It was great playing with you in the 1950. Congrats on getting to the finals. You got a killer forehand and very stable opening shots. I forsee 2000+ in no time
Man!, I thought you had that guy at the end. Love to see this kind of TT tournament journey video perspective. No doubt you will surpass 2000+ "Seattle Dang" 🤣
You definitely have a 2000-level game and it's fun to watch. You're young and fit and I don't know why you don't put more oomph into your forehands. They're too weak and cautious at times, even on easy high balls, and the opponent is able to put an extra ball back into play. Focus more on your FH kill-shots and you'll win more games as you increase your power without hurting your consistency. Also, when Fredrick was lobbing to you, I was surprised you didn't try drop shots. As an older player, trust me - retrieving drop shots is brutal and tiring.
Heartbreaking finish but it hurts worse than it's importance. The fact is that you played really well and were unfortunate at the end of the final game. Remember to keep attacking at the end of the match with racket acceleration - no deceleration. Your game is already over 2000 with high 2000 level periods of play. very nice stroke on the forehand side. When you practice hit a few medium pace shots then a put away shot to both sides. (down the line and cross-court). Great tournament. I like the way you congratulate your opponent with a smile after a loss. Learn from every loss and do not dwell on the tough losses like this one. When you're in the heat of the match play, think about variety, short serves, long serves, short returns, hard push returns, soft spinny loops, hard put away loops. Variety will bring down your opponents level and put you in control of the match. I was where you are and you are well on you way. I was 2260 after my run.
I agree with a lot of the comments. It's a well made video. I think if you can develop a more offensive backhand shot and if you get more confidence opening up with it you'll sail past 2000. For now a lot of the time they know if they do anything to your backhand you'll push a serve return and continue pushing even during a rally (or block if its top spin coming at you). Well played and good luck.
As a coach, I would say build your game around making more consistent spin and placement, but you are young, and given the coaches around you, they are not like that either, so you are your own judge of your future development.
Congratulations to your achievement. I can see that the main thing that you played well in the final is your patient and your touchy spiny loop. It’s too bad that you miss a couple of balls in the final and let that one slip away. But keep up with your choice of shots. Good patient to wait for the right shot to attack. Good job
The Hao was standing straight, he is also able to kill highballs, now you could have put more sidespin to his forehand to make him move. His balls were too passive.
Niiice! So close. You'll be there very soon. As a fellow penholder I'm naturally curious in what equipment you're using on your road to 2000? Looked like a DHS Hurricane Hao variant?
You have great athletic abilities and you play really well but please you need to stop jumping around. You can't transfer power when jumping. If you have to jump it s because of your position and timing.
