Absolutely. I think a performance as good as this shows more respect to the original artist than a band just trying to imitate them. Shows a lot of talent and class.
Jay Buchanan is fucking unbelievable. He's the epitome of a rock n roll singer. His voice is beyond phenomenal. I've been a fan from the very start and ecstatic they're taking off properly now.
The first time I saw them was opening up for Halestorm. HIs voice sent shivers down my spine. Royal Thunder was the opening band and Mlny Parsonz did the same thing. Both amazing vocaliss.
They have the same look the audience in Paris did in 1971 when Black Sabbath came on the scene. They didn't know what to make of them. They were standing in front of rock brilliance and they didn't even know it at the time.
@@MrRich6505 'Cause it's a tribute at an awards show. They were probably given a short amount of time to perform. They also actually played Changes, but I guess that got cut out of the video. That's the Grammys for you.
I'm not sure why Greta Van Fleet gets all the attention as THE throwback band to see. They're very talented, but have a lot of growing to do as they still sound like a (very, very good) bunch of kids. But the Rival Sons? These guys are GROWN! And this is some of the most electric music to play at the Grammy Awards in years! I hope it signals a return to at least some rock at award shows. If you've not been out top see these guys - do it! If you have a choice of seeing GVF or these guys on the same day in different places, wait a few years on GVF, and go see the Sons now!
I assume Sabbath got to choose who opened for them on their final tour, and I'm glad they chose Rival Sons! Not a lot of people were enthusiastic about them but they have such a soulful, bluesy sound and ultimately that's the sound that shaped Sabbath (or well, Delta blues at the very least). Best show ever and seeing them cover Black Sabbath makes me happy.
Lots of new fans to a band I have followed all over the USA for 10 years. Please do yourself a favor and check out the Rival Sons entire catalog if you haven’t all ready. There is so much magic in the previous 5 albums it literally saved my life. Stay blessed
Black Sabbath was the ugly step child of rock in the 70's. they were the dark side to Led Zeppelin and other bands. Writing songs with a cynical view of the world that music needs now more than ever. I really hope this performance got some 12 year old edge lord into music like this. Same thing happened to me when I was a kid lol.
That was excellent -- I'm from that era, and that was well worth the listen... I'd wager Ozzy and the rest are all feeling the honor you're shining on them.
As this was a tribute to Sabbath, it was undoubtedly an honor for them to perform...now that RS has two Grammy nominations, let's hope they get the chance to perform their own songs live!
Finally a return to great music by great band. Not only is this good, but their own music is fantasticl. I'm happy for my sons in their 20's, they now have a band that can actually be referred to as a "rock band".
I saw Rival Sons open for Black Sabbath. They were amazing. I think even better than Black Sabbath who looked like they wanted to get it over with it as quick as possible.
I pick Rhonda of ACC apex contract contractors on angier , NC on fish drive. You know her don't you you had her nephew in the laundry room choking him to death.
I am not a big fan of Sabbath not my type of Rock and Roll. But Rival Sons do this with a slightly bluesy tint and I love it every thing including metal goes better with blues.
@@adamsjoberrg ozzy had quite a vocal range when he needs to but for some reason never showed it off that much. I mean some stuff is hard in chest voice to sing what ozzy did for a baritone.
Love these guys. First time Ive heard them do a cover (or two). Love their original stuff, reminds me of Led Zeppelin. Just ordered their latest album.
Did I see these guys in Australia supporting sabbath or maiden? They weren’t bad at all. Their own songs are great too. Regardless, it shows just how good Black Sabbath was.
