal either -- they didn't know "the power" either -- yet they still used it regardless, lol. This is why they should have never overly relied on force healing. It just messes with overall consistency and the stakes of a story.

If it comes from the texts, which Luke rediscovered on the other planets at the other temples he went to, then it could very well be a lost ability to the Jedi. As for baby Yoda, the Force manifests in different ways for those untrained, almost like magic in Harry Potter, it just shows up. Some have an aptitude for using it a certain way, others may just know they have a gift and try to experiment with it before any training. We just don’t know, so saying it isn’t debunked is as equally disingenuous as SWT claiming it is in any way.

Qui-Gon living or dying is technically what decides if Anakin will join the dark side, or stay on the light.

He would’ve taught Obi-Wan force heal if he didn’t die. He also would’ve trained Anakin, then Anakin wouldn’t have turned to the dark side, Palp’s plan would’ve failed, and the galaxy would probably be saved forever. So in a way Darth Maul is one of the most important Star Wars characters.

Ben Fajardo it had to be a love confession they set it up throughout the trilogy. In TFA he asks if she has a boyfriend, in TLJ Rey looks jealous at the end when Rose kisses Finn and in the TROS he now says there is something I got to tell you. It baffles me that they didn’t let him do it like the whole thing wouldn’t have taken more than another 5-10 minutes of screen time.

ThirdEngr its very possible that these abilities, both healing a force ghost, were lost do the Jedi of the old republic until Qui gon refound them. After which he would have been able to teach obi wan, Who could have taught Luke, Who could have taught Leia, who taught Rey. In terms of Vader and Kylo using force ghost, we know obi wan taught anakin after he came back to the light before he had become one with the force after death. The same could have happened for Kylo. After observing force healing from Rey, it’s also possible Kylo could have figured it out after also coming back to the light.

Force heal is a special power that only a few force users have. Kind of like the ability to touch an object and see it's past

After the steaming pile of trash that TLJ was, I think ROS was about as good as we could get. But I had really low expectations going in.

The bits I am getting... I would be in a rage for six months, because of the terrible writing. And all of this is simple: Ignore all the Disney stuff altogether. I know people are loving The Mandolorian, and that is fine. Not dictating what to watch here. As long as it doesn't impact the previous six films, it should be fine, any way. The Sequel Trilogy will not stand the test of time.

It was so bad. And I don’t expect it to be good but I still went in with some hope and right from the title crawl it hit me. “The dead rise.” The whole thing was stupid. Maybe if they’d actually had the force ghosts of all the Jedi shielding Rey from palpatine like was supposedly supposed to happen that line wouldn’t have bothered me so much. Palpatine barely returned and the key to beating him was a second lightsaber... one second he’s powerful enough to take on a horde of rebel ships and render Kylo and Rey motionless. The next he’s beaten by one Jedi holding a second lightsaber to deflect his own lightening. Something that’s already happened to him before and you think he’d have learned from... the movie lacked any emotion. Too much was spent on writing around Carrie Fisher and rian Johnson for their to be a real story. I get that they were written into a corner but come on.. just so bad.

My take on it is palpatine took her life force and put it into Vader and that’s also how palps knows she died

I can see where he may have wanted to die or felt it was inevitable and was ready to let go of his Life Force. *Saving his son was the selfless act that ended the Sith Reign. He remains the Chosen One.* Having compassion, empathy, and understanding consideration for another's point of view goes a long way. The thing that makes the most sense to me about Force Healing being both light and dark-side abilities; Sidious used that power to keep Anakin alive with Padme's life. The difference - what makes what he did a dark-side power is, he took her Life Force to help Anakin. It was a selfish act. - It is confirmed Sidious is a culmination of the Sith Lords that came before him. It is possible the knowledge and abilities he has within him were passed on to Rey. - It is also possible that Rey could've read about the ability in the Ancient Jedi Texts. I have a theory Ben rejecting the light within him - the Skywalker light - was an act, kind of like Sidious influencing midichlorians to create Anakin. An answer or response from the Force: His light was sent to his other half. When she found him, he would recognize who she was, (almost as if he was told this prophecy), as claimed by Snoke: "Darkness rises and light to meet it." She didn't have to be a Palpatine to become great. - Yet Ben still had his father's heart - his light. He tried to kill it - kill the past - for what he thought his grandfather started...to reign - the influence of Snoke - Sidious's puppet. Killing him didn't split his soul. It cracked the wall around his heart. Killing Snoke made Sidious think he was worthy of becoming an apprentice - a pawn, not worthy of taking over like he offered Rey. Their connection held a further purpose throughout her life until her awakening in the Force. She purposefully did things to train her body and mind to learn what she needed to know to become a Jedi without knowing. When she found him, he unlocked all that training in her mind. She knew of the Jedi and their abilities unlike Luke: "I don't believe it." Yoda: And that is why you fail. Anakin - who had to be trained and still never let go of his selfish influence - fear of losing the ones he loved. He was selfless because he was the Chosen One but he also saw that it was possible he could be freed if he won the pod race - selfish because he didn't think about having to leave his mother behind. He thought he could come back and free her, and did, albeit too late, and not from what he thought he would free her from. Luke catching the saber: I've seen and heard a lot of comments about how the first TLJ scene referenced in the movie (I think it was the last third) - when Luke tosses Anakin's lightsaber over his shoulder, then people say [this] was a jab at Rian. The way I interpreted it was showing how much influence, clouded judgment, and manipulation Sidious had on the Jedi - even, and especially Luke. He did this thing so subtly it wasn't apparent, even to Yoda and to cause him not to act on knowing about Order 66. Yes, Yoda knew about the order before it happened and did nothing as if it was a part of the prophecy - that the trade-off was for the Jedi to end as well as the Sith. I have been...every voice you have ever heard...inside your head! I loved that aspect of it. I'm sure not everyone will, or may even reject it. The scene with Kylo and Rey fighting between where they were respectively in the ship and on Kijimi was done perfectly enough; it works for me. The relationship between Kylo and Rey after she heals him was a pure connection, winks & nods; no cringy dialogue. *"I would've taken your hand; Ben's hand."* Han: I know. Ben: I know what I have to do. Sabers; I knew we'd see red, blue, green and I was hoping for yellow. Dark Rey was so much better than just a vision but it was just a vision. Rey standing before the Sith crowd felt like she was tempted a little bit with them cheering for her. Palpatine: the Force Life suck thing is what he did to Padme to keep Anakin alive. *Overall, I loved the full arch of Star Wars - the Skywalker Saga.* It began with Anakin finding a way to save the ones he loves. It caused his fall - what Sidious's influence on him had was that he could have it all, hugely driven by the Jedi and their views of the Chosen One and how Anakin wasn't filling those shoes in so many ways he was never allowed the rank of Master Jedi. What he is seeking is essentially his downfall and even used against his favor. Then he realizes his son is willing to die rather than become what he has and destroys the Sith - Sidious himself says he has died before. He was brought back to life. Anakin's selfish love turns to unconditional for Luke and Leia and he turned the tides. Everything that happens to Ben - even his transition to Kylo Ren drives his purpose. I feel like when he was about 10, he gave up his light. Not all of it, but it went to Rey. Whether he sent it to her directly or however that happened, it was part of his purpose to have her find him and bring him back. Ben found his other half and became what his grandfather wanted to be. *He gave his life to save the one he loved. Ben lives in Rey. They are one.*

lol your telling him to rewatch his scene as if he didnt watch it 50 times more than you in his whole life, and understands vader as a character better.
