I’ve been a Musto fan since house fo muscle, love the podcast too. This is a freaking great watch and honestly a dream truck for me. What’s Big Green Machines ultimate destination? Giving it away Omaze style? Auction? Also to address any haters, sponsors are the reason many shows are able to be made period. That these companies stepped up to help should raise their stock in anyone’s eyes. Cheers and if you find yourself out Asheville way I know some great roads with no traffic. Have a small stable of stick shifts and Moto’s ready to rip (even an S197)

Nice improvements. Could have made it more of a hot rod with one of their crate engines! I'm impressed with the throws on that TR4050. I really want one, but they don't have one for my application. Thinking about an engine swap for which they do have a kit for.
I really enjoyed this series of shows, having owned 2 previous and now on my third 7 Gen Suburban, I learned a ton!! So, thank you! But why didn't you put in a headliner? ... Tens of thousands in improvements and you passed on one of the easiest, cheapest and instantly gratifying DYI jobs you can do to a square body suburban...
another great episode.....keep up with the improvements on the big green....maybe a suspension upgrade in future? put it through its paces in off roading afterwards?

Overall, really good stuff here. I also listened to the Hemmings BBQ podcast with Mark very interesting. Only suggestion I have would be to include some more of the practical details of the system like average installation time, price etc. Would also like to know more details on the seat of the pants feel of acceleration and fuel mileage change if any. Looking forward to the next episode.
Thank for the comment Brian. As far as install time goes, if you're a decent home mechanic and wiring doesn't scare you, I'd say the total install time would be a 2-3 day ordeal. The system is pretty straight forward and the instructions that are included are VERY good and comprehensive. Price wise, and it depends on the application, but you're looking between $1900 to around $2100. Mileage increase, and mind you this was in conjunction with the new 5-speed transmission, you're picking up around 3-6 MPG depending on your driving style. And as for feel - and this is big - it truly feels like a modern vehicle. It fires instantly and then delivers a very linear throttle all through the rev range. The other nice part is altitude does not effect the system - we've taken the truck up around 5,000-feet of elevation with no issues where a carb'd vehicle will notice significant power loss.
I find it kind of strange that so many people want to do these kinds of upgrades but aren't willing to drop a tank? My burb tank is 40 gallons and I've removed it twice by myself. Second time I made an access door under the mat so I'll never have to do it again. If you're affraid to drop the tank working on cars isn't for you. 🙄
Too bad you can’t get a pro-flow 4 system from edelbrock. I ordered one for my LS swap in November of 2020. Still hasn’t shown up. I’ve kept the order open out of morbid curiosity to see how long it will actually take. I will never order anything from Edelbrock ever again after being yanked around for so long. Anytime I call they push out the ship date another 2 mos and make up some new excuse.
That's a really long time to not get your order. I've been waiting since April 2021 on some parts from other companies. The supply chain has been really messed up for a while now. Also, "morbid curiosity" refers to interest in information involving death, violence, or harm. Not sure that's what you meant to convey.
@@ZeGermanHam “Morbid curiosity” was just hyperbole. It’s harming me how long I’ve had to wait! Holley doesn’t seem to be having the same supply chain issues. Neither does FAST efi or fitech. Seriously just buy from anybody else but edelbrock and thank me later
@@JV-vz2rg For certain things, Holley has *abysmal* shipping delays (and terrible customer service). Kinda depends on what you order I suspect. EFI fuel tanks ordered through Holley take many months to receive (speaking from personal experience), but since they supply their tanks from an outside manufacturer (Tanks, Inc.), I think that's where the bottleneck is. I also know someone who placed an order last week for a FiTech kit but was told it would be a few months to ship. So, it's likely kit specific, but it is widespread regardless. I'm restoring a car right now, I and I've experienced major delays across the board. It certainly makes the project frustrating at times...
It really is, although Musto and Elana are great, so I watch anyway. But I do agree, the show feels mostly like a product placement (i.e., a commercial).
No problem, but having done this improvement we can say that this system truly changed the Suburbans overall drivability. So question - what would you like to see?

Because it was big, protected it from the elements and it fit! Plus, we did't want people to see inside the truck at night. Why else do you cover a vehicle?
