It almost seemed like he was stuck in a maze with people pulling him in different directions. Then he meets himself, represented by the girl. Now he’s happy and finds his way out of the maze. It’s an amazing song.
He created the MV based on the book called Mid night library. He's here has many different lives. He regretted all the choices he made. He's unhappy with the life he is living so he tried to kill himself. The girl at the door is the librarian, she showed him his other lives that might happen if he chose differently in the past. After experiencing many lives, he realized all the choices he made might be not that bad. Maybe he's not scared to be failed, he's just scared to live. I'm reading that book and it somehow change my point of view in many aspects. I feel related to the main character. I admire RM's creation and how he impact me in a good way.
I'm reading the book too! So far many similarities. Doors have always had a lot of symbolism. The door with the three different colored circles could mean past, present and future. Triptych architecture in history has also had symbolisms for past, present and future or for harmony like life and death, man and woman, ying and yang, the moon and the sun with the middle piece being the connection, our enlightenment, a third eye, a doorway to inner happiness. Also the different colors and lighting keep changing and I believe when they finally go through the door the three colors on the door are red, green and blue and I know RM has mentioned RGB before. He's also mentioned multiverses and reading The Midnight Library. Yay!
"Right Place Wrong Person" is the name of his new project/album. It's in the alternative genre. Billboard did an interview with the director. It's worth reading.
Love this. Like BTS led the way to show a group of artists, industry outsiders can do the impossible and make it big not obeying the rules. RM proves you dont have to sell out. You can be the artist you want. My theory in RMs work every mix tape and album is different from the last. His first self titled mix tape the track DO YOU( the song that says clearly he refuses to be labelled or boxed into any genre). He is continuously pushing boundaries. In a way thats what is also happening in the mv. RM wanders around depressed confused and unhappy through all these potential different lives and expectations never being comfortable. We see this has been so since he was small. At some point he becomes more comfortable in each scenario after being united with his other half/ self, and he can be more comfortable with others. But he still doesnt stay, he moves on finds himself and accompanies the woman( his other half Jung or Plato?) out of the maze of societies expectations to find non of it's real. In the light he sees its all fake sets designed and created by someone else. However with RM there is always light at the end. Hope of better futures now he can see what life is about, he is free of those boxes. There are several clues for ARMY buried within the MV. Pain Devine. During a conversation piece with Pharrell Williams they discussed judging lyrics by how painful they are to produce ...pain divine, devine inspiration?
Different scenarios in his life: childhood, girlfriend, wife/child family, single. Maybe the woman RM follows, represents ARMY/the stage, where he feels like Namjoon the most? Hmmmm......... It reminded me of J-Hope's MV "More", both guys in/out different rooms and walking in a hallway with multiple doors. In the end: J-Hope was looking at the different rooms inside a box. RM's rooms were bigger and exposed. Yes, RM definitely deeper with his lyrics and thought. RM and Suga are the "power couple" when writing songs!!!! 👏🔥🎉💜💜😎
Joon goes through many phases in life where he feels unsatisfied. Then he meets the girl (who represents his anima - his feminine energy (you can see it clearly when the camera shows this girl as himself) so then when he reunites with his creative energy, his own intuition, bottom line his heart he is able to appreciate things more, then he steps through the door with her into the future basically choosing not to go through the motion like everyone else but following his heart, choosing himself and his own desires to navigate through life next. It's a beautiful meaning to a beautiful MV.
I think he is trying to say that before he was disconected with himself so he coundn't be happy in other situations,but at the end he found himself so everything came to be beautiful around him
Some parts of this reminds me of Taetae's FRI(END)S MV. I like the direction the guys are heading in with their MVs showing them with leading ladies cause ARMYs need to accept some day the men of BTS will eventually have a love life
This MV is about his love life and the girl represents his real lover that has returned. He gives you a hint of who that person is. 2 scenes may help you figure it out. The scene with 2 RM's and his returned lover and the scene with him looking st his lover at the door. RM is letting you know that he' s hapoy and in love. His happiness returned when his partner returned and he's included hints of his partner's identity. He's a deep thinker so he wanted people to think. He's talking about his partner and so much more but he wants you to figure it out.
The song is beautiful. Namjoon sang this live at yoongi's concert so if you'd like to hear it live, please give it a listen and a reaction. 💜 The music video can be interpreted in many different ways and i don't think any of them can be wrong. My initial reaction was we're getting to see different timelines of namjoon, possibly his own desires, his own multiverse, which he mentioned a few times.. most recently during festa. Another theory could be it's all about self acceptance and finding your place in the world. You don't have to fit into the mold of anyone's perception of success. Just be happy. Throughout the mv he never felt like he fit into any of these roles of being a husband, a boyfriend, or partying with his friends. Life is a journey and by the end he meets a girl who was also lost and confused, she could also represent himself and that he finally found peace. Some people pointed out she could be namjoon's anima.
I interpret it as that there is no right or wrong way to live your life and you shouldn't let other people or societal expectations define who you are but rather make decisions based on what you know is good for you. Once you feel at peace with yourself you will escape from the maze of doubt and second guessing and find your happiness or fulfillment.
I love the song since day 1 at Suga's concert. Really it's Namjoon's mind. Ge doesn't want to follow what society expects from him to be or do. The girl represents his inner true voice and helps him getting out of all those normal life sceneries and live his life the way he wants to.
our lives are a series of rooms and what they contain. we identify ourselves via important others in our lives. my immediate thought on viewing and listening was how much I'd love to listen to a collab effort of V and RM. my favorite part of the video aside from the music, was the coloration, I loved the muted tones in the early video.

Spring has always been here means the love has al Spring has always been here means the love for his lover stayed with him even when the lover left. Spring is a metaphor for the love he has for this person. The love never died because it's encased deep in his heart. He was just waiting for his lover to come back to him.
Credit to owner. Minha is a librarian in the MV. The house is a library where Namjoon goes door to door from book to book. These each rooms are individual books. Each book takes him to a different environment in a different situation. All these books take him to those times of his life like: childhood with parents, love life, married life, drinking with friends, failure At the end we see Minha leading him inside what is essentially a bookshelf and Namjoon sees the failures of his own life in the books inside. Those who have read the book The Midnight Library will understand this whole thing. This is a book that Namjoon has read, liked and recommended. The final scene resembles a bookshelf in the Midnight Library where each book depicts protagonist Nora Seed's regrets. Nora is a 34-year-old woman with depression who wanted to commit suicide. She passes between life and death. And that place is called midnight library. We see Joon running from door to door in a corridor. He is given one more chance to go through his penances. The point is, "If I hadn't done that, maybe this wouldn't have happened to me." After reading the books, entering those rooms, Namjoon realizes that nothing more could have been done in this situation than what he did. He finally realizes that he is the best version of himself and has nothing to regret. That's what we see at the end. Namjoon is getting out of those situations with librarian Minha. Then he came back to his present situation, hanging out with those friends and completely clear minded. This means he has no regrets or regrets. By "Come back to me " he's calling his own old real self back to Himself and he finds himself back.
Wrong person in the wrong place.....to be present in the moment isn't always easy. He's confused by all the situations because he's not supposed to be in them, or he's not ready to be in them. The second go round he's the right person in the right place - living the best life. It's along the love yourself theme....know yourself & search for those things that are right for you. I think that last thought it was the girl & the door showed. The video pull back at end showing endless rooms...means endless choices.... myriad paths on the journey. People sometimes convince themselves there is only one answer, one path, once choice for their lives & the reality is much different.
It's about not wanting to comply to societal expectations (what other people expect from him) and wanting to to his own thing, self acceptance, being content in the moment and his journey of self-discovery (the search for what he wants in life). He's talking to himself to come back to him. The girl is like a female version of him, his conscience he recognizes himself in her (she's also confused and lost for direction) and she helps him to accept himself (to come back to himself). RM always felt as an outsider, not fitting in. That's why the album is called 'Right place wrong, person'. But he has come to the conclusion that he doesn't have to try to fit in, that he wasn't the wrong person but the places were wrong ad he's right, just as he is and he doesn't have to change himself to fit in (Right place, wrong person, the name of the album). Now that he accepts himself he can be content in the moment. He can open the door now to his future and he follows his life path with endless possibilities (the search for what he wants in life) represented by the mazes of room that represent different stages in life (past: depressed/confused/lost, present: content, future: happy). The rooms could also be seen as boxes he don't want to be put in. Spring is linked to new beginnings. RM wants to experience new things in life.
I said the same thing. This MV is similar to V's Fri(end)s with the theme, the concept, the message, the vibe. Even the 1st scene with the couple kissing next to him while he remains unbothered. In the end he finds happiness. Be happy on your own terms, not by what society dictates. And maybe the deeper meaning could be that we ARMY looking at their lives and what they have achieved, we expect them to be happy & satisfied with their lives. And maybe they are not, maybe it's just not enough for them (and I'm not talking about material wealth here. But maybe self love and self fulfillment, mental health etc.) I feel that the message he is sending is that you have to make life decisions that are right for *You* and no one else. I already knew it was gonna be an intellectual think piece and he didn't disappoint. For me the best description of the song was a comment I read: "Namjoon is a philosopher who raps." 💜

RM has spoken before about the tendency for turbulence between himself as Kim Namjoon and his stage persona RM. I think the MV, among other things that ARMYs have pointed out, deals with this turbulence and the eventual meeting of the two and making peace with them both. Also, BTS, themselves, as a group, have discussed, in various ways, the necessity to move through life with an appreciation for both your light side and your "dark" side and even both the light and dark sides of life. I think the girl that we see could represent the divinity ("you are my pain, divine, so fine") that results from allowing this joining of the two halves in meeting your "other half" and making peace with it. It's painful but through that pain comes your diviinity. Personally, I think it was beautiful that RM used a woman to display this "other side". This could also speak to our need as human beings to recognise both our masculine and feminine sides. He could have chosen a male actor to portray this "other side" but he chose a woman and I don't think that was accidental. BTS has also talked a lot about the toxicity in typical masculinity and they all speak against its dangers. So, among all the other metaphorical meanings, this could also very well be about joining the feminine and masculine sides of yourself tin order to be a healthy, fully-functional person who can move through the world normally.
I just had a thought. I’ve watched the video several times and I feel like he’s talking to himself. Come back to me like the right kind of me should come back to me instead of this depressed person who doesn’t take a shower or wash his face it’s too much trouble, that’s a sign of depression and the way that everybody is reacting towards him is totally in relation to how he’s reacting to them take for instance his parents he’s like emotionless and doesn’t wanna play with them and they’re like gosh you know wow my kid doesn’t wanna play with me And obviously the girlfriend is mad and the wife is bewildered on how to react towards him so he is the catalyst all the feelings in each scene and when he becomes the other person, the person that’s happier in his situation than everybody else is happy. And I can tell you from experience. This is true if you bring Happiness to a relationship the other person is unhappy that doesn’t mean that the other person was happy in the first place. It’s all because you’re unhappy and you’re bringing unhappiness. I kind of feel like the title of the right place wrong person. Is that all the places are the right places but he’s been the wrong person for each scenariobecause of his attitude, depression whatever.

The place isn't wrong but he (we) might feel wrong. The conceptual understanding is that we need to find ourselves, our own happiness to feel right wherever we are. This is such a cool song! 💥 With such a deep meaning and at the same time with such a pleasant atmosphere, a light vibe, one might say, of a weekend. The video is very beautiful and interesting! This is art with a capital letter! This is aerobatics! Plus, RM's acting is incredible (as is the entire cast). He conveys the atmosphere of the song, the emotions so well.. He is a genius! It’s so wonderful to reveal the topic of standards, opinions and a person’s internal struggle with these standards imposed by society.. acceptance of oneself, one’s desires.. and freedom from them (these imposed standards), which makes it possible to live one’s life with joy and happiness..
