Fun Nurgle Fact: So the Beasts of Nurgle are actually really happy and excitable and really just want to play and/or have a hug, but while they do so, they squish their ne friends/toys and cause them to rot and vomit with their aura. When they are slain, they are sent confused, scared and in pain back into the Aethyr (warp basically) and then pupate like caterpillars or beetle larvae, their fear turning to hatred. When they emerge, they are Rotflies (the plague drone mounts) and have a much more hatful demeanour. These rotflies usually kill by plucking the heads off enemies, which are semi-digested and turned into the death heads that are thrown by some plague bearers (including those who mount them). However, if they ever find the person who original killed them in their Beast of Nurgle form, they will eat them whole and that person will spend eternity in their abdomen, digesting but never dying.
Tamurkhan is in body of Ogre Tyrant called Karaka Breakmountain. He was killed by Elspeth using a trick, Theodore Bruckner died during fight with him and when Tamukhan tried to slip into his new host, magical talisman around Bruckner's neck caused huge explosion, killing him just before his ascention to Demon Prince About his origin story, that what his Throne of Chaos book have to say : "Some tales speak of Tamurkhan as the millennia-old scion of the Great Kurgan, one of four sons, mighty and terrible, who each set out to the four winds to conquer in the service of the four great powers of Chaos. Others had it that he was no more than a vermin once -- a corpse-worm grown fat and clever on the spoiled entrails of the battlefield, swelled up and transfigured in the basking light of the Eternal Battle in the uttermost north of the Chaos Wastes."
Minor correction (if I'm remembering right), Theodore didn't die he "killed" Tamurkhan (his ogre body at any rate) and the maggot came out and tried to take over Theodore's in turn. And then the talisman blew him up and killed him for good. Part of what got Tamurkhan in the end was he stopped bodyhopping after he took over Karaka Breakmountain's body because he got so addicted to the ogre's strength and power so even after the body started to deteriorate he didn't try to take another one until too late.
Lesions, coughs, and nasty sneezes. Handkerchiefs and good diseases. Rumpity tum, tiddle-aye po, bile and blood, and in ya go. Buboes, phlegm, blood and guts, boils, bogeys, rot and puss. Blisters, fevers, weeping sores, from your wounds, the fester pours!
Yes! Loved my Nurgle playthrough with this DLC. Fantastic mechanics and big boy is perhaps one of the strongest lords out there considering his regen, mass, and health pool. Nurgle army with Chaos Dwarves based on range is also devastating as a change from the frontal charge of Tam's army. Also, having The Befouled and The Crazed Chieftains in with Tam makes him utterly devastating, as their skills and unit bonuses keep the steamroll going.
So Takurkhan is basically a nurgling that keeps possessing different host bodies. The Orge Tyrant Karaka Breakmountain is just his latest body. He's used several other 1s in the past until the effects or Nurgles corruption consumed the bodies. He is a favorite of Nurgle though, hence why he's so powerful. Also the rot knights, while not the strongest of the Chaos cavalry, are really good. I also love the plague ogres, very fun and very fitting.
I recently bought war hammer 3 because of you!! As a new player, I can turn a close victory on the auto resolve into a decisive defeat if I do it manually. Gonna watch your battles more to see what to do.
Turn the battle difficulty to hard, that way the auto resolve is at least semi accurate and the ai isn’t retarded. Your armies receive a force multiplier in auto resolve on lower difficulties. Then find the AI stats slider, and turn it all the way down so they have a -10% penalty across the board. That way they won’t be as strong in the fights, and you can learn to fight the battles. So, fairly reasonable auto resolve result, and an easier fight while you learn the mechanics/units
What I wished I had known before buying TWH3, is that I should buy the compilation with all 3 Total Warhammers in. The previous versions add in a lot of content for Total Warhammer 3.
I like the cyclical building system, early on it can be quite restrictive as it takes a while until you can build up many good units, but by the mid game you will have so many units built up you can spam out multiple really strong armies every turn if you wanted to
I've been looking forward to this series! I can't wait to see Nurgle corruption everywhere 🤮 If you get another Beast of Nurgle, I think you should call her Poppy 😁 Edit: Even though you can't name the Toad Dragon, I think a good name for him would be Snuggle-Puss
Sorry for commenting so many times in a row, but I just saw the plague description, and it made me very amused since this character seems to be making you play Plague Inc while also playing Dawn of War.

Nice, been looking forward to this! Tamurkhan is by far my favourite campaign in Thrones of Decay, I really enjoyed the mechanics associated with collecting the heroes and the heroes themselves also have some great bonuses. Won't go into it too much, but you should notice some of them pair up really well together, or of course you could just chuck them all in Tamurkhans army but i'm not a fan of that personally. Anyway, have fun!
Lionheart I would love to see you do an old world campaign! Probably not good for a stream due to end turn times, but I think it’d be good for a series. Keep up the great work!

Tamurkhan is based somewhat on the real-life Turco-Mongol warlord named Timur, better known as Tamerlane. He gained a crippled leg and lost several fingers on one of his hands from an old injury, but he still became a successful conqueror and founder of his own Empire. He even invited his own version of chess because he found the old version too simple and boring for his tastes.
Call the oger unit ogersofcovid another great looking series. I can't wait to see more try and catch your next stream, and it will be my very 1st live with you
Double post, but just finishing this now and had to say…watching you be candid about your own learning, about what you don’t know, is just one more reason why I LOVE watching (and supporting) you. You are the very best my friend. and then, did you notice after you released the first plague how the little maggots crawled off the screen at the top. Such a brilliant touch by CA!!
So far I only ever encountered Tamurkhan on his mount. Without it he doesn't look nearly as intimidating. But then looking at his double axe swing, kinda makes up for that. And I wouldn't put too much faith into Chorfs, in my campaigns it first of all took them forever to even go to war with Grimgor and second they usually got smashed hard.
Excited for this play-through and curious how you will like Nurgle, I love it, but I would say it is my play style. My only tip, I would suggest looking at all the demon units for nurgling shenanigans haha. I know it’s early to talk about mods and, especially since it’s your first Nurgle campaign you should play it as vanilla as possible in terms of Nurgle specific mechanics. If you’re interested later in the campaign there are some mods to make plagues more interesting and cults better as, at least imo, Nurgle has maybe the worst cult buildings. The plague mod by shadow521, it may be a bit OP… but it’s been fun and I enabled it after I set a certain goal in my campaign (confederating Kugath and Epidemius). But I love making a plague cultist with the attrition and siege debuffs and sending him into an area I’m about to conquer to weaken it as I send my armies through. There’s also a nice lore mod that will give you some info/background on places, units, and characters. I don’t read all of them, but the story of tamurkhan was interesting and it gave you the story little by little as you conquered territory.
The Short and Long campaign victory conditions are both following the Throne of Chaos book in Tamurkhan's path into the Empire after he triumphed at Zanbaijinn by first rampaging through the Mountains of Morn where he got the Orge Tyrant body he is most recognized in as well as leading him to fighting the Chaos Dwarfs before storming into the Border Princes and then the Empire.
Also, if it is not too controversial, for a name suggestion I would love some kind of important unit be named "Thrax" (after the villain from Osmosis Jones, who admittedly was based on Anthrax). I'll let you decide on that one.
Doris needs a disease first name - like Typhoid Mary. So C Diff Doris. Make it the whole naming convention for the monster type - E Coli Emma, TB Toni etc - like they were patient zero
Hello everyone, in case you didn't see either the end of Ironside Saga or the community post about two weeks ago now I think, I'm not doing a story for this series. The reasons are: that we could see the return of Oxyotl and I already I have a series for that going that I would like to finish, I'm in need of a little rest, and I didn't think I could balance things so the 'hero' of this story had a fighting chance against the 'villain' who was going to bring a lot of literal firepower to the table. I'll be back in time once I've had a rest and have some more free time. Until then, safe travels.
I've heard, that Doris' sisters are waiting to join your ranks. Vomit Violet, Smallpox Susanna, Cholera Caroline, Coli Clarice and Slimy Sophie want's to have some fun in your armies..
To bad there isn't an order redemption end game crisis. It would be cool to see like all order factions immediately form a military alliance to eradicate chaos orders.
"Nurgle" lore: toxoplasmosis is a parasitic protozoa that cats serve as the main host. When a rat becomes infected with the parasite (usually by coming into contact with cat feces), it alters its behavior, and instead of avoiding the smell of cats the rat is attracted to it. This allows the protozoa to complete its life cycle, as eventually the cat-loving rat gets killed and devoured by a cat, allowing the parasite to infect a new cat's digestive tract. Scientists discovered that the "loves the smell of cats" effect also works on humans infected with toxoplasmosis...and that the areas with the largest infection rates of toxoplasmosis are also the areas with the highest number of pet cats per capita. In short, cats are using a mind-altering parasite to enslave the human population.
Also i know this isnt Tamrkaun or Nurgle facts....well maybe Nurgle. Didnt Nurgle and Khorne go to war because the Changeling stole apples from Nurgles garden? Or am i off base here?
Lionheart, Use Rothnights to flank around they are pretty powerful cavalry unit. the use Death heads as infantry that has the ability to use ranged attacks and soul grinders as Artillery that doubles as monstrous units. Toad dragons and Great unclean ones as your monsters and Roth flies to take out infantry units defending the walls. The
where do you get these intro cinematics? i play the game and have tons of DLC but have literally never seen a single cutscene in tww3, is my stuff bugged or something?
@@lionheartx10 so to be clear the game has literally no cutscenes before this? ive never gotten any, none during tutorial or anything, but your old kislev videos at launch have cutscenes and stuff too... to be clear i mean it doesnt play cutscenes in ANY game mode, even in realm of chaos just dumps me on the map with no explanation popups, no cutscenes or anything. makes it hard to understand what the factions are or how to play them.
Let’s go! I have no experience, so no advice, thus watching to learn. And on learning, on the game start, the “end game difficulty” slider does what? You ramped it up to 200, so I assume “makes it harder” than on 100. But how?
