The demo shows how you can merge multiple tracks sending to different MIDI channels (5, 7, 6, 8, 9 and 10) into one single track. Does this also work for the Program Changes set on those different tracks? And what about the max polyphony?
Yes a single track can hold all commands for 16 midi channels al together. Notes, aftertouch, pitch, CC’s program changes, sysex (although that’s not channel specific). With the new ‘queued mute’ modes you can also just press a Track and the RK008 will playback this whole stored sequence instantly
@@RetrokitsDev that’s awesome! 😎 Then I will get one for sure 👍🏻 Exactly what I’m looking for. Not only to sequence my gear, but also to trigger other sequencers.
1 midi channel can play a lot of melodies but is generally bound to one type of sound (unless it is a patch on the synth which has for example a bass/chord split mode or if it is a drum channel). On the rk008 you can have any midi channel on any track so you can combine melody parts across the tracks if you wish
You can set the transpose value to ‘99’ on a track which will then change in ‘PRF’. If you set the RK008 in performance mode (ALT+ROUTE) you can now transpose multiple tracks by playing notes on the RK008 midi control channel
