I'm learning a lot from your vids Chase, thanks so much for making these! I can't wait until I'm good enough to show up at the Creek.

I would show up anyway! At least to play some side games and watch some of the other players. We are all more than happy to play games and help teach! So i would say just come out and play!

Another thing to point out is Steven wasn't adjusting his defensive goalie man and two rod even after Lee scored 2 in a row off his 2 near the very end. Even when dropping the ball, he didnt look back to assure his defensive men were set up correctly, which left a huge middle opening a 5 bar shot from his opponent and quick 2 bar shots, which happened. Common rookie mistake though, and overall he played great but fell into a rushed match that Lee wanted.

1st: great video chase!! 2nd: John got bumped to pro not long ago 3rd: I watched the match in the stands and I genuinely thought Steven had a chance the whole match. He played great and practiced a short slider for 15 minutes afterwards. 4th: that five bar though 👀🤓

Overall, well done Steven! I thought your 5-bar was better than John's and if not that at least equal. What stood out for me is your 2-bar game - I think that made the difference. You did not score at all and you gave up more than half of your possessions to John - I think the short-side slider is a good idea, but think as well about banks! Tornado is bankable by now, you could shoot them from a pull-set and he literally would not block a single one with that zone.

In same page with Rune Staudacher. This game was lost on 2bar, defensively and offensively. But i disagree, that improving 2bar offense is best way to solve it. I strongly recommend for Steven 2bar-5bar passing series. Especially if you have advantage on 5bar, as he did in this match. Also, one of the keys to outplay higher level opponent is to minimize range of your arsenal to best you have. Don't try do to much. To win such foosball match you only need one shot for 3 spots and 2 passes. It doesn't have to be pretty. As far as tempo, i slightly disagree with author of video. I understand message for rookies 'don't rush' and it's pretty important. But rush style is very powerful tool, especially when playing against higher ranked players, as it could put defender on mental clinic. Downside, player have to have elite level shot. For this case train your shot in exact spot (2 defenders must leave hole just for one ball, and change def with goalie for same spot ). 5 spots is more than enough (straight, short l/r, long l/r). warm up all these shots 3-4 times before match you think you play rush, and you'll see witch one's to use. After thousands times of training, your shot will be automatic as soon as eye will catch a hole. If your shot doesn't work (hitting bars, walls and etc.), have a time before hitting, think how your hand should work, in which spot you'll catch and shoot the ball. Such mental mantra helps a lot. And if your chosen tempo works, there's no need to change it. Also there's a lot of tactical mistakes. Learn to use timeouts! Promise yourself to use all timeouts in every friendly match, and it will become habit. Don''t be afraid to experiment, as every player is at least a bit different. You may find your own style. But in highest level basically timeouts is used: *before most important shots; * cool down opponent on fire/ take opponent of his rhythm; *collect yourself, either match is going out of hand, or just to stay focused; * take a nap (collect energy). if you need more knowledge of timeouts, just watch some p4p good matches. imho, germans are best in the world on this matter. For transition D in singles, and it's strange it wasn't mentioned, learn to control you both Dbars with left hand. it will give you lots of tactical options. from changing various zones ,better protection from bar shots, to controlling defensive zone (not loosin bounced balls and etc.). also i suggest to work on 2bar control with both hands (passing between players, walls). And last, but not least, defense itself. Try to play more on D in doubles to evolve your game, as this part is way fall behind in your overall game. It's not superimportant if you have big O advantage, but generally it is. Sorry for bad english.

Ha, he didn't stuff him at 7:08, John hit it off the back wall and into his own goal. Hate when that happens.

Thanks for the review of the Foosball match, Chase. Great information shared. What did you mean by your statement at the end of the above video "This will be my last episode of Road To Pro"? I hope you keep more episodes like the above coming...

I love the game of table soccer. Used to own a table when I lived in Omaha, NE during my high school and early college years. Now, at 52 years of age, I want to get back into the sport. Looking into the possibility of starting youth training camps and competitive leagues where I live in Southwest Michigan. What table do you suggest I purchase?

I can do lessons if you wish. But I don’t really know a rate. It would really depend on how long you would want the lesson to be.
