A review/critique/retrospective/analysis of Risen 3: Titan Lords, the fantasy-pirate-themed action-adventure RPG by Piranha Bytes. In the context of its original release in 2014, Risen 3 is what I would consider "good enough for a PB game" in the sense that there is at least a fundamental level of satisfaction in the overall experience to be had if you can buy into everything it's selling and accept the fact that it's not going to achieve the magical heights of the early Gothic games or the heart of the experience as well as Risen 1. However, the quality level is stretched a little too thin over the full game experience without enough truly unique or exciting content -- or a satisfying feeling of progression -- to keep things interesting the whole way through.
