Mendoza wasn’t asking Diaz to get 7 outs. The problem is Diaz only got 2 outs.

Can someone tell Michael Kay his Yanks just lost to the Royals!!! Mets are facing maybe the best team in the MLB and they legit have a shot here at a big upset these next 2 games even though we lost a tough one!!!

Diaz 7th, but not Diaz 8th. maybe, just maybe use Garrett. But Mcgil's Gotta throw a better 0-2 slider !!! Period!! Glad Don brought up

This game was typical of a Philly game where you just knew the last team to bat was going to win.. Neither team had much out of the pen.. the idea that guys do extra stuff in the playoffs is not unusual and its not why the Mets lost.

How is big head in a baseball role? He knows nothing about baseball. Diaz was not going to get 7 outs. At best he would have gotten 4 outs

Not sure how you can blame Mendoza for that one. Aside from Diaz there’s really no one to trust. Bringing Diaz in early was fine and you were just praying to hold. What else could you do there ?
