If this entire series was that first match, it would be worth it.

Unsure if Jake realized this yet, haven't watched it fully through yet, just watching the first match now. But when you are in the higher ranks near masters, they for some reason use stronger bots. These bots use some significantly different code and they are quite a lot harder than regular bots. A good way to tell from my experience is players on ranged characters generally don't stop moving when auto-attacking, whereas bots will if they are within range. Players also attack-walk when moving back and bots just run straight back or like before stand still and attack. (edit: Oh and they also will path very weirdly when picking up aeos energy on the ground. This is probably the most noticeable thing of all.) ((Edit edit: Just wanted to laugh at the fake bots account having 7 games played total. xD))

I appreiciate you for keepin the matches un-edited, it reminds me of the old road to masters, but I do understand that the reason that the matches last season were edited was for retention so i'm not that upset. love ya jake, Ps you have to try Crit Comfey :)

I don't think you need to be too worried about Comfey getting buffs during your run. Even if it does, it will still be an incredibly difficult Pokemon to use in full solo queue, and it will be interesting to see how you contribute to matches where your character doesn't give you very much control of the outcome.

This was hilarious!!! Usually in bot games at the begining of the game bots take a while to start walking right? They HAVE to either tell you this is a bot game on the character selection lobby or preferably remove them entirely. Can't tell you how many times I've picked Slowbro, because all bots pick attackers or something, only to realize once the game has begun it's a bot game. Can't promise I'll watch the entirety of this series! I'll watch a funny moments compilation though :)

Having comfey on ur team is basically 4 vs 5 with extra potions and some chances of stuns 😔

I have never once encountered a Comfey in ranked who actually knew what they were doing. They're either letting their mates get picked off then running around doing nothing, or sticking on what Mon the whole time, not jumping in bushes so they do zero healing. Every match with one feels like a 4v5. What REALLY kills me is I'm an Elde main and for whatever reason some genius will pick a Comfey even tho I've already picked a healer! One who can actually contribute to a fight, at that! God I wish more Comfey had a clue

This series is like the opposite of a highlight clips reel where instead of watching the best plays you get all the sloppy gameplay outside of that one good play.

If you ever want to confirm a bot game, check if the Lillipup is still alive. If it is, it's 100% a bot game. Bots don't pick lanes nore pokemon before you. If 4 or more allies go top, bot game. If you lose a goal in lane while the enemies first is still up, bot game. They do have a tendency to rotate and meet objectives, but not protect or steal it. Pray the enemy doesn't show up with 2 or more at low objective HP. They wint stop Regieleki if the enemy gets it. They also may jungle, but moreso as an act leaving a living Lillipup 100% of the time. They even steal Lillipup if you keep hitting it. They will also at Ray, just move around it, but never really pursue, unless they are in the direct spawn. I've had to face this BS when I would lose standard and in ranked after de-rank.

Comfey is just a camera that biologists strap to solo que players to study their behaviors.

holy moly this will be painful if you need a road to master idea thats even more painful I'd suggest road to masters with only no synergy movesets (like stored power, psybeam espeon; sludge bomb, dreameater gengar, hydro pump, water spout blastoise. you get what i'm sayin for now, good luck.🥦

I'm getting bot games like this too omg it's insane!! That first match was so relatable when solo q to masters as comfey legit and the bots are programmed so weirdly sometimes super sweaty and sometimes not and I noticed the odd trainer cards too

Never thought anything can surpass the no held item road to masters series but low and behold Comfey makes any other pokemon look like a carry

I used to be masters season 2-4, recently came back to play comfey and try to make it to masters. Started at Expert 3 (?) and made it up to Ultra 4 with a 64% win rate but it has definitely been harder to win consistently now in ultra.

Gotta make myself "comfey" to watch this one.

Did not expect to see a Krashy game. What a day

The first two matches seems to be those new kind of bots, im not sure what determines when someone gets those kind of bots, but i noticed sometimes i get them in ranked, rarely in standard tho. They have no delay at the beginning like most bots would, they can see you when youre invisible or in grass, and many times theyll have 3 go to the top lane and one go to center even if you called it, unlike the normal bots. And sometimes they have the enemy invade your central. Also they sometimes have profiles you can view. I first started getting these kind of bots on my 6th account when dragapult was released.

you were absolutely in a bot game in the first match, as proven by the profile you checked after the match with 7 games played...7 games wouldn't even get you close to ultra rank from beginner, and they also wouldn't be able to queue with an ultra ranked friend because you can't be that far behind someone in rank and queue up with them, it doesn't let you. sometimes bot games sneakily throw checkable profiles into the postgame lobby, but it's easy to tell from the gameplay that you're in a bot game no matter what weirdness they pull. hope this helps!

I only played ranked matches this season and later part of last season, and when I eventually played a standard game after almost 1month, I was given 4 consecutive bot games.

if its a bot match, it doesnt show stickers on their profile during the loading screen. that way you already know whats up before the match starts.

This is my same climb to masters. Crappy teammates composed of backcappers, zero-map-awareness players, passive carries, passive defenders, and players who forgot the game is about coming together, to unite. They have their own little world instead. After hitting masters, I think I aged 30 years.

After taking a couple week break and having the returning player tag I have had either awful bot games or games where my team gets absolutely destroyed. Hopefully you have better luck than me.

The new bot type is designed to give us an unforgettable experience where we lose our minds.

To be honest, the first two matches were hard to distinguish from real solo/duo-Q games. I don't know what it is this season, but the players seem worse than ever. It's heartbreaking. The matchmaking is all over the place. Most of the time I'm getting to masters in under 50 matches with a winrate of something in the 60% range, but this time I think I'm already at over 100 matches and still not there yet... it's like people turn off their brain when the 2 minute mark is around the corner. It's really just so sad and painful... PS: Nice surprise encounter!

Watching these games reminds me of why I stopped playing. I hit masters when it first came out and the overall player base is so brain dead I couldn’t keep playing
