An aerial look at HMS Jackdaw / RNAS Crail. Footage shot in 2022. This video should be viewed in conjunction with my other "RNAS Crail HMS Jackdaw Revisited" movie here on youtube. That movie shows all the ground shots. An amazing place for which I got full permission for entry. Visitors are generally not welcome. The site is becoming unsafe, with hazards all around.
Not 100% sure which is the Institute/Dining room and which is the NCO's mess. Not having a proper site plan, I may have them wrong.
I have many many more shots. To see them click here www.flickr.com/photos/1831907... and www.flickr.com/photos/1831907...
Please message me with any queries.

When I was a boy, (I'm 57 now!) we used to holiday at the caravan park and walk over the fields to the Airbase. Back then, there were still old trucks, the Control tower was assessable full of electronics very exiting for a 7 year old! on the side of the control tower was a sign "Visiting aircraft only" The barracks had letters on the floor and old pictures on the wall. The Cinema had its curtains-it was amazing....

Amazing place with an amazing history. It must be great when you visit and get that super atmospheric feel, esp with your dad having been there. Check out my other Crail videos. Also, if you want to see all the photos from Crail, then check out these links www.flickr.com/photos/183190746@N05/albums/72177720305411299 and www.flickr.com/photos/183190746@N05/albums/72177720305061128

Torpedo training station with Fairey Swordfish. That was its main purpose during the war. Lots about this station online!
