Mamamoo is known as a group with very strong and powerful vocals. In Korea, they dont consider 'idols' as singers because they have a differentation between idols and singers. They think idols cannot sing and they're just purely visuals and dance but Mamamoo was the first group that broke that kind of thinking or stereotype.

I saw people recommending their last song Egoistic (which is an absolute BOP and I love it) but you might want to check some of their previous songs, because Mamamoo had a lot of swing/blues/jazz influence since their debut and it's always amazing.

You got the girl groups who do cutesy mv’s, there’s the bad ass girl crush concepts , and I like mamamoo because their music seem to have a more maturity to it no matter what concept they do

Most kpop groups seemed different accordingly to their concepts but mamamoo are hell of a talented group with great vocals .

The song probably reminds you of Prayer in C - but it's not sampled, it does use same/similar instrumentation as well as chord progression. Melodies and overall structure are different though. Just some background information: Mamamoo are largely known and are popular for their strong performance/stage presence and vocals , as well, they usually don't stick to one concept and are always branching out and exploring different genres. Their song, "Paint Me" (recommend!) was the introduction to their 4 seasons 4 colors project this year, where they are releasing a new album revolving around each season; a color representing each member. This one was from their Spring album, "Yellow Flower" - and they recently released a new one called "Red Moon" - With their title track "Egotistic". I hope you check out more of their music :)

You need to watch a video of them harmonizing! IT IS LITERALLY THE BEST THING IN THE WORLD! They even harmonize their introduction being like! “I said mama-mama-moo...”

the last part of the mv is a snippet of one of the members, hwasa, titled '"be calm". you should really listen to it! the song is very calming and "tranquil" 😊😊😊

Wanted to say this before you continue if you read this: The ending song that was different is actually Hwasa’s focus solo song for the album as she’s the main focus with her color being yellow and Hwasa meaning flower. They use harmonization a lot and have 4 singers and one is the main rapper while another is a sub rapper. This year they’re releasing 4 ALBUMS! They’re fandom name is MooMoo’s and their lightstick is the radish :P They come from RBW entertainment which is known to produce very talented singers and rappers. They’re controversial however because some people believe that they aren’t an Idol group. However, they are also known as the group that broke the stereotype that Idols can’t perform live as they’re known as the “vocal Queens” on stage. Please react to “Egotistic” and their live stages as they’re mesmerizing. They are also very goofy on and off stage as they are so down to earth and amazing! You can actually find that behind the scenes for this music video, they stopped filming and on their break sang to this family and it was the cutest thing ever! He's from a group called SHINee, but this is the title track off his most recent solo album. It has a cool, sensual vibe I think you'd guys like and the choreo is great! :D

'MAMA' means mother. So it means that we want to approach our listeners organically and instinctively with our music." and then the "moo" part means radish in Korean (무; mu) so you'll see fans wearing radish masks at their concerts (a little low key creepy lol). You should see their introduction too! All K-Pop groups have introductions and theirs is one of my favourites! The harmonies are just LNJVEJWBV ❤️❤️❤️ I fell in love with them BECAUSE they are so different ❤️ I would def recommend checking out their newest single Egotistic because FIIIIIIRRRREEE ❤️ Wow! Mammamoo knows how to sing actually .They are considered to be the Korean favourite idol girls group and more popular only in Korea but unfortunately not in other countries where only the nontalent groups getting popularity and why mammamoo is still the Korean fav group of this era! means it still gives that vibes of old generation k pop which is actually doing justice to the "K" in k pop unlike other idol groups are into western.i am a second generation k pop fan in a simple the 2ne1 period and i feel mamammo still give me the hopes that k pop still exist and this the actual k pop which we don't see in frequent groups now.❤ Mammamoo is a combo of 2ne1+ sistAr+secret only if aware who they are❤❤

LGBT touch Kpop MV yo gotta react to Bad Boy - Red Velvet

You were right when you said the tune was familiar. This song and the dance track you mentioned sampled that part from the same beat/same producer. It was discussed once when people compared both tracks together. You should try to watch their live performance for this song. Hwasa (the brunette) sounds amazing when she sings live. They all do, honestly. There was another girl group that was also different compared to others but had similar vibe to Mamamoo named SPICA. You would love them too.

In my opinion, Mamamoo is THEE BEST female kpop vocal group right now. They are not the typical kpop group, they are considered more as a group comprised of 4 artists than just a pop group. They don’t stick to one genre, they try different ones because they have the talent and the pipes. Please do check out their other songs. Egotistic is their latest release and I think you’ll enjoy it.

Something about Mamamoo that I don't know if you guys know is that they write their own lyrics, they also help produce the songs, they also most of the time choreograph their dances and I know hwasa also helps with her stage outfits and on top of that they're amazing vocalists that never lip sync (except for one time and they laugh about it now because it was was funny, they said they weren't used to it and are bad at it so they don't do it). This is definitely what makes them different to other groups in my opinion.

Kpop used to be just very pop songs but over the years it’s completely change. Most ppl described Korean pop now as a blend of different music genres usually a mix of two to three. Sometimes groups stick to one concept or switch it up each single but most of time you would get Kpop groups whose style are more: hip hop/pop, rnb/pop and edm/pop. Mamamoo are a Kpop group and song will technically be considered pop.

Thanks for reacting to them! Mamamoo is a very different group from the typical kpop groups. All the members can sing, rap, compose, write lyrics, choreograph and produce. They are very hands on, they are more of artist rather than idols. If you check out their discography you'll be really surprise. They don't stick to one genre and explore; Jazz, retro, hiphop, pop, ballad, r&b, etc... It is even consider that Mamamoo is a concept. If you can, can you please react to their live performance?? K-pop is not only one genre. It is like a big space with a lot of influence from all musicians from the past mixes with Korean traditions and society aspects.

Something I just wanted to add because I love these girls so much, but in the industry, Mamamoo are widely acknowledged as Artists rather than idols. During SBS Taipei Concert this year, they were the only group out of the whole lineup to have solo stages for each of their members. To date, they are also the only girl group to ever win an Immortal Songs 2 episode, a show focused on having singers sing old classics by a certain artist and are usually pitted against each other in a 1v1 style. They always sing live. The general public refers to them as ‘BeLisMaMoo’, due to the fact that they have never disappointed during a performance in the years since their debut.

Mamamoo is a vocal heavy group, they are regarded as one of the best vocal groups in South Korea, literally their vocals are insane, they always sing live and its insane how stable and strong their vocals are, you guys should react more to their songs! And maybe even some of their live performances (I recommend their Immortal Songs performances)

Mamamoo is a South Korean girl group formed by RBW in 2014, composed of four members: Solar, Moonbyul, Wheein, and Hwasa. The group officially debuted with their single "Mr. Ambiguous" on June 18, 2014. Their debut was considered by some critics as one of the best K-pop debuts of 2014.

Every kpop band has songs that are different and tunic to a specific genre. Not all of their albums and songs are the same, which makes kpop great. Every band can change their tune so you honestly never know what you're gonna get from a band. Always a surprise. That's why you can't just listen to one song of a band and know what they are. They are all diverse and can change their genre at their will. They go with the trends.
