I like that you use simple melodic leads over your stuff on the intro tune. Simplicity itself is underrated! . I'm building a guitar (clone) of this very model. I bought a set of Nickel Gretsch P90's for it but I wonder if they are at all close to the Novanta pickups?
Great vid - especially in showing of what this is capable of. That neck looks really WIDE to me. Did you find that to be the case, or is that an optical thing because of the 'full length' fret markers?
In addition to all the great features of this guitar, it also has a nice large size body. So, it doesn't look like you are playing a little toy guitar, as with some other major brands.
Are the fret inlays really yellow or is that just the lighting? I have my eye on a burgundy mist on Reverb right now. What are the issues with the trem?
I prefer the revstars neck by a lot personally, just a shape thing for me, but they're honestly in the same category in terms of quality i'd say, maybe a slight edge to the revstar
I’m not sure off the top of my head, I’ve never put it in a scale, but my guess is somewhere around what you’d expect a Jazzmaster to weigh. It’s lighter than it looks but not LIGHT.
Do you ever play any Gilmour type lines? Just wondering if it would stay in tune better when used in a more Pink Floyd manner vs a Floyd Rose. Better or at least the same as a Bigsby, would you say? I've had my eye on one of these for a year or so, but trying to decide if I wanted the trem or not. On the older ones, like your model, you can just put a standard stop tail on it with no permanent mod. I just saw a new one and looks like the non-trem models only come w/ a wrap around bridge like the Combinata Junior has.
This is a classic style trem, it is not made for dive bombing, it’s for a different type of vibrato from finger vibrato. It’s better than a Bigsby. #opinion
