I have a 2014 Avalon that I've been very happy with. XLE model with sport package which gives it a very different look than the standard model. 19 inch BBS wheels, spoiler, pin striping. Since I've had it, I've only seen two other like it on the road. I've always been into more sporty cars, traded a 2008 Infiniti g37s for the Avalon. It has enough power for easy passing and I always keep it in sport mode. Super comfortable with lots of trunk space. Financed for 60 months at zero percent interest which was a big selling point. Seven more payments and I'm done. Plan on keeping it a while as I'm retired now and don't put many miles on it. I've only got 12,560 miles on it! It still has the new car smell inside. It's built in Lexington, KY and Toyota calls it the Lexington Lexus. The color is called sizzling crimson mica combined with an almond interior. Always get compliments on it. Sure, I'd like to get a new car when it's paid off but being on a fixed income and with so few miles, freeing up that payment is more important to me.
I’ve already put over 25k trouble free miles on my Avalon. The only problems I have had are ones I’ve caused myself (I’ve bent two rims from not being used to driving a vehicle with low profile tires) Aside from that, this is the most powerful and luxurious car I’ve ever owned even if it’s only a polished up Camry I would love another and I’m not even finished with my first one yet.
I am 40 years old and just ordered a 2014 Black Avalon with Almond interior. I take delivery of the car tomorrow and let me tell you that this car looks amazing in black with tinted windows and drives even better than it looks.
@@texan903 I just bought a 1 owner used 2014 Avalon XLE touring with 45k miles on it. Im 28 years old. It has been way better and more sporty than expected. The 3.5 is definitely quick and the luxury and looks are very nice for the price range. It’s a beautiful car.
@@zaneherrington8868 Avalons rank among the longest owned cars and high in customer satisfaction. Hopefully your car will bring years of reliable service to you.
Experts, Enthusiasts and owners KNOW Japanese vehicles LAST. You see tons of Toyota's with over 200k with NO REPAIRS, I had a 86 Accord I could shift without the clutch! scrapped it at 386k. STILL FELT SOLID! When you drive a new GM product right off the lot it's rattling and squeaking! I KNOW I had 6 within 5 years. ALWAYS IN THE SHOP! We KNOW imports last. But when Toyota can make a QUALITY car almost entirely in the US, and hire more Americans than any of the big 3, THAT'S WHAT I'M BUYING.
We got our ‘13 Avalon about 4 yrs ago and love everything about it w/the exception of the BSM system, which has been a bit iiffy of late. Mileage is 32 on the road & 24 in town. It only has 78K but when it’s time for a new one we’ll get another Avalon.
I have one. The downside is the driver seat is about as uncomfortable as it can get. The upside is the pickup, responsiveness, and mid-corner speed, with great grip in the turns. It gets about 20MPG realistically with combined (Highway and City) driving. If it wasn't for the backbreaker of a driver seat, I'd highly recommend this car.
It's fine for just a normal drive, but not really for long road trips in my opinion. I drove up to Atlanta which was about an 8 hour drive and my butt bone was throbbing by the end of it, but that might be partly because I'm pretty thin and don't have much cushion down there.
Bought a new 2013 Avalon Touring based on this video but kinda wish I'd gone with the Limited vs the Touring. It's still a great car but looking at upgrading the sound system. Hadn't planned on going back to work overseas but I did and my car has just under 18,000 miles on the clock. Avalon for local trips, 2014 Lexus LS460L AWD for longer road trips. Not logical but what the heck.
Test drive it Saturday and it is a pretty great car, especially inside. Unlike the Lexus ES, you can get rear heated seats, which makes no damn sense. It this car had a heated steering wheel, it would be damn near perfect.
I have been in the same boat with you in regards to GM. Had 8 GM vehicles in about 9-years time, ranging from family sedans to the Suburban. They all had issues that ticked me off enough to sell it or trade it in towards another GM. Unfortunately, I had large discounts due to organizations, so I always looks at them first. Now, I simply don't care about the discounts offered. I've had 2 VWs and 4 Hondas that have been 100% problem free.
Super pretty car. Saw it and had to have it. Even Toyota was unable to improve upon this particular design. The 2013 Avalon and 2007 Camry were two landmark designs. Well done Toyota!!
Are you sure, I asked the salesman and he said it did not and I can't find anywhere that says it does. If it did that would be great. For some reason the ES gets the heated steering wheel and the Avalon gets the heated rear seats, which makes no sense at all. Then you look at cars like the Inifiniti M and the same crap again, you can spend $70K on that car and still can't get heated rear seats.
I like the 2013 Toyota Avalon but I love the 2010 Toyota Avalon at just look better to me I have a 2003 and it drives Good and it get up and Go with the 3.0 V6
Wow! This is quite a car! Very much like a BMW 7-Series in luxury and performance. I like it a lot. I know Honda/Acura, Nissan/Infinity, have nothing that compares to this high performance Hi-Lux car from Toyota. On top of the excellent workmanship, it returns over 31 mpgs! This is quite the deal. I like it!
Toyota recalls more often, and more cars at a time. Because they sell so much. My point was that Chevies are reliable. Isn't that a 4th gen camaro as your thumbnail?
What is there to break on a new corolla? The ancient 4 speed transmission? The drum brakes? maybe that plastic interior? It would be hard to get into a crash because its not like it responds to your steering input. It like a sponge on wheels. an appliance. What Gm car did you even have?? An X-body that they were always in the shop? 20 years of GM and not a single shop visit. Not me or my many relatives. Some of them moved on to BMWs, and theirs are always in the shop lol
Avalon would be squeezed out of the lineup and Camry sales would cannibalize with this approach; it would leave no stop-gap between the Camry and Lexus ES.
You must be about 75 years old if you think so lol. Nobody thinks the previous generation Avalon's look good. LOTS of people love the 2013 Avalon, especially young people.
Yes before they screwed up the front end. This is the first year of Avalon front ends being butt ugly. Then they got even worse. Now they are godawful as hell.
You have the 1MZ-FE engine, I presume. I had a '94 Camry with the same issue. I suggest you do a tune up and replace all the belts and pulleys. That's fixed it for me.
Did you get your girl fixed? As in what I mean is did you get your car fixed! The reason why I ask is I also have a 2001 and I love it too wish they bring the older versions back. I actually like the older ones. But when the time comes I probably will come get one of these two.
As compared to what? Then every other car in its class must be boring, too, because the vast majority of professional reviewers have said the opposite.
Beautiful looking car, but I wouldn't buy it for the simple reason that I think it's too long. About 3" shorter would do the trick. Shorter cars are back in vogue.
Horrible car do not buy it. VERY stiff and the navigation is like using computer from 1985...I loved my 2010 smooth soft ride, this is stiff and loud. I made big mistake buying 2013, should have got 2012.
Atleast they call out their mistake by taking corrective action. KIA, for example, knows how to ignore their mistakes and sweep it under the rug. After 100,000 miles good luck.
Meh. I agree that it's better-looking than previous generations, but the new Avalon is still just one more bland Toyota sedan. The profile isn't bad, but it looks a bit like a bloated Mazda 6 to my eyes. Did anyone notice how the seat-heater adjustment knobs wobbled loosely in their housing at 3:10? I'd expect better in a car of this class and price.
