The reason why the VIPER was killed off again is because Chrysler couldn't get through their heads that not everyone knows how to drive manual or don't want to drive manual and the Viper was only available with manual transmission. ( why do you think the Vette is still around cause it's available in both manual and automatic transmission.) but it still was an aswome muscle car.
No I don't think so, I think it would have been pretty good if the VIPER came with automatic transmission it would have been one less thing to worry about while you were driving it.
@@steveespinola7652 Chrysler engineers had a vision with the car and they made it with a purpose. The Viper isnt like a 911 or a Vette which can be specced to your lifestyle. You either get it or you dont thats it. Bad for sales. Great for making a legacy that wont be tarnished. Its why more people lusted for something like the Gen 2 than the C5 that was out at the time.
That is my dream car. Just give more power and more aggressive spoiler and splitters. The grill does look a little tame when compared to two generations ago.
Wow its been so quiet on the viper side. Like it just sort of disappeared after all the buzz when it came out. I actually think its the the best car our of America right now. I like the C7 but you just can't beat the V10 with huge displacement and killer looks of the viper. Its such a 'balls-out' car.
The Z06 C7 will not doubt beat this car on the track. The Z51 C7 almost bested the Viper on the track and that was with 150 less HP. The I think the C7 Z06 will be the best track car for the money.
farmerallis "C7 almost bested the Viper on the track" where did you get this? 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51 - 1:38.28 2013 SRT Viper TA - 1:33.62 at laguna seca, motortrend
NoobGainer There's a video on youtube of the C7 Stingray going up against the new Viper and like 4 or 5 other cars, including a Nissan GTR, a Porche, and a Mustang GT500. A professional driver drove all of the cars on the same track, on the same day. The Viper was the best of the group by about 1 second over the C7 vette. The Viper made up all it's time in the straights where it's 600+ HP left the field in the dust. The 450HP C7 was much faster through the turns. So it's reasonable to assume that the Z06 C7 with 630Hp will be all over the Viper now. It's a good video, you should look it up.
farmerallis Keep in mind that the Viper in Edmunds' test was a completely base SRT vs a Z51 3LT Corvette. Even with the softest suspension, smallest brakes, heaviest wheels and no aero, the least equipped snake was still 7/10s of a second faster than a track optimized Stingray. Obviously, the new Z06 will be a great deal quicker, but the positive displacement supercharger was a poor choice for road racing. It will turn some hero laps in before it heatsoaks and ends up with a slower time than its competitors after an entire session. Auto rags only focus on single laps - a great benefit to the companies who buy their ad spaces - when that isn't an accurate indication of how a car will really perform on track day. If a magazine requested vehicles for a full length event (usually 30 minutes or so), I imagine that quite a few regulars wouldn't show up due to the things it would reveal. SRT isn't one of them.
farmerallis dude i really dont know what your talking about you mean to tell me the corvette with 285 rear tires was faster than a viper with 355 rear tires in the corners lol ok
John Davis Is The Man! I don't know if any one can host this show and make Me watch every single one like he does. Since The '80's Or even Before!!! He's a truly show host that knows how to present any episode and makes You wanna buy every car that He Reviews while making a crafty use of his Words..☺
I love the viper and it is my dream car. Also there is no need for supercharger but a 8 or 9 speed and maybe handling bits. Vipers always had great power out of the box. Plus I would rather add my own forced induction system cuz we know its a very capable car to get 1000hp
ya the whole point of the love of the viper is the largest natural displacement engine on the market for sale 8.4 beautiful liters of 10 cylinder power
