I absolutely love RM’s response. This is what he was saying at the 2022 Festa, he needs to be himself and not what the world wants. I support Kim Namjoon and was blessed by his response.

*"RM DON'T APOLOGIZED" still rings in my head, a person in life goes from good to bad, from being happy to being sad, from being loved to being hated IN AN INSTANT, yesterday Rm was loved today is hated but no one asked the question "HOW IS RM FEELING TODAY, WHY DID HE CHOOSE THIS SONG TO SHARE"? instead the sad people, full of resentment and the so-called "theologians" have raised a fuss to tarnish Rm but a soul like his will fight for his convictions no matter how many difficulties he will have to undertake them...Moral of the story no one judges a person before looking in the mirror.*

I'm so proud that RM defended himself and didn't apologize, especially because the controversy started from kpop fans who make organized attempts to attack or defame BTS. The backlash was full of complete malice, and it was mostly coming from non Muslim Kpop fans who hated BTS. They tried to start smear campaigns and attacked Namjoon's friends and family on their instagrams. They even tried adding lies saying that he hates Muslims and attacked Islam. Namjoon saw this happening on his instagram and I'm so happy he didn't apologize, he didn't do anything wrong in the first place. His response was so real and mature too

It irritates me that people who call themselves ARMY would automatically assume the worst of RM when he and the rest of the members are so open. People are quick to get offended without the benefit of the doubt. I’m much older and don’t think people understand how fortunate they are that these young men take their time to come on and speak to ARMY, back in the day there was no such way to communicate with your idol so easily.

Don't tink they're genuine ARMY ... as true ARMY knows ea of the guys thru & thru as they had journeyed with them from day one. There are fandom who like to tink they are ARMY but really their immaturity & shallowness sets them apart. Annoying thing is stupidly they can unnecc exacerbate a nothing situation into something hurtful & damaging to the very people they supposedly are fans of. They shud know when to just plain shut up!

I would think that ARMYs who have been with BTS for a significant amount of time would know RM’s intentions and his heart. I have this feeling that a lot of those who claim to be fans are here because BTS is popular and to them BTS is a trend. How could you listen to the songs and speeches that RM have written over the years and think he has malice in his heart, especially when he and the team have been and still on the receiving end of such false controversies. If it’s that easy for them to say this about RM because he shared a song are they really fans? The song itself is explains the meaning meaning of a bad religion, it does not slander any religion. Where were these people when the song came out 4 years ago? There certainly was no one asking for apologies from the singer like they are asking from RM for sharing it. This world has gotten so sensitive about the wrong things while trying to be politically correct and gets it wrong every time. They are more important things happening in this world for people to put their anger into than someone sharing a song. Where were they when Trump was in office?

I hadn’t had an opportunity to watch his live until this am. I thought his statement was spot on. His posts lately told me that he is working through some things-growing as he ages which is what I hope I am always able to continue to do. The lyrics of the songs he posts may be a guide to help us understand his current journey. Something about that particular FO song may have spoken to Namjoon right now. New Army but here long enough to realize the type of person Namjoon is and has always been, and understand that he had no malicious intent.

IF RM never shared songs that he’s listening to…and then he suddenly shares this one specific song, then I would understand why people got upset because it can be interpreted as intentional. But RM shares songs on a daily and some times multiple songs a day. Do ppl really think he has the time to dissect each song and it’s meaning before sharing? He’s probably going about his day and has music playing in the background, found something he likes in the song (melody, beat, composition, etc) and just post it without thinking too much. He just shared a song today on IG titled “witchcraft”. Are we gonna accuse him of promoting witchcraft now? As Army, it’s about his character. If he’s always been a little sketchy in this area, then he may deserve to be looked at with a little more scrutiny. But I personally think he has shown nothing but respect in the past and one incident like this should not be used against him. If additional incidents arise, then it’s up to you to decide what to think. I don’t condone babying idols, but also don’t condone making every little thing a big thing

This may sound harsh but people looking for something to be offended about are not rational. It is not anybody's responsibility to safeguard your feelings; it's up to you how you react to others. I've always tried to live by this maxim and it has helped me tremendously as I moved around the world to places that were not so kind to me as a woman or as a member of my culture/perceived race. I'm glad RM stood firm on his principles.

Thanks very much for sharing your thoughts. You were more cohesive in your thoughts than I was when I was communicating with other ARMY on this topic. My thoughts were similar to what you expressed. I saw the live and I was horrified at how poorly he was treated. I was very sad and I am still sad about this. RM has repeatedly shown himself to be thoughtful, caring and wise, as well as having positive intentions over a decade. He has grown and matured into a wonderful thought leader. For ARMY, who should at least give him the benefit of his proven past, disregard this and treat him so poorly was heartbreaking. I hope this won’t happen again but I am afraid it will. Other members have been treated poorly in the past and they didn’t come and talk to ARMY for a long while on lives.

I don't believe at all that any malice or bad intentions were intended at all by RM. I think it was great that he spoke on it, standing by what he said and also letting people know, what he said, his intentions is all that he can address and share on, the rest is up to people. I just don't know how to express my opinion without upsetting some people, but here goes. This isn't about a song for me. It touches something so much more foundational, and I think we should be able to talk about hard truths. It angers me to see members of any organized religion demand respect for their beliefs when there has been so much violence and oppression done in the name of religion, and I can't respect that. To me, faith is different than religion, so I do respect a person's relationship with their god, however, I don't agree that non-religious people should be expected to change their behaviors or beliefs to accommodate those that are. Organized religion has affected my life as a woman through my country's laws and societal systems in a negative way. So, no, I will never apologize for living my life and my truth, and neither should RM.
@janetuss6496

Agreed, well said. It's ironic that certain religions are always very loud about demanding other people to respect them, but the religion they advocate for is oppressive towards certain people and isn't accepting of them (gay people for example). Namjoon is our Fearless leader if he was wrong or felt that he was wrong he would be the first to apologize. Thank you. I agree to most points. I think it’s the right thing sometimes to apologize even if it was not intended to hurt someone. And I believe it’s possible to say that I’m sorry even if I believe that I did not even do sth wrong. Because it happens all the time that we hurt others even if we don’t intend to do so. Sometimes you have to prioritize one value over another and there are no perfect ways to handle situations. I agree that one should never apologize for likes and clicks only, and I think he did a very good job as a famous person to handle this specific situation.

I understand what you are trying to say but if one loses oneself in that process (of apologizing for the sake of it), I don't think that is something one should compromise on. Also, in this particular case, I don't think he owes an apology. If he apologized this time, people would expect him to apologize every time they felt offended and as you know one can be offended with anything these days. He would have to spend his life apologizing for everything he does henceforth! Apologizing when one knows one did nothing wrong turns an apology into mockery. Unfortunately, it’s even worst than that today, because people do it not to loose public standing; this has really belittle what before was considered an honestly felt act of contrition.
@dopaminish2099
@dopaminish2099 Год назад
@@delasmercedes2940 no Thats Not what I mean. I can feel sorry for hurting someone and apologize for that and own my decision at the same time. Sometimes doing the right thing means hurting someone. For example, if my 3ys old has to get a shot, it could happen that I have to hold her and let the doctor do it against her will. Is that a mistake? No. But I apologize because i want to acknowledge the validity of her feelings, even if I had to make this decision for her health. Another example: I had to tell someone sth, what another person told me was confidential. I broke their trust to help another person which has being bullied. So the first person was really hurt because I did not keep the secret to myself. But I had to do what I could to help the other one. That was the right decision for me. But I’m sorry that I couldn’t keep my promise. So maybe it’s just a matter of wording and we’re on the same page opinionwise 🤔

Were those religious people? I would NOT bet my shirt on it. BTS has many h8rs grabbing on anything to spread their venom. Your comment about the other community is out of place; you’re doing what h8rs do, ascribing motifs to a heterogeneous community based on your discriminatory and narrow minded beliefs.

It unfortunately is the nature of the information age that people are given the ability to find offence under every rock and around every corner. Add to that the often-anonymous rallying of negativity that social media acts to enable and a whole cancel culture has literally become a sport. Everyone becomes a part of this or that team. Any issue becomes a rallying cry often based only on headlines with little to no nuance as to the source facts. Add religion to this mix. All religions tend to be secure in their values. However, practitioners of those religions often are not as secure. They feel the need to act out those values based on their own interpretations. There is a reason every major religion has fractured into denominations. Interpretation. Add social media into the mix and this occurs at a faster often real-time clip. And in today's information age this tribalizing tends to get amplified by the plethora of information dissemination mechanisms available. The result is a knee jerk us and them mentality which is not the bedrock strength of the religion. Values in the books of religions are strong. Practitioners often aren't and find security even adrenaline in acting out the us and them. I say return to the books your religion sprang out of. Be confident in them. Be proud of them. Be comfortable in your own skin. And stop the finger pointing at perceived others. Your religion is strong enough that it doesn't have to scour the world for potential offences. It is there to educate not destroy.

Reaching for hate first is never the way. Yet that is what happens too often on social media platforms. Other people pile on the those types of comments without doing any research themselves. Sadly many people are drawn to the dark side of social media. In the specifics of k-pop and BTS, the truth is people who just hate a group will pretend offense to throw hate to try and bring them down. Instead of engaging with the person, it’s best to ignore and block. True bullying should be reported. Never give attention to these people because that is what they want. If there is true offense, look at what you know about the person. In Namjoon’s case, we know his heart to be full of love. He is a good human as he has shown time and again over 13 years. He has zero prejudice against anyone or thing because he has experienced it first hand. Go with what you know to be true about a person. 💜🫶🏼💜
