We are in need of complete change. Our system has not worked for a long time. But we need a movement by the people that is not hijacked from within and that can move forward as one for this change. It is time to take back from the etonian club. But I really don't think the numbers would be there. How do you stop them? Everyone downs tools .......EVERYONE! NOT A CHANCE.

I wonder why sunak cancelled (and is attempting to sell the land for) Manchester hs2 leg without consulting network rail, hs2 ltd, Parliament or even his own cabinet? and why would he facilitate a plan to sell half of the Euston terminus site to make it impossible to build the station properly? it couldn't possibly have anything to do with high-speed rail making domestic air travel (wich doesn't pay tax on their fuel) and long-distance car journeys irrelevant? why would the prime minister cancel a project that lowers fossil fuel usage. and why would he say that "money has been made avaliable" for motorway expansion when hs2 is actually funded by long term loans? and also ensure that the government overrules local authorities to expand airports even through domestic airlines are in decline. its like he wants to sabotage electric public transport while inflating the use of fossil fuel dependant private transport? its almost as if he has some sort of interest that is conflicting with public policy? like the government's decisions are corrupted one might say? just wondering.

I know you , understandably , have reservations about fighting with monsters , but you ARE very talented at it . If you can find the strength of spirit to look into the abyss occasionally and give one or two of the demons that live there a good whack over the head ( metaphorically , of course ) it could help make the world a better place .

It seems we are living in the Neo Zibotsu world that William Gibson's Sprawl trilogy described in the 80's. It seems the megacorps are the ones with control over what happens, everything else is just spin.

It's clear Sunak is granting these licenses to directly benefit his own pockets, using the national interest as a flimsy shield. In any other sphere of business this would be called 'insider trading'. We may as well give up on our net zero aspirations as it's clear the Tories are going to dish out as many eco-damaging contracts to their mates as they can before being booted out of office.

I think this country should march on government and remove some powers and put laws in place you can't profit from your postion

How is there no oversight mechanism ? How did the contract get awarded to Infosys without any cross-party committee scrutiny on energy source companies & technology partners? How is the civil service rendered so ineffectual that there are no checks in n preventing this sort of ‘cosy corruption’?

You fail to understand that politicians are professionals at corrupt practices, and would make Al Capone look like an amateur 😉

Not against the idea of new North Sea oil & gas licences, but the fact that Sunak would profit from such is so immoral. Doesn't this mean that Sunak has a severe conflict of interest, as his government would be the one awarding the licenses of which he would profit from in the majority of cases as PM?

Someone will profit from any source of energy always have always will. It's never going to be free. I remember seeing a film clip where Harold Wilson was outside Dounreay nuclear power plant telling the British public that it would mean free electricity for all. If it was you making a profit you wouldn't give a shit I know.

Yup, the new North Sea licences are a nonsense. We should be gearing up more and more renewables, including loads more wind farms capacity.
