I have a 2013 Veloster, it is the best purchase I have made in my life, I am very happy and I want to recommend this car to those who like it and are interested in it, mine has an automatic transmission, and in Argentina it comes with only 130 hp, a indirect injection, due to the quality of fuel in our country. The Veloster is a car with the image of a high-performance sports car, with the engine of a normal sedan, however, it is a fun car to drive, especially in curves, and it gives sporty sensations with low consumption. Its ride is very refined, it feels expensive When driving it, the materials compared to other cars of other brands in our country are very good. What I like the most is its panoramic roof that when I open it and roll down the windows, when driving at the speed limit on the road it gives you the feeling that you are driving a motorcycle without a helmet, nothing more than with the 5-star safety that offer this vehicle. Regarding speed, it doesn't feel so slow. in recovery is where he seems very fast despite his low torque, but his contained weight helps him in every way. Final result design 9, consumption 8, premium sensations when driving it 9 (taking into account its quality/price), sporty sensations 7, comfort for being a coupe 8, consumption 9, quality/price ratio 9.
Well I guess the normal engine dosen't matter when the veloster seems to be the second most popular car after the N/nline to add performance mods. How common are velosters in Argentina? In Australia their not super common, although though they were popular the first couple of years they were sold here (we have our own Australia exclusive model, the veloster street, the first ones didn't have a turbo charged engine, but had a exclusive shade of silver, different colored seats, but in 2016 they offered the street with a turbo). But after that velosters continued to drop in sales, despite the recalls not affecting them here (as they were made in korea), although I do think it scared off customers, so I wonder what has happened to most of the velosters if the recalls mostly affected us velosters?
@@aussiefurbymogwaifan6621 The Veloster in Argentina was very exclusive for wealthy people, I bought it used and at a reasonable price. My car with a naturally aspirated engine with indirect injection is very reliable since other Hyundai brand models used it, but I have read that engines with GDI direct injection have had problems depending on the quality of the gasoline, which is why they did not come to Argentina. I have read that the turbo engines have also had problems. Greetings from Córdoba Argentina.
The Veloster really does not feel that slow when driving it, i drove the auto dct and accelration while not a rocket was not bad at all. i mean what can u expect from econo tuning and 138 hp. wait 4 the turbo all u speed demons
Turn off traction control eco mode and put the auto in to sport mode u can get a 9.3 0-60 in automatic and if u do manual with the shift paddles and time it perfectly u can get 7.6
How many miles does yours have? I got one recently and it's a 2013 automatic with 106k miles and when I'm in stop and go traffic, when letting off the brakes it tends to shake a little but that's the only time, have you experienced anything like that? I saw they recalled over 16,000 of the 2013 models for the engine stalling and even fires happening
I love the 3rd door on the passenger side, great way to make it look like a sporty coupe on the drivers side but with the versatility of rear seat access on the passenger side. The 1.6L is a little low on power but should be great for a first car. Rare to find a Dual Clutch in this price range. Lime green would be my color, with the wheels that have the matching inserts. Blue Link telematics make it easy to get directions or up to date weather reports. Glad Hyundai decided to go for an actual outlet rather than a usb or cigarette lighter charger and seeing as it's under 20k its very affordable. Can't wait to own a Veloster and park it in the garage.
Rode in a blue 2013 Hyundai Veloster back in that year and it was nice. The 2019 models and up are nice but I prefer the 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 model. It has a much cleaner look.
This is one wicked design, I have driven the NZ market "Elite" Limited in US language. The little 1.6 wasn't particularly fast but the car has a great interior and just feels good. In NZ the Veloster Elite is the same price as the Honda CR-Z, even though I found the Honda more fun to drive I would still prefer the Veloster for it's practicality, look forward for the Turbo, Go Hyundai!!!
Why didn't they review the Veloster Turbo? Still, if you're going to be stuck in traffic, might as well look good and sip fuel. This car is everywhere and I hear they can't keep up with demand. Good job, Hyundai!
The front MacPherson's are Elantra, but compare an Elantra and Veloster's rear beam, then go look at the Accent. The beam in these cars is Accent, just like the powertrain. The muffler, too, albeit changed to a center tip.
@soyntgo4it I was referring to looks not functionality. With two doors on one side and one door on the other side just doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Looks like its missing something.
Come on Motorweek. You guys are so wishy-washy. @8.6 0~60mph you guys call the Veloster slow, but an 8.9 0~60mph finds you guys praising the Mazda3 SkyActive sedan. Don't you guys have any standards?I notice the same with your comments on braking; one car can do60~0 in 123ft, and it's a dog, another similar car, and it's stellar. Tighten it up.
@motormusique yeah, the Veloster's a faux road warrior; a poser. Who knows what the turbo model will be like? I can only hope it gets the "I-like-to-drive" treatment. Heck, driving in a straight line is no fun if you're not at the drag strip, but country roads can be quite entertaining with the right suspension/brake combo (and a turbo'd motor)
@soyntgo4it Might make sense for some people, but for me it doesn't. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. We are entitle to our opinions; I have mine and you have yours. Conversation over.
@soyntgo4it your logic makes no sense. So basically your saying every coupe should have a third door on the passenger side so you don't get hit. That's dumb as hell bro.
I drove a 2017. It is a pig. Slow, dead unresponsive engine you have to rag to redline to go, dead handling, crap plastic interior, uncomfortable seats. Not good on gas. No redeeming features
