@@donogoodatgames nah it’s just that.. the games been out for a few days, and to unlock the mercenary, you have to beat the game 5 times, and so many people are saying rorr is REALLY difficult, so I’m guessing a ton of people haven’t unlocked mercenary yet. That must be why there’s so little content of him. All of that just clicked in me when I saw this comment, that’s why I thought it was hilarious lol.
Drifter can absolutely snowball the run if you choose ancient scepter (buffs your 4th ability) and the gigantic amethyst equipment (resets all cooldowns) she is omega op for this challenge.
This guide was a godsend. Another tip for this is that on stage 1 and stage 9, you can stand on the upper platforms and use eviscerate to hit the boss while they're below you. It's got a pretty good range. You're completely safe the whole time (unless the imp overlord teleports).
Pretty good guide overall. For item choices though, stage 4 I would definitely pick up Frost Relic instead of Rusty Knife. Frost Relic combined with Merc's overall playstyle compliments them really well, especially with the 9 dashes. It adds a lot of damage over the run, and is really easy to keep up, even in Provi fight with all the Umbras/Constructs. Also recommend Ifrit's horn over Shell Fragment. The extra shield is not that much, and generally Horn will give you better mileage and damage.
great guide that got me through the challenges. The 2 items that I took differently for me that got me through the challenges faster was the alien head that reduces your ultimate to 4 seconds with the wicked ring is legit insane, plus the snowflake item is incredibly busted on melee classes and makes going through and shredding the trouble bosses. Wait for at least 3 or 4 trash mobs to spawn with the boss and once you time stop everything disappears.
Really awesomce guide, defintely a few item choices I deviated on like taking an early frost relic, but this really helped get the attempts started and rolling, thanks a bunch!
that comment during phase 2 of providence "not getting overwhelemed by all the shit on the screen and understanding what can damage you" THAT is how i always imagined a "final boss" in RoR. a gauntlet with a boss fight at the end that puts EVERYTHING you know and learned over dozens of runs to the test. and for the gold you not only need to know but have MASTERED what the game gives you. well done hopoo! P.S. : that "hitmarker" is a tuned down version of providences light-crown.
Thank you for the mercenary guide, the reactor giving plenty more dashes saved my life, but i went another way as the build was lacking in damage, so i took the bounty list at the start and just "got gud" at the first stage and i've taken the tooth instead of the Scyte for reliable healing , and my active item was the shard to get 6 dashes like a madman, so i focused on deleting ennemies rather than stalling for time
Man I've tried to take Hit List first thing but Mercenary is just so fuckin bad at sealing the deal on kills on that first stage. I want the damage but it feels like ukulele or guardian heart are required for stable attempts
@@OfficerSkeleton fair enough. Sometimes I had to restart 5 times for hit. List. But once you're in it gets easier. I suggest only using dash and taking your times on stage one. And making the lizard on left fall with a glitch
Huntress was like drizzle compared to all the others I’ve tried esp merc feeling like insta death mode. Hit list, energy cell, guardian heart on her is broke
If you want help with Engineer I know how to best it easily. I don't play Engineer and I am not good at the game but there is a broken build that allows you to play it way more casually.
yeah I went and tried it on huntress and it was like I was playing a completely different game. Merc has it rough on the first couple stages and requires a lot of patience.
@@bigbluepurple Yeah it was super rough! But I tried out your method and got it first try! I was being too aggressive and not utilizing the hardlight + dash lol
