River Plate is one of the most supported and successful clubs in Argentina and is based in the capital city of the country, Buenos Aires, in the neighborhood of Belgrano. They play at “Estádio Monumental” stadium, which has the capacity for around 70000 people and is the biggest one in Argentina.
River is known for having very passionate and loud fans (as it is usual in Argentina and South America) that often create an extremely intense atmosphere when their team plays, especially on big matches. They do it in the “Argentian style” with the stands being fulled of a “beautiful chaos” with loud songs, pyrotechnics and much passion.
In South America the most fanatical supporters groups are normally called “Barra Bravas” instead of Ultras. The Barra of River is called “Los Borrachos del Tablón” and is one of the biggest, most famous and feared in Argentina.
River Plate biggest rival is Boca Juniors, whom they play the very famous all over the world Buenos Aires Derby. This game always has a lot of tension and a very hot and loud atmosphere.
