Rivets Aylesbury Mandeville Road, HP21, Aylesbury before It was demolished.
Video taken 5th June 1997.
My father worked at the Bifercated & Tubular Rivet Company (Aylesbury Automation) / Rivets for many years and retired in the late 1990's.
This video is taken shortly before the demolition work started and the land was turned into housing.
The factory closed for good about 3 months before this video was taken.
At the start of the video you can see my trusty old white Volvo 760GLE saloon parked up at the main entrance. This piece of road is the only legacy of the Rivet Works factory that is left. All other traces have been erased.
The garages were vandalised and the up & over doors were stolen by travellers. My dad's garage was number 15 ( as seen in the video at 7:36)

MY DAD WAS THE GROUNDSMAN THERE FOR A FEW YEARS. I USED TO GANG MOW THE CRICKET PITCH FOR HIM WHILE HE PLAYED BOWLS FOR THE COUNTY WHILST A DRIVER AT DCA INDUSTRIES ANOTHER SORELY MISSED PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT. THANKS FOR SHARING..

I did my apprenticeship here, 1961-1966. Played cricket for them. My dad worked in the plating shop for many years. He played bowls for them. good old days.

Nice one - i worked there for nearly 20 years and was still there (in AA) when you shot your vid. My whole family worked there since 1910..... search for rivet and see mine!
