No...Jafaicans dont just reside in London nor are they usually of Jamaican decent..hence the word JAFAICAN. Its really funny how people outside the culture want to label those who dont speak how THEY assume ALL Jamiacans to speak as fake. Like an Irish guy who doesnt speak with an Irish accent is any less Irish...lol. And who decides whats fake more than the authors? Windrush was 50 years ago but you're supposed to sound just like your grand ma or youre fake...lol. Do you know the difference between patios and accent? If you do then you'll know that the accent can and often changes depending on location. Jamaicans from Jamaica sound different to those living in the U.S. , Canada or the UK. That doesnt make them fake tho. Patios is different too even in Jamaica but only somebody invested in the culture would know this..otherwise EVERYBODY is fake then, no? Lol. Thanks agian tho...Ali G...lol. Michael Caine...lol.
Not to mention that the English are often more ignorant when it comes to learning new styles of play. I’m referring to those Premier League fans who claim every other league is a “farmers league” despite never watching them. They’re not willing to learn like others, they still feel like they own the world.
Utter nonsense, Mandanda isn't French, Umtiti isn't French then you have all the players like Payet and Lemar who weren't born in France but are French . some of your top capped players aren't French or weren't born in France and. Most of the players have African parents or grandparents. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with this, just don't like hypocrites who think France have some magical system when really its just a lot of African blood
England looks for Athletes in their football but other countries look for technical qualities, that’s even countries like Iceland or even Japan are technically superior to us
+Chandler It was sarcastic. Whenever you read something like this on youtube, don't take it so seriously. What I took from it is that Mahrez annunciates his words much better than Kane. People from different parts of the world are not used to certain accents. I am from America and struggle sometimes with how Scottish people speak.
I like how the journalist said “go on” when Mahrez started talking about playing football in the streets compared to England. That was indeed a very interesting answer.
@@akmedia8206 I can't comment much about today, but kids in England used to play football outside. I grew up near a park so I was lucky to have a space to play football. Things seem to have changed in the past 20 years, but hopefully more time and space to play will happen in the future.
Absolute agree with Mahrez I have personal experience where I live in England but never played football out but when I visit my family in Paris me and my cousins would consistently play football from 10 in the morning to 10 in the evening the street football culture in France is more alive than England
Same with me, I lived in Spain a large portion of my life, and football was played outdoors on the street every day. I thought maybe it was the weather, but Frace and mainland Spain also get pretty cold.
Its true, kids just don't play on the street anymore. As a kid I used to play football all day all night with my friends. It was common everywhere but kids nowadays just want to play on Fifa than the actual game. Its sad.
it's just not Fifa, if you go to parks now theres no where to play football properly most astro turfs are locked and theres no where free to just kick about which is close and believe im 19 I've had to sneak on to astro turfs everytime I've wanted to play, most surburb areas are now no ball game areas its annoying because I would actually play everyday if there was somewhere local thats free and if you disagree with this comment search hackney marshes football pitch 1951
Xavi H. What you on about I could only play like max 1 hour you fool the kids in France can sleep there and wake up and play we can’t, there needs to be more money in grass roots you absolute pleb
INS WERE well this can’t be in a big city because there’s no place in a big city that will have 10 goal posts like mahrez said for the best players big cities

In Algeria there is a street playing but no professional football structures In England there's a professional football structures but no street playing In France they have both Talent's issue explained .. thank you Mahrez
Anthony Joshua just created a football pitch with EA SPORTS now. He's not even a football player, but he realises the need for kids to have a free place to practice their craft and to just be active period. More sports stars should take it upon themselves to make things like that happen. The government clearly can't get to everything so individuals with the means need to do their part as well. 2️⃣❌🥊🥊🥊
@@homasas4837 Bullshit ? It isn't ... i never said Ile de France wasn't paris. I said that Ile De france is like Rio de Janeiro because the football culture is huge in that area ...
@@reiito8727 football culture is the same in Paris then in the rest of the France. It's just that 1/4 of population live there so there are obviously more good players. Paris foot culture isn't better then Marseille or Lyon one.
@@homasas4837 "Paris foot culture isn't better then Marseille or Lyon one". You can say the same thing for Brazil. Just because a lot of talent are found in Rio De Janeiro don't mean that the rest of Brazil is bad. Just because i said it's huge in "ile de France", don't mean that it's only in "ile de France" Brazil as whole country live and breath football. Is just that Rio De Janeiro produce a lot as Ile de France. This doesn't mean that rest don't produce talent. I just compared both cities.
Because in England they only pick players who have the “connections “ . There are so many good footballers in the rougher parts of London and etc & they get overlooked deliberately. Also, the coaching doesn’t allow flair players to express themselves whilst learning the game at the same time , they reduce the skills and focus too much on physicality
Instead of technique , which is why England only have few players who are technically gifted like Barkley , wilshere, Sturridge , lallana whilst other countries have so many versions of these players
its like that in all of the English sports its not how good you are its who you know players from ethnic backgrounds have to try even harder because they're family may not know anyone in that sector
Bro i just read your comment and you are 100 % right . I am glad that there are people like you who really understands the football system in this country. As a footballer myself, I was born in France but grew up in England. I've realized that the English game doesn't promote technique and skills . I know so many young Africans and Carribean that are so talented but they are overlooked many times. The difference between england and france is that france have an eye for potential talent , they always want to improve . If you look at the england national team , we have nobody with the skill or technique , its always about physicallity and long balls . Honestly, other nations look at england and they laugh at us , because they think that we are playing rugby.
I think the main reason England doesn't produce a lot of world class players is cos the football is too strructured. They promote kids to do everything by the books whereas countries like brazil, spain, france etc players have fun with the game first and foremost and that brings out the creativity in their game. So when they grow up and add stature to their game, the creativity is instilled. Maybe that creativity comes with playing in the streets like my guy said. Also off topic: anyone clocked that there are so many (south) asians in england but you barely see them playing pro football? Ive always wondered why that is
We are not disciplined enough for the football, plus parents are not really supporting, they want to see their kids thrive in Education than in a sport But things are changing , let's start with with curry
Faiz Miah i honestly think if Indian Football League gets established with maybe 1/10 of its population's support. They could become serious threat in Asia.
@@josedelapaz522 you're right, it's scary out there. The community has to be out there too, watching over the kids. If everyone is barricaded indoors, the street will be claimed by fear, suspicion, and consumerist interests.
Being myself born in a suburb of Paris, I can confirm that we used to play almost everyday football as kids till high-school :) I grew up in a disadvantaged suburb, but we had football grounds all around the city (5 a side, 7 a side, and even regular 11 a side pitches) accessible 24/7 for free. And it is exactly how he said it: We would watch older guys as kids, and jump in as soon as they were done playing, practice on the side while waiting (skills, juggles etc...). Some players of my city even made it and became pros. Good old times :)
Arjun Wijayaratnam You will never find such in England. The things the children know how to do is to use expensive luxuries, smoke at a very young age, having teenage pregnancies and stabbing. They get free money from government and sell cracks to fund their illegal business
@@austinb5141 I grew up playing football every day with my friends (I'm only 20 so wasn't long ago) plus my younger brother who is 12 plays everyday with his friends. Where are you from? England got to the semi final of the world cup so we ain't that bad lol plus not just football we have the 5th best economy in the world/ top 5 most powerful countries in the world and we are a tiny country. How can are economy be so high if we are all druggies who just smoke all day? Have a day off Austin
austin b So accurate lol I shouldn’t be laughing but the England culture is a joke right now. I blame the TV for making shows like 16 and pregnant popular which encourages more young people to do stuff like that.
It's even worse in America in order for a kid to be a pro footballer the first thing they gotta have is the privilege of money if they don't have that they're basically fucked and have to find another job. Second you'll never see kids here play for the fun of the sport because that's how you love the sport they treat it as a recreational sport that doesn't matter to them and that's how they've never won the WC. I myself play as much as possible but the weather of this place restricts me and finding a club team is hard because again you need money for that but I still wanna be a pro
Douaa diy : all for girls yes exactly, cause he’s a good Muslim who prays five times a day everyday and reads Quran and donates to charities on a daily basis. Good bless him and bless all the good hearted Muslims!

he’s right..pitches in england are basically a commodity and most young people have to pay a lot just to step on to one for like an hour of play. it’s a joke especially since we’re meant to be the home of football and have the biggest/most profitable league in the world
France have always had a better grass roots system, that's why. Claire Fontaine is a gold mine for nurturing top players, their track record is there for everyone to see. Just look at the endless conveyor belt of top players they've produced over the decades.
French league also is much more fit to develop new talents than the Premier League. English like to call it a "farmers league" but it's more like a "talents league". French clubs don't have the money to buy international superstars so they have to scout local talents. Once these talents prove themselves to be great players they can't afford them anymore so they lose these players to rich EPL clubs and top Spanish/Italian/German clubs and so they have to scout and find new talents.
That's it. The poor classes are always playing in the streets dreaming to be a professional one day. This happens in every country, but in France is something special like in Brazil. Maybe is the necessity.
Lion Atlas That’s not true at all ! Kids in the french projects play football all day long because they love it, not because they dream to become pro one day. It’s really not because they are poor.
@@59DGO59 bro, now I'm living in Spain but I used to live in a project in France for the first 16 years of my life. You can't understand our feeling and like Mahrez said, all the kids dream to become a pro one day. Tell me only one kid who loves football and he doesn't wanna become pro and also keep in mind that most of them are poor.
Lion Atlas All the kids playing football dream of becoming pro one day, yes but that’s regardless of wether they play all day or not, regardless of wether they are poor or not, and regardless of wether they come from the project or not. Also, yes they are poor (relatively to the french standards, most of them are rich relatively to the world standards), but that does not explain why they play football all day. Youngs in the french projects don’t have less opportunities than other frenchmen. If they don’t see opportunities for themselves other than becoming football pro, that’s because of cultural poverty rather than economic poverty.
J That’s a myth. If people from the projects are « more adept dealing with adversity », why are there few of them having good jobs and descent salaries ? Why are there so many of them failing at year 1 of university compared to middle class students ?
The king is only one Algerian ,and he is the best ever existed ,and his name is Zinedine zidane,he is my idol long live to the legend ,I like mahrez is quiet good player
100% right! Use to visit France every summer when I was young and I would spend every day of summer playing football outside with ballers. Will never forget
At least Iwobi performs. Yeah he’s not Mahrez but arsenal haven’t got the money or the attraction of Man City so why would Mahrez join a dead club like arsenal when he’s won the premier league more recently than them. City>>arsenal
If more top english talents played in foreign leagues I think England could be the best in the world. Take Chris smalling he's now smalldini after playing half a season in serie a
English footballers are too insular to consider playing abroad. Plus most foreign teams are not interested in signing English players as they have poor technique and are tactically naive.
It costs way too much to become a coach in England, while it’s relatively cheap in places like Germany. Who produce the best coaches? Not England, and I wonder why that is.
Same thing happens in Latin America. Kids, specially in poor neighborhoods, are doing nothing but chasing a soccer ball. I have seen it. There is more talent there than many academies in the UK combined. That is why they produce so many top players. The pool of talent is immense.
When I was a kid, in the fifties/sixties all we did was play football; thus England world cup winners 1966! You won't learn how to play football watching telly...
Kids these days, when I was young I was out every day from when school ended to when my ma called me in. Now my streets are empty because kids are too busy on their phones and playing Fortnite
I as a child find it very unfair everytime my parents tell me how when they were my age they would go out, play football, bike to a friends house without any adult supervision. I wish i could play football all day but i cant bc my it isnt safe anymore and where are we suppose to play anyway, where i live the only football pitches have a cost and obviously i cant afford to pay. I just wish i could get out of my house more but i cant bc my parents work and i only go out saturdays and sundays to football practice but that aint enough time playing if i actually want to make it.
@Stephen Ja first of all, i dont have a garden, second of all not everyone lives in mansions like you that have super big hallways. Also lets say i did have a big hallway like you said, it aint the same playing and training by yourself in a hallway than playing with friends in a PITCH that is meant for football.
Mahrez26 is a Top Player he put in gd years at Leicester and created History with that Legendary Squad that won the Title🏆and now he finally gets his move to a Big Club fair play to him Quality signing for Man City⚽👏
There are opportunities but there aren't enough facilities for kids to play football for free. I used to sometimes sneak in to 5 a side because it was so expensive to play. Just checked now and it can cost between £70-80 to rent a pitch for an hour in some places, which is a joke.
With France is like everyone is welcome it doesn’t matter what skin colour you are as long you’re born there you’re French. There’s a lot of carribean players in the england squad but they barely take African players Welbeck is the only African players in the england squad
Glory that's nonsense, black players in England are all just seen as black, most white British coaches don't even see the difference between African and Carribbean blacks
That's a very good point. I hadn't even noticed. I think English players of African decent (if they are there) can represent African teams which are of a better standard than Caribbean teams.
Gridungur if u are born in japan and live there your hole life yes , with that same ideology tell that to the millions of whites that migrated to USA Australia New Zealand Argentina or other new world countries they are not form there
Gridungur there where people before those colonizers came in all those countries . And um Tallking about European immigrants that came during the 19 and 20 century to those Countries, why can they be considered form there with your argument ? It’s funny how when white peoples immigrate for a better life yeah it’s ok but when other races do so it’s seen badly really dumb , my 4 grandparents where European immigrants but this pisses me of

Mahrez parents are Algerian Zidane parents are Algerian Mbappe mother is Algerian Dozens of players in Europe are of algerian origine Does this say something?
It says that a lot of algerian immigrated to France trought the years. like in Allemagne where a lot of turks immigrated, and you can see this : gundogan, ozil
That’s so true . I live in France and I can tell you there’s so many stadiums everywhere. Everyone is playing football all the time even during a break at school people are playing football.
Hes got a point but another main reason is that France have a massive immigration rate and immigrants that main sport is football. Frances squad had 80% African footballers and in general Algerian and Senegalese is the most ethnic group. In England the biggest ethnic groups are Polish and Indian/Pakistanis who prefer cricket. France relys mainly on immigrants.
man city football Well dosen't England have a lot of jamaicans in their population, which many of them end up also playing football, even playing in the national team, and some africans as well? Majority nigerian?
I get it with the immigrant population in France but cricket is nowhere near as popular as football in the uk so I doubt that has an effect on the amount of talent coming from the uk
Yes but a lot of these players are born in France. This immigration rate has been existent for years and England there has been a lot too. In France they’re willing to go to these inner city areas to discover footballers. France they play football on every street. Literally everywhere no matter the environment. England you need a cage with Astro-turf pitch. My overall point is that immigration is a reason but it’s one of many.
man city football Why are people getting offended? In no way is he saying they aren’t French, he’s just saying the footballers are from immigrants. Th majority of the French team isn’t pure French blood. Same for other countries.
England and Germany produce Academic football, kids learn the game in clubs and club academies, while Spain, Portugal , France, Italy African and South American countries have street football, that's why most of England and Germany's legends are very straight square and smart players, great passers and shooters, (Becks, Gerrard, Lampard, Shearer, Scholes, Matheus, Kroos, Effenberg, Shweisteiger.......) while countries that have street football produce more technical, sneaky, entertaining footballers, stuff you could only learn in the streets, like nutmegs, Rabonas, Sombreros, roulettes, Flip-Flaps....hence players like Zidane, Ronaldinho, Cristiano, Brazilian Ronaldo, Baggio, Messi, Di Maria, Iniesta, Robinho, Denilson, Okocha, Eto'o and the list goes on and on ....
What makes you think they would get picked? Aubameyang and Mahrez are clever players they chose not to play for France because they knew they might not be good enough...
This is exactly it... cage footballers, the ones playing in the council estate courts, playing out on the street everyday and can dribble past 25 man in a play ground built for 7vs7 max are this countries best hopes.. It's a humbling up bringing .... Saka and Foden are the proof and it had needed to be valued from decades ago
D J lol... this man went from the French 7th division to 2nd division to LCFC in the EFL and two year later boom PL title, POTY, and like five individual titles!
the real joy of playing football is not playing at a fancy pitch or beautiful grass field with the shining boot, it's actually about a play at tight neighborhood asphalt ground with friends you grow up with, there is no time limit, only sun come down then its time to go home, that's real joy I grow up. Mahrez explains very accurately, basic football technic and the best skill all can adapt from that street play.
France has always been an international team. Many players from different ethnic backgrounds. It’s basically a migrant culture to play football with your neighbours in the street.
migrant culture ? These kids are french, their parents/gd parents have moved to France. Like polish, italian or spanish persons. How long are we supposed to track someone s roots ?
I didn't know that mehrez is actually french that means he didn't learn to play football in Algeria but in France but it is nice for him to play for Algeria not for France.
France produces more class players because unlike England it actually gives its home grown brown players a chance. Take a kid called Adil nabi who was young player of the season for west brom but was never given a chance to represent them. Shipped off to a league one team in Peterborough united and then released without being given a chance. A greek side in OFI signed him, has become a regular in that with man of the match performance's helping them reach third in the greek top tier(also scored against olympiakos). He could potentially be playing in Europa league next season.
The problem here is too much KFC, Burger king and MacDonald 😲😲. Young boys and girls having babies they can't take of , thereby end up living in the council house. Over hype and drug addiction. This are my opinion 🤔🤔
I'm almost 19 and i still play in streets with my friends you have to pay if you want to play in a pitch :/ and i promised my self that i will go hard to achive what i want
A lot of French aren't originally french and its doesn't mean that they are not french. When you live all of your life in a country, for me you are part of it. And the double culture is great it's enriching and it may be their strength too.
He isn't half french he is half algerian and half moroccan he only lived his whole life in france & his family too that's why he considers himself france too
Sterling, rashford, dele ali, alexander arnold, sturridge, delph, rose, lingard, Sancho, Walker, Gomez, Young, Welbeck, Abraham, loftus cheek, Chamberlain, callum wilson, chabloah ... Look at all these white caucasian european pure british players 😂😂😂
Everything he said about England makes sense. Every other country that loves football, kids play outside all the long and that explains a lot why England doesn't have a strong national team. It's ok for kids to go to football school at early age, but you also need to be free and play without being concrol by anyone, just get on the street with your friends and be a little selfish. And this is how the baddest player to ever play soccer started
