@@davidmichel6550 Their personalities are better defined after episode 1. They goof around yeah, but definitely do not have behave the same. Leo's got confidence issues and struggles with his skills, Raph is pretty sensitive and worries a lot about his role as leader, Donnie is passionate but also dramatic, and this Mikey is probably the most tame cartoon incarnation. Doesn't act like an idiot all the time just because.

@@davidmichel6550 you havent watched the show rigth? i mean , of course they are party dudes , they are teenagers after all , but they are different. Leo is this guy who's always like ¨I should be the leader¨ making bad jokes , uses sarcasm etc , but Mikey is different now , he's more like a little inocent child who loves everyone , Donnie is still the nerd but he's more confident , and he's a little crazy, he's like a Mad sciencist but good , algo he's sassy and the most mature of all , Raph is sensitive and he loves his brothers , that's why he's worried about his leadership , i men he literally cried when Draxum almost kills Leo and he saved his life.

As an animator, this show is absolute eye candy 😍😍 trust me, the artists of this show are so hecking skilled. And also! For those who didn’t enjoy the first episode, just watch a few more. The overarching story picks up at the middle/end of season one if I recall correctly (my theory is that the creators wanted to establish the characters and their relationships before the story actually begins, as it’s kind of short), the turtles and CO are so endearing, and where the show really shines is in its dialog. Seriously, you don’t want to miss out, I haven’t laughed out loud this much over a cartoon in a while. Oh and Splinter becomes much more likable as the true story unfolds, so if you didn’t like splinter at first, you will later!

I really enjoy this show! The animation is amazing and the turtle designs really stand out from eachother! Even though at first glance the turtles really act the same,but after watching a view more episodes they act very differently! Raph is my most favorite, he's so soft to his brothers and trying his best to protect them. I really dont mind the completely new changes of splinter, he's just more comedic and just a lazy rat dad, which yeah, I can see why alot of TMNT fans got really annoyed by. Even though I really wanna praise this show I do sadly have a few problems, I think at times the pasing goes a bit fast at times,not getting to know the world and characters alot, though that'll be difficult since this show usually has eleven minutes so it's understandable if they can't flush out everything. Another one I have is the timeline as well, like when the turtles visit some monster restaurant. Anyways, really enjoy this series! Can't wait for new episodes!

They also referenced to the 2003 turtles weapons in the first two part episode, the weapons Mikey and Leo picked up where colored at the handle just like their 2003 counterparts. And they referenced Sydney from 2003 in “the longest fight” even saying “shes gotta be a mutant”

fun fact: ze entire tmnt series is referenced to fnaf and in the rise in a episode(cant remember name) when donnie "fixed" the animatronic bear he actuelly affected it, as donnies mask is purple, donnie is ze purple guy, and those different animatronic bears are different freddies, and plus the original tmnt is created in 1984(comics) and thats definetly when william afton first opened ze restaurants, it feels so good to have ur 2 fandoms referenced...

*Big Spoiler Alert, from episode 3 season 2* : Splinter vowed to not use violence anymore for [unknown reasons]. He decided he would not fight anymore, not for others nor for himself. When he found out they used his dna to create forceful warriors with the sole purpose of fighting and destruction, he saved the creatures (our 4 turtles) and decided to rise them as far away from that live as possible, hence explaining why at the start of the serie they are just teenagers with a passion for ninja and not truly real ninja with training on their years

Major spoiler!!!! - - - - - - - - - Splinter has reached rock bottom, absolute zero. He had a specific mission. To stop shredder. However he chose to take a different path. He became a movie star. He was handsome he was incredibly famous. Heck Lou Jitsu is still Hella famous in the rottmnt universe even so many years after. He was the best fighter. Then he lost everything he lost his looks his fame too. He became what one would call a freak. He failed everyone. His family himself. I know it can look weird at first but there is a reason splinter is like this in that show. It's a deep and beautiful sad story

I disagree, I love this new splinter but I can see why you wouldn't like him at first, but down the track his backstory really does shine some light on his bitterness and neglectful/reckless behaviour. One thing I had a tough time getting into the show was Donnie's new personality. I got over it eventually and accepted him as the character he is now, it just didn't feel like him at first. But I also absolutely agree even now that I'm caught up on all the current episodes, I miss Donnie crushing on April and I feel like it would be really organic to see him develop feelings for her, it might even bring out more of the awkward dorkiness you would've seen in previous incarnations of his character.

And, pause at the right moment in the episode "Pizza Pit", you'll see on Donnie's posterboard the cover of the 2012 TMNT as well as a scene from the 80's TMNT, with sticky notes saying "alternate universes?" I think Donnie was on to something there! You forgot about when Mikey is searching for the Lou Jitsu video game, he finds a literal Ice Cream Kitty from the 2012 Verse.
