Good take, and i totally agree. I feel the most important point of the video is my last. If you are patient, fun/chill, value minded, younger, and/or easy-going - especially with a family or young group - the parties, food, drinks, entertainment, etc are essentially free considering the price for the room

We were just there the last week of June. We ended up having to book an additional excursion (Scape Park) to save our vacation. And, to have at least one decent meal. Rooms were not good. We were in 5017 so we had a view of the same pool you did. Our all-inclusive in Mexico in 2021 was 10x better all around than this place was. Love the video, man.

Love it! I did Riu Palace Bavaro my first time in Punta Cana in 2018 and it was beautiful. Although we had bad sargassum that summer. We spent a lot of our time at Palace Punta Cana as we had access to all. I just hopped on to check price for the Bambu at New Years and its insane 3400 for one week. All the Riu’s start at 3000 so ya lol we paid 2585 for two weeks in 2018 in the summer. We found the buffet very good even comparing to the Barcelo and Bahia we did in Mexico last two summers! Restaurants were okay, they are all the same Krystal and the others all have the same menu just different restaurant name at least for the Palaces not sure the regular Riu’s the Palaces also all look the same across the board. We looked at them in Playacar in Mexico and same thing one reason we decided not to do one there wanted to try a new chain. Thanks for the video, I been to every Riu in Punta Cana and Bambu is decent if you understand you get what you pay for. I paid $500 for me and my girlfriend for 3 nights so that was awesome. Also I found that the steakhouse is good and if you wanna hit one of the buffets, try to get there when they first open. The food is fresher and better then. I would prefer Macao, its newly remodeled and the food and drinks are better, but its about twice the price of Riu Bambu. Keep up the good work bro, Im a fan for life

I've been to PC 9 times and have stayed at 5 different resorts ranging from cheap to moderately expensive. I always tell people booking for the first time that you get what you pay for. I know that's a cliché saying, but it's 100% true in PC.

I’m booked to go here in 2 wks. I just read a bunch of reviews and was apprehensive on whether or not I should cancel my room. I’m gonna go with my instinct and after watching your video, I think it’s best I cancel. I love the party scene (don’t get me wrong) but I’ve been out of college for quite some time now. I’d prefer to sleep in peaceful conditions lol I’ve stayed at the RIU in Ocho Rios and it was A-1. But your room looked atrocious!!! No thanks!! 🙅🏾‍♂️ Gonna go with my 2nd choice. Stayed in this hotel 2 times, the beach is great and the property is big and walkable. I actually like the small houses and prefer them to highrises and block-of-flats. But for the rest - you are right, the quality is declining, so no more Riu Bambu for us... Re drinks - after their cocktails, alcoholic or non-alcoholic the whole family got an upset stomach. It helped to lose a couple of kilos, so if you are looking for weight loss vacation experience, go there and take as many cocktails as you can 🙂

I have stayed in many Riu resorts in Mexico. My first experience at the Riu in Costa Mujheres during the pandemic was incredible. The staff were exceptional, the hotel was quiet and peaceful, because the party bar was closed, and the food was good. The night entertainment was quite enjoyable, including the Michael Jackson performance. Absolutely loved this for tomorrow as I would go there during the day for a coffee, a snack, and to read. The beach was very quiet in the morning, so I was able to do one hour of lapses. And the beach it was incredible. But after going to the Riu in Mazatlan in in Cabo, I have made the decision never to step foot in a Riu again. Cabo was the worst one with flies in the food and staff extremely rude. At that resort people are drunk and throwing up at 10 AM. I do not drink alcohol. Thank God because the week for drinks at the pool bar with so long. In Mazatlan, the dining staff was shaming me because I am a solo female traveler. They made me feel bad for not having anyone with me which was awkward. Both hotels were dirty ,deteriorating and were basically party zones. I recently was looking at going to an all inclusive in the DR and thought about going to this Riu. But knowing this chain of resorts, the cheaper it is the worst the experience. And this review only confirmed it. Thanks again for your thorough review. Your hard work as much appreciated.😊😊

Love it! Ok so let me share my experience with Club Med. I first started going there when I was young in 1990. The rooms weren't that good. The food was average to bad. The drinks that you had to pay for were not good at all. The people were young and obnoxious. I had been to one other All Inclusive prior to that called Hedonism II. That was a hell hole. So the Club Med was great in comparison. I kept going back to the CM in Cancun and Turks. I went to the one on Paradise Island and the one in Martinique. As I got older I started thinking, "There has got to be a better way". What kept me coming back was that CM was focused on singles. Finally in 2001 I went for my last time to Turks. It was about 3AM one morning and people were running around drunk outside screaming their heads off. And then I finally came to an epiphany. I finally understood that I had aged out. That scene was over for me and it was time to up my game and move on to a better experience. James what I'm trying to say is that YOU are on your way there. Yes I get it. You do this for business, for the channel. I think if it wasn't for that you will be looking to move on as well. Great video as always.

Well, Im already booking tropical views over pool views, so I concur on the evolution. but remember, I do hotels like this to get outside my comfort zone and also try to find gems for you. I dont think Id like this hotel when i was 25,30, or 35. But the "aging-out" or "maturation" process is very real, and it should be embraced. We all know those that choose to ignore it, and how that can look 😅

Man, between PC, Cancun, and Playa, - ive been to over 40 resorts. I'd have to think about it. Watch my top 9 and top 25 list for both Cancun and PC and that will get you going. My best hotels in PC are still coming up later this year, so...

Hey James have you considered adding captions in other languages to your videos?. I love watching your videos and I would love to watch them with my wife but she only speaks Spanish, and the type of content that you produce is something that people from all over the world is constantly looking for. It’s probably very time consuming and expensive to add captions, but it could expand your audience and views significantly and that investment will pay itself over time.

actually, it's definitely time consuming, but not as hard as it used to be due to advancements in editing and AI software. This is a great question as it speaks to my reach, which I still cant comprehend but am grateful others around the world like to travel the same way i do. I can promise this, if the channel continues to grow, this will happen.

I've noticed their prices have dropped to a level, that well, made me notice. Maybe things have changed, maybe it's a sign of the hyper competition now in that area, possibly it's just market forces as times are tough right now for a lot of people and I noticed excellence has also dropped prices significantly, or maybe we just had different experiences. I would like to go back because I had such an amazing experience, but it won't be for a while unfortunately

One big thing that stood out to us was that the resort (this go-around) was catering heavily to conferences and conventions and so the service we were receiving - even as Viento suite Aqua Club goers, just did not compare to the service that any conference goer was receiving. There were three simultaneous conferences the week we were there and the staff felt like a barebones staff. An employee shared that since they started hosting more conferences and conventions, the workers now receive much fewer tips and many people have resigned. There was hardly an entertainment team, housekeeping was not at all good, and it took up to a half hour to even get our orders taken (and we tipped!).
