River North a subsection of greater downtown Chicago lies north of Chicago River across from the Loop. Bounded by Division, Wabash street and the River, River North has been a top destination for Chicagoans and visitors that want to experience nightlife especially around Hubbard and Kinzie Street. It is also known as the River North Gallery District which holds highest concentration of galleries in the US outside of Manhattan NYC. Lots of residential towers hotels and loft conversion has occurred in the past decades. Merchandise Mart and the Marina Towers are some of River North"s iconic structures.

Wow, with how empty the streets were I thought that this was filmed during 2020 after the pandemic hit the US O_o I was working downtown this past March and I remember on my last day coming in (before I was laid off) it was the week of the first lockdown and I remember walking to my office building and the streets were just empty. I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone, I'd never seen my city void of activity before. But nevertheless, I plan on moving to this area of the city by next year. I used to daydream about it, thinking that I would never make enough money or be "good enough" to live in that part of the city. But I'm committed to making that daydream a reality soon. I know every city has it's cons but I absolutely love Chi-Town!

Few protests here and there. 4th phase opening this week after coronavirus shutdown. Outdoor eating area open. Quite few streets closed off to accommodate for outdoor eating.

Sterile and over developed. Growing up in the hood nearby you couldn’t wait for Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays to walk around eating, drinking, laughing and watching Chicago’s beautiful people. All types and not too much trouble, but honestly it’s painfully bland and devoid of character, what happened? Thanks for the ride but I’ll hold on to my memories!

Great video. It shows how totally incompetent CDOT is that they cannot even get one way streets traffic signals coordinated with one another. I've seen better progression in Kentucky than this. That's pathetic.
