I had no idea there was a musical and I was not familiar with Adrienne Warren. I sure as hell am aware of both now. I was not expecting that voice and by the times the strings came in, the hairs were standing on my arms and legs. She is beautiful, her voice is amazing, and I look forward to seeing more from her. This version/interpretation was f-n amazing.

I take issue with the people criticizing Warren here. Does she sound like Tina? In tone, no. However; Warren captures the basic essence of Turner. The power, the grit, and the sheer energy of Tina's vocal prowess. Adrienne honors Tina's legacy with this rendition, which does not try to imitate Tina, (an act that would be doomed to failure.) and yet, manages to channel Tina with every note. Very well done, indeed..

Some of the nasty comments on here have me wondering if we've watched the same video? Adrienne is absolutely incredible, and yes she may not be Tina Turner, but she does a bloody good job, I saw her live last night and had chills. And FYI Tina actually endorsed her to play her in the musical so she can't be that bad!

This video came on as a commercial before the ASMR video that I had planned to watch... As soon as Adrienne began to sing I had to Google her. Her voice is fantastic, it has a little of the roughness that Tina has. I would LOVE to see this on Broadway when it opens.
