The problem is, even if the Tory's did adopt a load of right wing policies, nobody would believe them. Years of talking tough and doing nothing, has created a huge credibility problem for them.

The one time the tories ever managed to win a massive majority was the same as Labour has right now with the whole “voting against Labour more than for the tories” during the Great Depression. LABOUR was the one who managed to inspire a positive vote in favour in 1997, I would point out that by 1997 Major had done well to fix the economy in many senses and lost anyways so that was less about being anti-Tory and more pro-Labour. The electorate in the UK are confused about "right and left" . Thankfully in the UK there is a variety of entirely respectable opinions within the "right - left continuum". To compare and attempt to discredit either with extremes elsewhere is ridiculous

Opting for Starmer following Sunak is like changing your tie coz you shat your pants.

No. Opting for Starmer is like dressing up in skimpy women's underwear and crapping in it constantly for 4 years until we all choke to death from it because some people didn't realise how psychotic he is.

It's not a mile wide and an inch deep, tactical voting was widespread, we knew we'd be getting a Labour government regardless, we chose to vote for progressive mps and get as many tories out as possible, that's why Lib Dems gained 60 odd seats, in places this backfired, and the progressive vote was split, you're seriously underestimating how badly the Tories are thought of throughout the UK

The British public have accept some of the blame for putting up with this Conga Line of under achievers for as long as they did. From my vantage point here in Australia Starmer will struggle for traction from day one and will make ‘ net zero’ progress during his term as PM.

It's also a huge coincidence that by calling the election the Bill to BAN SMOKING and NO FAULT EVICTIONS didn't make it through Parliament. A lot of rich people will be happy with that.

The main obstacle wasn't policy but that a political party (whoever it is) was in power for over a decade. People want a change around that duration ...

I know , Sunak has been terrible pm Why didn’t you find a better one ? Because there wasn’t a better one than Sunak in the cabinet. If you get rid of the outsiders from the political parties you will better know it , just think about the British sports, you will get all the answers. Thanks

All you've got to do to find out what the Conservatives are and what they're for is to ASK YOUR ELECTORATE. Fishing around for university professors and talking to ex MPs, and 'internationalising' your party is only going to reinforce the political bubble that led you to this situation. Reform are a grass roots party which has the people's wishes at it's core - hence 15% of the vote in the election. That's the point.
