Back in December 2019, I had the wonderful idea to start programming a ride simulator system, by the end of May 2020 I had finished the first version, but by that time I had learned so much. In July 2020 I started to plan a more accurate and visually appealing version, that was finished back in March 2021.
I have wanted to make this video since early 2020, but it took soooo long to actually get to do it. Anyway here it is, I hope it is enjoyable!

Here are some more Rise of the Resistance Behind the Scenes videos by other creators:
• Rise of the Resistance... - Rise of the Resistance - Martins Ultimate Tribute
• How It Works: Rise of ... - Amusement Labs - Rise of the Resistance
• 10 Rise of the Resista... - Theme Park Stop - 10 Rise of the Resistance Secrets
Thanks to alka and Ian for supporting this video
-- MUSIC USED --
Saving the World - Aaron Kenny
Black Vortex - Kevin Macleod
Imperial Forces - Aaron Kenny
Rise of the Resistance - Disney
This video hopes to teach you about the wondrous complexities of the ride Rise of the Resistance located at Disneyland and Hollywood Studios
Oh and at the time I made this video I have still not ridden this ride, this whole project was started in December 2019 so it has taken 1.5 years to get here. When I next get the chance I am going to ride this ride though!

Coming from a Rise attraction maintenance worker ,you really nailed this on the head. Almost looks like the layout screens from our computer system in the attraction. Good job : )

You should consider making one of these for Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway. It would be interesting to see the engines going through their shortcut and joining up with a different group of cars.

This is very true and I have seriously considered it, but I made the decision to wait for the Disneyland version to open before I make any final decisions. I have made other simulations though, currently I have one for Indiana Jones Adventure, Roger Rabbits Car Toon Spin, Popcorn Revenge and I am currently working on Journey to the Center of the Earth!

@@Willbyh though this was cool you kind of missed the spots where the vehicles would stop along the ride path to stall for time when the vehicles get backed up
@Willbyh
@Willbyh Год назад
I would have loved to include this, but I have no way of finding this. If anyone wants to tell me I am very interested. I know of a few places where the vehicles can stop but being a trackless darkride there is no logical placement for for them to stop except where-ever they can. If you do have this information I would love to put it into the simulator though!
@cartoonkeeper

@@Willbyh well there is plenty of footage online of various places where the vehicles would queue up and there would be extra dialogue placed in that is used to fill in time like for example if the backlog of vehicles actually goes all the way back to the Escape pod sequence then after the simulated crash landing there would actually be a conversation between Finn and the R5 unit on your vehicle talking about how they are struggling to open the door and then there would be subsequent dialogue as they progressed closer to the stationary pod that has Beck in it however Beyond The Escape pod sequence I don't know where else the pods would delay in preparation for waiting for the next available slot probably another spot would be on the bridge where there would be some extra dialogue that would happen before the one female voice would show up

This is amazing and it gives me a new appreciation for the ride. I also calculated that assuming a dispatch occurs every 30 seconds, Rise of Resistance has a theoretical capacity of 1920 riders per an hour.
@Willbyh
@Willbyh 3 месяца назад
That sounds about right! It’s a fascinating ride. According to the logged simulation statistics of people running the ride which does include for the many sessions a starting up of the ride a pph of about 833. Which is much lower, maybe you can think of that as the first operating hour.

Back when I started this there were no layouts/blueprints out that were accurate but there were some pretty good guesses, so I had a base to work off and from then on it was a LOT of watching videos and figuring it out.

This is just delightful, jaw-droppingly amazing work. Some of the details (like the cast member-only walkways), couldn’t have been inferred, could they? I’m dying to know how you pieced this all together.
@Willbyh
@Willbyh 2 месяца назад
Most of it is just from watching video of the ride and figuring out how the puzzle could work. I spoke a bit to some people know knew things videos could not tell me. But never having actually been on the ride… (yes) I had to search everywhere I could. I had an extremely rough layout of the ride to base things off with many errors. Right before I finished I got to see actual layouts of the ride and confirmed I got mostly everything correct (the gun deck is at an ever so slightly different angle), I also took this time to draw faint outlines of the backstage areas and do finishing touches. Things like that cast member walkway came from someone telling me there was a walkway there and based on videos I could guess how big it was and where it went. Another thing was the direction vehicles face in the return tunnel and how they specifically travel to the maintenance bay. But yeah, there is a lot you can get from videos and hundreds of hours of processing how things could fit together. If you want to see more, I left some information in the description about the project. :>

@@Willbyh Appreciate the response; that all makes a ton of sense. Have you been able to experience the ride in person since finishing this project? Curious if knowing how it all works makes the experience less interesting, or ultimately more rewarding.
@Willbyh
@Willbyh 23 дня назад
I have not… Though I have ridden other rides I know a similar amount about and it entirely added to the enjoyment for me. After looking at all the details so much I find I get a greater appreciation for how they pulled off the crazy problem solving that goes into designing a dark ride.

In the full tride through scene, follow the first transfer which aws only 6 guests on board. I'd like the sound of transport 2 better on the uplift. The very end didn't match: music was a little extend fo the back of the unload, but the transports at the front.

I was at Disneyland the last day before it closed for the pandemic and tried to get on Rise for my first time ever. I made it just before the pre-show room and the ride broke down. I was the very last boarding group of the day and the park closed shortly after that. Never got to go on it and I can’t afford to go back for at least another year or two.

Yeah. I know how you feel because I went through something similar like that when I went to Disneyland back in 2021. My family and I made it to the hallway before we got to the interrogation rooms, but something happened so we had to wait. Unfortunately it took too long, like right up to the park’s closing time, and we just left. Thankfully the employees in the ride were kind and they apologized for the inconvenience, and we were cool about it. Still, It was kinda of unfortunate that we ended our Disneyland adventure like that. Also I find it hilarious that the employees were dressed up as the First Order and they just let us go.
