I do not own rights to music
Take me to the place where all things are pure. Take me to the river where we can experience change and redemption.
I originally created this piece to honor Aniah Blanchard, Kamille Cupcake McKinney, Stanley M. Turner ll, Waverly’s Grandmother. However, over the last few days, this piece has also become a dedication to all of the precious lives that have been taken too soon.. Kobe Bryant, Gianna Bryant, the other victims of the helicopter crash, & so many others.
During a time where our world needs comfort, love and unity more than ever, I chose this song, River by Leon Bridges to inspire my newest, choreographic work. A work that has come to mean so much more than a dedication but a yearn and an outcry for so many broken hearts. In Bridges words, this song is intended to be a “message of light.. I believe it has the power to change and heal those that are hurting.”
