I did not expect Chipzel to be the respectful composer of the Boss Fight tracks. Then again, the tracks are so familiar it makes you wonder that chiptunes are mostly from her...
my pre-order (um actualy my girlfriend has pre-ordered the game) is soon here and on cardridge its already under way and yes, with the soundtrack also. and i get the switch version
I knew this game was going to be awesome but I didn't expect EVERY song to be so amazing. Like the Scott Pilgrim game, I can just put this on a loop and be so happy while I work! Such an amazing job!
Fell in love with "Watch Your Back"... so many memories and nostalgia for the RCR game from NES growing up... this song is going to be the iconic represenation of RCG now for me! Love it.
This soundtrack entrances you when you play the game. A serene, focused groove. None of the Kunio-kun games or any beat-em up I know of use synth pop, but it worked tremendously well. It's definitely up there with the Streets of Rage/Bare Knuckle OSTs. Megan McDuffee is an extremely talented composer.
Some of these tracks gave me Crypt of the Necrodancer vibes. I was half expecting to hear the shopkeeper belting out some lyrics as I approached a store.
My favorite one is Noize, not only because Noize has a sad story behind, the rhythm is fantastic and the fight mechanic is nice too! The Voice is the Ann Takamaki VA so i cannot be more happy!
Lol. I've been playing this game regularly for 3 years. Got in love with Megan McDufee vocal tracks (especially Bully). Got her vinyl for "Inner Demons" (got check it out it's awesome). And it's only today that I realize that she is not only the woman who made fitting emotional songs on a 16-bits inspired games, but also the same composer who made incredibly uplifting 80-inspired songs such as "Tidal Wave". Geez girl, you just decided to revolutionize Beat Them Up music on your own.
Разрыв шаблона. Никогда не думал, что раздавать лещей в бит-эм-апе можно под медляки с нежным женским вокалом, и эти треки будут отлично подходить к творящемуся на экране. Атмосферно. Весь в предвкушении второй части.
@@misterturkturkle While it is a sequel/spin-off "River City Girls" doesn't really follow any of the Kunio kun/River City continuities. It exists in a strange sort of fused timeline
@@SonicPAJ wrong. The main characters are the girlfriends of the main characters of the central kunio kun franchise. While it takes a different focus and slight style change. Its still part of the Kunio kun series.
I feel like RCG has better combat mechanics, moves, and combos and the characters feel more focused, but Scott Pilgrim has more enemy variety, better weapons, and waaaaay better boss fights. I gotta give it to SP. Both soundtracks bop tho.
@@MeganMcDuffee I like the traditional area songs, and I love the Noize songs... but nothing tops the insane remix of the classic RCR boss theme when you fight Abobo. That's my number 1 - easily.
@@MeganMcDuffee well, thank you for your great work: some of them are cool to listen, but others, like Fancy Fight, Relentless and The Burbs gave me an insane feeling of nostalgia, as if I've heard them before. That's the reason I can't pick only one.

I’m not sure if you’re into Japanese music at all. But you should check out the Boom Boom Satellites they have music that’s similar. Just obviously in Japanese.
Megan McDuffee - Composer music in the background definitely sets the mood for a lot of people to want to come back. I’m no professional by any means and you’re doing a great job! I have noticed how a lot of the music industry can be good or bad and why people like Lil’ Wayne can get popular. Lol. Music in the background of his music is decent sounding despite him sounding off. But you sound good though so no worries there.
Megan McDuffee - Composer did you take inspiration from The original Music from River City Ransom melodies or is it mostly your own compositions? I never played The series before :)

The fact that I have to google to see if this was legit is fucking insane. And before you judge me, keep in mind the owners of Kunio are Arc System Works, the same guys who thought "XX Accent Core plus R" is a thing that exists in the english language

@@VonTaylan People still do. In fact that Records, LP’s Vinyls have been coming back the last few years. Limited Run Games and others bundle them in collection sets. I just rip the CDs and put them on my phone to listen them on the road.
This game is fucking amazing and the soundtrack reflects it. "The Hunt" is my personal favorite and whenever that shit comes on, duuuuude I can't help but to rock out!
My love for this game started with the OST. For some reason, Every song just hit home. Maybe, it was from me not thinking that this game was just an beat them up but man it was more than that. Truly an outstanding game and OST.
This OST is easily one of the top 3 or top 5 OSTs of the past decade!!! It's just amazing, i hope the sequel or trilogy arrives sooner than expected, since this game is kinda a sequel
Thank goodness for the algorithm that brought me here. I didn't know River City Ransom had a sequel?! Technos made the first one, or was it Irem? This thunderous opus is just what I didn't know I needed, and I have listened to it over and over.

@@MeganMcDuffee Could you show us the full version of the song that plays during the Misuzu dialogue? I cannot find it anywhere :( Great job by the way!
Oh god, I just recognized that Fancy Fight is a remix of that one theme that plays while you're fighting those girls at Sabu's Villa in Shin Nekketsu Kunio no baka!
Megan McDuffee - Composer Came to the comments to see if anyone shared my love of The Hunt, but didn’t expect to see you here! I discovered your stuff through this soundtrack and you’ve gained crazy respect from me for being out here in the depths of RU-vid responding to the people who are loving your music. Just want to say thanks for the music, keep doing what you’re doing, you’re absolutely killing it!
Really enjoy the music for this game. Hence why I found myself here today lol. I have always enjoyed River City games been playing alot of River City girls & Stay Cool Kobayashi, lately.
Same! Thankfully I completed the basic ending (that has the shit joke you wont understand unless you know this series more than this game) so I had to look up the true/secret ending since the game trial ended lol.
while the only complaint i can think of the game is no online multiplayer the music on the other hand... i can't think of one song i don't like. they are all great. hell all of the vocal songs, they are all top notch.
Fantastic soundtrack but I kinda wish Abobo's boss music was for the Mizuzu and Yamada (Simon) fight. Their themes are a bit jarring. For me, at least. Also Megan McDuffee's voice is amazing. Kinda like Laura Brenagan (sp?) meets Suzanne Vega meets Ellie Goulding. Love it!
the next game will be the 50th game of the series it should be something like the river city crew that puts the girls and the guys all together for a four character co op against cool shiz
