Thanks! That rocker does wonders. By constantly carving side to side on the wave and trimming my body weight to the back, I can stay a bit higher on the wave which avoids a full bow bury.
Interesting. I haven't kayaked much but can see the parallels with surfing. I was expecting you to "pearl" when the bow went under, but having a lot of rocker could save you on a surfboard as well. Thanks again for sharing this well-shot and well-edited video.
Nice! I've only seen Skook from the shore once years ago and would love to surf the standing wave one day. 😎 I saw the DCCK logo on the bow of the Grand Illusion; is that an ex-rental? If so, I've paddled that boat! Loved it so much, I had one custom built to my specs.
