Road House (1989) Review and our Weirdest Bar Stories - Rental Reviews 

Rental Reviews is becoming one of my favorite series on youtube, it's really relatable. James and the guys never cease to impress.

Trivia: in Spain, this movie was titled "De profesión, duro". It translates to "Occupation: badass". Pretty accurate.

I love how there's actual continuity in the review series.

Being a bartender, that Elvis bar story is the shit I absolutely love. Random weird anti-climatic nonsense that happens and feels like a fever dream

I like how at the beginning James is hunched over the bar, and then he gradually leans back, and by the end he's just laying on the stools.

It's so obvious, and this is a good thing, that James passion is in movies with these rental review shows. While I love the AVGN, this new series is maybe my favorite. The quality is just getting crazy good too, keep it up guys!

James needs to see Point Break (1991)

Justin's drunken casino story just made me laugh until my ribs ached. "It's kind of like when a cat goes behind the dryer and dies?"

It's hard to hear someone saying "Roadhouse" without thinking how Peter Griffin says it.

Another vote for *Red Dawn* if James really hasn't seen any other Swayze movies that's next one he MUST see or else he risks losing some of his 80's cred.

It's funny that, while you have RU-vidrs throwing out high production quality videos to try and WOW you, we get this really awesome and simple video of just some chill dudes having conversations about movies and having a good time. Just makes you feel like you're part of the conversation even though you know you can't physically add to it. One of my favorite series to watch on RU-vid to be honest keep the rentals coming!

RoadHouse has aged very well. Its a classic and it's such a badass movie. When i was in my late teens, i had a huge crush on Swayze. RIP. ❤🙏

I used to live in the east end of Toronto back in the mid 90's and Jeff Healey used to play regularly at a cafe / bar there. Would be walking home from work and stick around to listen once in a while! He was a very nice, cool dude.

I really do like this style of reviews, just a bunch of friends discussing the movie together. It's really fun. And as to the question raised around the 8:00 minute mark, it was apparently a thing for bands to be attacked during performances at bars. Both Sweet's Ballroom Blitz and the Stones You Can't Always Get What You Want were inspired by incidents of the bands being driven off stage by a barrage of beer bottles if I'm remembering to stories correctly.

I remember watching this movie when i was a kid, and of course Patrick is amazing and i like all of his movies, but what really got me was THAT guitar player... i was like, "damn that guy is blind? is he really playing, no tricks??" ... years later, i came to find that was a real guitar player, named Jeff Healey, and oh my god, that guy is f-ing good!! Patrick amazed me with his fighting skills... and Jeff, well, he destroys on the guitar the whole movie... one of the best movies i remember watching, nice choice guys! And RIP both Patrick and Jeff, legends of their time! And remember: Reeeeeeed Daaaaawnnnnnnn.... lol

I never realized for years that Dirty Dancing is a movie set in the 60's, with an 80's soundtrack...

Best last line of a movie ever: "A polar bear fell on me."

Don’t feel bad about the vomit, man. A friend of mine got too wasted too fast and was the only one of our group completely trashed when we ARRIVED at the bar. They immediately refuse to serve him because we was stumbling around like an idiot so he found his way to a big couch where he proceeded to lie on his back, piss himself in front of everyone, and pass out. Tail end was great. Would love to see more casual chats and sharing old stories. Everyone can relate to that. I especially love hearing old stories from behind the scenes from film makers, cheers.

Best bar story ever; It is the night John Lennon died. The bar is packed with folks who had gathered there to mourn. Suddenly, the door slams open and a crazed man bursts in and shouts, "Oh my God! They shot The Lennon Sisters!" Half of the crowd fell out laughing. The other half wanted blood. It's the most stunning act of perverse humor I have ever witnessed and I have worked for Bob Z'Muda. And that crazed man? It was "hey it's that guy" character actor Chris Ellis, the space station captain in Planet of the Apes.

Point break is my favorite Patrick Swayze movie and favorite movie of all time.
