It's a long time since I fished canal matches Barry, but I do remember if there were any ignorant boaters, they would get pouchfuls of maggots into the boats. Lol.

Hi Dennis. No danger of Crocs down here mate. I am around 1000km from the nearest Croc. We do get Bull Sharks in the rivers around here sometimes though.😆👍

I don't think we'll be wearing them for much longer John. The nights are getting pretty cold and daytime temps are only around 17 degrees at the hottest part of the day. It's offically Winter here in 2 weeks time.

I've never used PVA mesh or bags for this kind of thing Phillip. Do you weigh them down with stones or something?

@@FishingwithDen I have done on a flow but in still water no it seems to drop quick enough depends on the depth.

@@FishingwithDen I didn't realise there was so many inland lakes etc in Oz Den.The farthest north I ever got was Lakes Entrance in Victoria.The water looked great,but I didn't swim in it because it looked like Bull shark alley.Saw three massive rays coming up the estuary of the Murray in Adelaide.I lived in Whyalla for a while,(in the 60's)seems like Whyalla is a game fishing attraction now.Nice job on the boat,mine's a 14ft broom speedboat that I've converted for sea fishing (UK) Gad to see your chanal is doing well on Utube.

Things are different down here, where the waters are hardly ever fished for Carp, we have 3 day festivals where massive amounts of groundbait are introduced in that period. We find that the fishing gets better every day during the course of the festival. Far from being sated, they are queuing up for the bait by the end.

I think you vastly over estimate how easy it is to feed off fish in flowing warm water. That little volley from Den won't have touched the sides.

Btw Den did you consider putting any molehill soil in to get it down in that depth?

@@richardtuxford1812 I think the moles all got drowned in the flood Richard. All that's left everywhere is fine sand. 😂 Good point though.

@@FishingwithDen 😂 aquatic moles then 😅😅 sand would definitely do the trick if you had a binder, molasses maybe? Or bentonite if not
