Pace made the race. Split times were historically slow. They may run a faster six panels in the Belmont. Kingsbarns came home really quick, though, and if the KYD sets up like the LAD, look out. An undefeated colt that runs faster with each race looms a major threat on the first Sat in May.

The thing I like is his versatility. He took the lead because no one else did, he's come from off the pace before. Flavien can just see how the KY Derby unfolds and feel confident with whatever spot presents itself

@@apharoah12 think Flavien will be on Angel of Empire. He's kind of supplanted Geroux as Cox's #1 jock it seems.

Absolutely great video footage and editing.Great race by Kingsbarns and Pratt. Broke great, secured the lead, denied 11 the rail, slowed down the pace, and romped home. Doesn't have to have the lead. A fast clean break is critical in the Ky. Derby. Get away from trouble, boxing in, then can either lead, or sit off the lead, and roll down the long stretch at CD.. He's definitely in the top 3 IMO as of now. Right along with Forte, and Practical Move. Thanks, John

I seemed to remember a horse last year in the Kentucky Derby coming from last and overrunning the field in the last 70 yards . I believe it was Rich Strike .

Good job with your video. Kingsbarns wasn't really tested. Not his fault the field let him jog for 6 furlongs. Nobody really made a closing move and nobody really faded, which can happen with a slow early pace.

Kingsbarns and his jock both deserved this win 100% . Shame about Shoppers Revenge though. He did NOT like being rated early and being behind the front runner. His jockey should have placed him up front early, when he had the chance.

I like ya vlog but it would be better to track the horse with regular odds like on da tote board . Congrats to da winner here . I have to go back n watch all these three yr olds races . My twin sister Janet have been battling stage four ovarian cancer since 2016. She is not doing so good n doc told her their is nothing else they can do for her . Am always praying for her .

Dare I say it... Kingsbarns is the best of the Pletchers for the Derby, even better than Forte: He's undefeated, he's gone further, he can come off the pace. Would not be shocked to see Kingsbarns wire 'em again!

@@FoolishPrankster it appears to depend where Gafflione lands. Gaff rode Verifying in the Bluegrass. Geroux rode him in the Rebel. Will be interesting. You have to figure him riding something. It appears Prat has supplanted Geroux as Cox's go to guy.

This you can take to the bank, no one in this race will finish in the top 3 of the derby. Poor field, yes the winner ran a great last quarter but it was a paid workout.
