Rise of the Ronin | PS5 | Ray Tracing vs Graphics vs Performance Mode | Graphics Comparison 

READ 👇👇👇 Rise of the Ronin is finally here on PS5. With Team Ninja's signature combat and a open world this time around, this is a great game for action RPG fans. In terms of Graphics modes, Rise of the Ronin provides 3 options - Ray Tracing Mode - which runs at 30 FPS when capped or 50 to 60 FPS when uncapped. Ray Tracing is mainly applied to smaller water bodies and shadows. In terms of Resolution, the 60 FPS uncapped mode runs around 810P to 1260P whereas the 30 FPS capped mode is fixed at 900P, all upscaled to 4K using checkerboarded rendering. Graphics Mode - This mode again runs at 30 FPS when capped or 45 to 60FPS when uncapped, without Ray Tracing ofcourse. This mode currently has some stutters and camera speed issues which makes the game feel more laggy than it actually is. The resolution is around 1600P, upscaled to 4K using checkerboarded rendering. Performance Mode - This mode runs at 60 FPS, with drops to around 50 FPS in heavy combat sequences and runs at a resolution of about 900P to 1160P, upscaled to 4K using checkerboarded rendering. The graphics, contrary to the Twitter discourse, is NOT BAD. Its Not Next Gen. But if you are familiar with Team Ninja games, much like Form Software, they dont care much about graphics and prioritize Gameplay instead. Overall Rise of the Ronin is an excellent action RPG, with great accessibility thanks to Difficulty options, and provides a satisfying gameplay loop with an engaging story. The Best way to play the game now would be to use the RAY TRACING MODE with Uncapped Framerate.
