These are my favourite kind of videos from you! Mainly because you get so enthusiastic about makeup history, partly because I'm a history fan. Anything where you're having fun is perfect for me, though!
Annalise Snoddon I agree, I love hearing more about Hollywood icons and makeup history. Rita Hayworth might be the most beautiful woman ever. Debra Paget and Veronica Lake were gorgeous, too.
I love Rita Hayworth and BAREEEELY anybody pays attention to her now. She was gorgeous, her looks were amazing, she was so graceful and glamorous. Her life is so interesting too. She is on the same level as Marilyn Monroe to me. I was literally wondering how she did her makeup but just figured I would never know so I'm glad you did this! I always gush about her and nobody's ever heard of her and it makes me so sad.
She just has this whole other vibe to her than any other celebrity now. She is so magnetic and charming and had this whole mystique. Love it. Orson Welles also cheated on her, he wasn't a faithful dude and he was so focused on work that it took over his life.
Fascinating anecdotes and beautiful makeup! Could you do a really glam 60s makeup look? I'm thinking something with glitter, like on the show Good Girls Revolt.
So happy to hear someone talking so well about Rita. You make a vibrating homage to her beauty but also to her immense talent. Her eyes always move me so much: I think we saw all his injuries in it but also all her kindness. Well done Nic and thank you
Rita is my Hollywood icon, also! I know every word of dialogue from "Gilda". LOVE IT when she sings "Put the Blame on Mame". She and Glenn Ford were everything in that movie. I loved your rolling commentary about her life. The makeup you did is perfect!
While you were makeup-ing, I checked out Rita Hayworth and she was gorgeous! I can see why you'd want to do a Hayworth look! Love you with 1940's makeup...beautiful!!
I loved this!!!! I love Old Hollywood. My favorite icon is Clara Bow. I know she isn't from that Golden Age but she dealt with SO much and was so talented. I love all her films and her iconic look!
My mum raised me on this era of films so Rita and Joan and Bette were my definition of beauty for a long time. This is a fabulous video. My favorite Hollywood Icons are Rosemary Clooney and Doris Day. There are so many others but their voices solidify their place in the top.
I absolutely loved this video!! ❤️ I loved hearing you tell the story’s of Rita. I’d love to hear about more Hollywood icons as you recreate their makeup looks. Also, Gorgeous makeup! ⭐️
I have to be honest, I watched this BECAUSE it had makeup history and was long. This was literally one of the most interesting and different type of tutorial I have seen in a while. MORE!!!!! This was awesome!
Right up my alley this Mrs. Thank you. Excellent video. Kim Novak, Marilyn Monroe and Ava Gardner. I feel all very underrated as actresses and Marilyn was a fabulous comic actress in particular.
I love this look! My absolute favourite Hollywood Icon is Marlene Dietrich. My daughter's nickname as a kid was Rita because she looked a lot like Rita Hayworth. Sometimes she toys with going back to it.
Rita Hayworth has always been my number one in terms of Old Hollywood beauties. People always talk about Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and others, but for me, Rita just takes the cake. Thank you for giving my fave girl some love! AND The Max Factor Hollywood museum was my absolute favorite attraction on Hollywood Boulevard, hands down.
I have been watching pixiwoo since I was 12 and up until I turned 18 I loved your makeup but only felt secure in wearing thick Instagram makeup, and I could never understand how lighter makeup (normal day to day makeup/artistic delicate maleup) could ever look nice on me. But as I am developing as an artist and realising that Instagram makeup is a very small proportion of the art I have gained so much confidence to accentuate my face not mask it. But basically my point is thank you for teaching me so much for the past 6 years that I've been subscribed. So inspired by both of your realness in the industry. All my love x
I LOVE these videos. Old Hollywood makeup (and stars) are my favorite. It was just such a different time and people were so talented and cultured. My absolute favorite Hollywood Icon is Gloria Grahame even though I don't feel like you hear about her all that often.
Thankyou so much Nic...I had requested Rita..You are spot on with the mouth.. What a lovely look..Rita is my fave...followed by Linda Darnell...absolutely gorgeous... and then Ava. ❤xx
I love it! I LOVE YOU! And I LOVED hearing your enthusiastic retelling of Rita Hayworth’s behind the scenes history. I recall a documentary about her that wasn’t nearly as rich in emotion as your rendition was. NEVER apologize for being you that’s why we watch!! Thanks for everything you do!
Love this!!! I'd love to see a series on historical makeup of various icons. I'd love to see Hedy Lamarr because she was gorgeous and multi-talented, storytime and makeup on her would be fantastic!!
Love all the Hollywood icons especially Bette Davis and Joan Crawford. Ava Gardner was beautiful. Love Doris Day films too. See I'm obsessed. Loved the make up Nik 😘😘
I've been a classic film fan my whole life - one of my aunts introduced me to old movies when I was just six years old! I wish more people watched them and loved them as much as I do, so thank you for making this video and spreading the word about Rita Hayworth :D x
Gorgeous! and Rita is one of my absolute favourites!! I have all her movies and am obsessed with the 40's please do more! do a series! I love all those glamorous actresses, Hedy Lamarr is another fabulous one! And Lauren Bacall as someone already suggested...thanks for doing this!
Love ❤️Love ❤️ Love ❤️ this tutorial!!!!!!!!!!! The story was fantastic. You didn’t go on to much at all. When you started asking questions and then caught yourself out. That’s me all the time.
I'd also love to see some classic French actresses (Catherine Deneuve, Isabelle Adjani, Capucine, Jeanne Moreau, Isabelle Huppert, Leslie Caron) and modern ones (Emmanuelle Beart & Seigneur, Sophie Marceau, Marion Cotillard, Eva Green, Audrey Tautou, Juliette Binoche, Vanessa Paradis etc)
I love Rita, and Marilyn and Liz ... and having hooded lids myself I really enjoyed Sam’s Ava Gardner video. Love love LOVE the classic old Hollywood make up ❤️❤️❤️
I don’t comment on here often but I wanted to say that I really loved this. Please do more videos like this. I especially enjoyed all the background information about Rita Hayworth. You had me really picturing that era.
I absolutely love all the information you have in not just how to apply makeup, but the history behind the makeup and entertainment industry and the people. My personal favorite starlet is Lauren Bacall.
Yeah!!! Thank you so much for doing this. She is hands down favorite! My grandfather was part Spanish and growing up I remember him always saying she was a beauty! My husband loves her as well and named is luxury car "Gilda". Not a lot of makeup tutorials for her so I appreciate this so much! xoxo
My favourite has to be Ingrid Bergman, but no one is more iconic than Liz Taylor, as far as I'm concerned. Maybe Bette Davis as Margo, but Liz Taylor was incredible.
Love love love these types of tutorials!!!! Please do more! I would love more description of why you are choosing the kind of make up that you chose so that we can choose similar make up if we don’t have exactly what you have. Just like you explained with the red lip. You and Sam are both so talented! Thanks for sharing with us!
How amazing this video was! I was so impressed to see you actually transform into a beautiful Hollywood icon yourself! It all came together perfectly! I LOVE old Hollywood, makeup and decor...obsessed! I was so fixed on you as you were telling her story while putting on the makeup. One of my favorite videos! I would love to see and listen to you do more videos like this. You are so adorable and funny. You and Sam are stunning and so relatable. Keep 'em coming!
You have a new wedding ring! It’s beautiful, but your previous ring I adored. My favorite to look at for years. I would always look at it. Also love the back stories
