Hello, fellow Clermont'er. Always good to see fellow triathlete enthusiasts from the area. Getting real busy in the area lately with all the new construction, but hopefully Clermont will remain the triathlon training mecca for the east coast for at least a few more years.
Bike actually looks decent, assuming there is a huge water tank in that down tube it overall looks quite integrated. Obviously the main question around beam bikes is the increased weight in order to get the stiffness as the double triangle design provides much more stability for the weight. My guess is that this bike is atleast 2-3kg heavier that the Trinity gustav will ride, with the forks, beam and disc brakes. However my guess is that the windtunnel would say its maybe 10w faster. maybe 20w at a push. On a fast course itd be worth it. However, Blu's position still makes him look like a brick wall. My prediction is gustav will ride the bike 5-10mins faster than Blu. Gustav is much more aero overall, lighter, better handling, better power. And after this he is the strongest runner in long course. Although he has been sick twice recently so maybe that will nerf him
Can wurf and seb kienle are the best bikers so they’ll push gustav too hard I think which will tire gustav on the run. If the top guys stay together on the bike it will be an equal match on the run I think which will mean it could be anyones race
@@jimjamthebananaman1 judging from both StG 70.3 worlds and Nice 2019 worlds i think Gustav is on the level or higher than Sebi and a lot of the big bikers. I dont think itd be any problem for him to keep up with wurf on a course like this. Mallorjca ironman last year already had a number of guys stay with wurf on the bike like Lson chavlier
@@jamesd5241 I remember watching him put 10minutes into the field on the bike in Copenhagen last year and would assume Wurf is at a much higher level coming off the Cobbled Classics season, than he was at Mallorjca. He has proven himself at world Tour level this year, he is levels above everyone else on the startline as a cyclist. Just depends where his swim is at as to where he features on the bike leg and whether anyone will try and go with him or trust that his run will be awful having priortised being a pro cyclist these last months. I can't wait to watch!
@@ollyole4560 i dont think his level at copenhagen is any different to at mallorjca. Its just that Lionel isnt very good at riding a bike compared to the real bikers nowadays
Conclusion remains the same: There is no need for disc brakes on a Tri bike... Other than the industry pushing them and the additional revenue from everyone having to buy a new set of race wheels.
Looks like you are staying in Salt Lake City area, with some of the cycling footage in Saint George? Be sure to stay hydrated in that dry environment. Lykke til!
woah, seriously? id be shocked if cam goes under 4:10 on this course. im guessing closer to 4:15 or 4:20 for him, let alone kristian who id guess will be between 5 and 10 min slower on the bike split
It's just horribly ugly, the brand will tell you that you gain 5 watts in the wind tunnel at 50 km/h 😂 by remove the top tube of the bike...in short, I hope they won't sell this horror . After that, champion like Blum can win with any bike👍👍
Totally a personal opinion, but I can’t believe how ugly this bike is. Between the new felt bike and the new giant I just don’t understand. I’m sure I’m missing something here, but I couldn’t ever imagine wanting to ride this bike
