New style of video, let me know what you think and which river I should do next... Oetz trophy info - oetz-trophy.co... Follow me on Instagram - / bren.orton
Absolutely class video. Even if I never intend to run that river just listening to you talk about how you control your kayak at each feature is such an eye opener. More of these and yes a few arrow lines, highlighting of features on river would be a handy addition.
You’re really onto something with this style video. I have no plans of Kayaking there anytime soon, however, just listening to how and why you approach and attack features in real time with the video is like having that competent coach that so many of us don’t have. Extremely beneficial on so many levels. I really hope to see more of this coming soon.
Dude(s), your videos are so criminally underrated regarding the clicks. I mean... is there any better whitewater kayaking on free platforms? This channels videos have absolutely eyerything. Big up for your productions!
Love this format! Keep them coming! Very well put together. Wish there was a lot more of this sort of instructional critique for more advanced paddlers. The primary reason I'm watching kayak porn is to see what good paddlers are doing and having the voice over critique is ideal.
I just love it. You have so much soul and you have a unique gift for finding the words for the feels we all live for, and especially the words about what you are working on and focusing on the river feel. Thank you man. Just great.
I will probably never ride this river but to listen to you talk about the lines and how to approach the moves is helpful and I hope you do some more of these type videos. Very nice
Awesome video, I really love this format an wish for more! and like it has been said, definitely the best kayakin stuff out there. watching everything and learning so much! thank you!
The river copilot is an awesome idea, I love everything about this video! I wish someone would do something like this for the rivers I'm starting to get on .
Dude this is amazing!! Unfortunately I am not good enough to quite understand what you are talking about sometimes - so did you also think about making videos for grade 3 - 4? This might reach a lot of paddlers, would be really amazing to see lower levels explained by someone like you. Anyway great video, ty for sharing your knowledge! Edit: Also, as you mentionned that you are uncomfortable showing errors on your level, please keep them in, it is super interesting and inspiring to see. I mean if you feel bad cut it out, but I think it makes your videos even better. Also when you guys add scouting and reasons why you do not dare to go a certain rapid, this makes your videos much better than just great kayaking videos, it makes them real and even makes you stand out from other extreme kayakers that just seek death. Great job!!
Oh to have that level of awareness and control! Fantastic video. What I need is an earpiece and an app so that, whatever river I'm on, I can have your voice in my ear directing each stroke and manoeuvre. I'd be a pretty decent kayaker then! BTW, what boat are you paddling? A Scorch?
Nice video Bren! I really miss going to the Sickline. Hope that the Oetz Trophy is a success and that if Em is able we can once again frequent the cake shop!
Awesome video, love this format. More please. You did mention the undercut rock but, in a tutorial video like this, I would be interested in the other dangerous spots being pointed out. Just so that I know what to expect in case I mess things up terribly ,aka swim :)
I am doing my first ww race in my ripper. Anything tips you would like to share with me in terms of racing and the ripper, or just anything related to racking?
Ideas for soundtrack: 1. Mic of Breathing especially if someone is in a tight spot 2. Heartbeat ( don't know how ask cardiology people ) 3. Underwater mic for eerie underwater sounds 3.
Hello Brendon Did you paddeled in a Scortch ? I like that boat but for me as an intermediate skilled, 182lbs paddler, for many boats I am always between the M and L. As per manufacturer specs for the M at the upper limit and for the L at the lower limit. So I do not know what to choose ? Of course it also depends on what for rivers and runs but maybe you can fit all parameters together mainly for en EU class 4+ paddler with most rivers at lower water levels.
