Rival Sons changed my life with this song. they opened for Black Sabbath in Denver at the Pepsi center I was 7th row and in amazement the whole set. one of my favorite bands now. thanks Ozzy for introducing me to these guys.
I saw Motley Crue and Metallica both open for Ozzy back in the 80's. That dude apparently has not lost his edge for having shockingly rad bands open up for him.
I probably wouldn’t have ever known about this band if I wouldn’t have went to see Black Sabbath in Omaha, first concert of that tour. This guy’s vocals are amazingly outstanding! Now I can recognize every time their music is played just by the opening vocals of this dude! Was a magical experience for me to witness them … ❤
I can not hear this song without weeping uncontrollably. It hits home in a way few tunes have ever managed to do. It is an unspoken truth between my wife and I that our paths once took us to very dark places neither of us will ever return to. Hats off to rival sons. You knocked this one out of the park....
One of my favorite songs of all time... been there... My question is... "how can God love me, when he knows where I've been?"... but he does, somehow... I know he does
I never liked talking about anything until I met this man that walked into my life May 29, 2014, Thanks to my woman. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't of came outta so many fears bc of him. He introduced this song to me & He never knew where I been until this day. he knows so much and helped me so much. I thank him and the creator everyday for blessing me with the most bestfriend ever. We had our ups and downs but every friendship does. Love This Song. It so goes to me. :)
It's 1979 and I just came home, back to red brick suburbia after having run away at 16. Stained, changed, older, wiser and they're all treating me like I am the same girl I was six months ago. Some things you just can't explain. Thanks guys.
I just discovered these guys last night , man I need to crawl from under my rock every once in awhile I had lost hope in Rock n Roll and any music of substance for that matter ,Thank you whatever powers that be for getting these guys together .I got a lot of catching up to do,THIS SONG REALLY TOUCHED SOME OLD SORE POTS
I actually cried at the show...I had noticed how good they were opening for Sabbath...but this last song brought my emotions to the surface...big time! I will definetely be getting this album on vinyl on Monday when I get paid. Wow...just wow!!!!! Love it!
This song is about love , A real love... no matter what , singer would always love her.. he just reminded his love by saying that no matter what she did to him.. he never did hate her.. his love just grown.. and he missed her and he always thought that she would come back to her.. because his soul is just connected to her..

She said since we've been together I tried not to keep secrets I was so lost then I don't like to talk about it Said I needed money Cause the habit wasn't cheap I gave them my body Now my memory won't let me sleep Now I lay beside you And when you touch me I feel i don't deserve you That's when you remind me She says how could you love me When you know where I've been How could you love me When you know where I've been How could you love me When you know where I've been You said when i came home I tried to put myself back together The war is still going on Now my brother is still in danger Now I'm the soldier And the tradition runs deep I gave them my body Now my memory won't let me sleep Now I lay beside you And when you touch me I feel i don't deserve you That's when you remind me I say how could you love me When you know where I've been How could you love me When you know where I've been
This song has grabbed me like no other. It’s been on repeat for days. I’ve played guitar for over a decade and never used a slide or cared to...I have one now thanks to this song. It’s a master piece of timeless music. Thank you
Knocks me out....... haven't been excited about a band in many years, but talk about having the goods!!!!!!!! Eyes up men, and rock on! To your continued success...........
i think this is my favourite rival sons song, unfortunately they didn't play it when i saw them last saturday but their performance still left me speechless and astonished, such a strong band with so much talent
Its nice to read such wonderful comments about Rival Sons and I am so glad to be a fan of this band. I still have a hard time grasping how good this band is. Total perfection from start to finish on this song this album and every track on every single one of their albums
Kinda reminds me a song of an old rock band named "Free". The song was "Don't say you love me". In fact, the similarity is insignificant, but the music style is sorta the same. Anyway, Rival Sons are an amazing band, and this whole album is by far a favourite.
This is beautiful, my son saw you in Bristol last night. My late husband played with The Faces before they were famous. My son plays in a band in Cornwall. This song has meaning, the composer is amazing as is the guitar solo. You guys are amazing. Put more on You Tube please, you have a future. Continue to entertain your followers. Good Luck for the future you will go far. 🙏🌹🙄😃
So I was listening to cody Johnson the other night doing a live stream and 5he did a cover of this song, and his only wish was for one of these guys to hear it, he does a kick arse cover of this, he doesn't think they would allow him to record it, but if you listen to his country version you will love it, he really does it justice
I watch the same live stream and he did do a kick ass version. Trying not to be biased here because CJB is my favorite but he did just as good as these guys
“How can you love me when you know where I’ve been?” Because where you’ve been is not where you are, nor is it truly who you are. You are better than that. You are more than that. We gotta love like Jesus, because it’s that kind of love that allows us to look beyond where someone has been and see them for the beautiful creation they truly are. And it’s that kind of love that can wipe away the past like none of it ever happened so it won’t be held against you/us. That’s how we can love people when we know where they’ve been. Peace.
Glad to see the comments praising these cats... If you haven't seen them live and youre a music fan...check them out...fucking phenomenal. Best rock band i've heard/seen in a very long time. \m/
There we are!:) She said since we've been together I tried not to keep secrets I was so lost then I don't like to talk about it Said I needed money Cause the habit wasn't cheap I gave them my body Now my memory won't let me sleep Now I lay beside you And when you touch me I feel i don't deserve you That's when you remind me She says how could you love me When you know where I've been How could you love me When you know where I've been How could you love me When you know where I've been You said when i came home I tried to put myself back together The war is still going on Now my brother is still in danger Now I'm the soldier And the tradition runs deep I gave them my body Now my memory won't let me sleep Now I lay beside you And when you touch me I feel i don't deserve you That's when you remind me I say how could you love me When you know where I've been
These blokes have pulled out all the stops to resurrect a band that CAN sound like the masters of Rock ....Led Zeppelin ... including vocal strength and dynamic guitarist. ENJOY Cheers to all .... Bruce ( the Doc of Rock ) ..... my son is the MikeMachine
Nah, I mean it sounds the same, but they're about two different things. Jordan was written for one of Jay's(the singer if you didn't know already but you probably did)close friend's mother passing. Where I've Been is about(I'm guessing about this one from the lyrics)feeling the guilt of the past when good things happen to you(no reference intended hehe.) Both great songs, both strike different strings in the heart (no song reference intended there either haha) and are both masterpieces.
Ben H They are in different key and even the pacing is very different, the only thing that they have in common is that it is very emotional, and melancholic. Even Jordan has a sense of hope while Where I've been doesn't.
