Thanks Debbie, so glad you enjoy the vids. Stunning scenery is something Tasmania is certainly not short of. It seems to be around every corner. Cheers Andrew & Lisa

Great episode Andrew & Lisa, such beautiful scenery too. So glad you knew your limitations on Stacks Bluff, that boulder field looked daunting, especialy knowing you had to return the same way. I have done the same myself in Scotland as I am no rock climber either. Plenty more accesable stuff out there, safe travels David.

Hi David, Yes, we don't like to accept defeat, but sometimes you have to swallow your pride and do the sensible thing. We found the cold also really effects your abilities, and we weren't geared up for it. Like you say, lots of other options are around, and you live to dance another day.👍

I was an aluminium welder for SBF Shipbuilders in Henderson many moons ago. Great video but looks bloody cold 🥶

Hi Tracie, small world, I worked for Austal for 15 years and also did a stint with Strategic Marine. I took part in the Henderson closing time exit race many a time. Cheers Andrew

It is a small world I also worked at Austal shops for about 4 years, Wavemaster and then Trailcraft boats, when I was younger, now I just travel.

Hi Guys, I think we are getting accustomed to the cold but still dreaming of laying on the beach in Broome most nights. Might take more than 3 months for our blood to thicken. Really glad you enjoy the vids. Cheers Andrew & Lisa

I remember leaving antennas up on a certain ferry in freo once, hahhhh…!

That old wooden traffic bridge has claimed a few antennas, masts and even to odd luggage crane in its day. I hear it is going to be torn down and replaced.

Good on you for getting as far as you did. Weather and rocks would have also done me in. I noticed you didnt bring your sticks. These would have been helpful?
@TerraRoundOz
@TerraRoundOz Год назад
Hi Cath, yep we had the sticks, they were just tucked into the backpack for that final scrambled up the large rocks. It was a two hands and two foot job climbing some of those. You're right the sticks are a huge help, especially going downhill, we hardly ever hike without them. Cheers Andrew & Lisa

When you mentioned how cold it was at Stacks, Google Home suddenly called out something along the lines of, “better grab a jumper and make yourself a hot chocolate!” Sure surprised us - it’s not like you said anything resembling, “hey Google” beforehand!!

Loving all your adventures and finding them very inspiring as we head into retirement! My question is for Lisa, I see you wear earphones a lot…. Are you listening to music or podcasts? Keep your great videos coming, very informative 🙂🙂

@TerraRoundOz Год назад
Hi Dianne, I think she just plays loud white noise so she doesn't have to listen to me rattling on🙂. Truth is, she is listening to audio books most of the time. She has an overactive mind and the stories help her to relax. Also takes your mind off your complaining leg mussels. Very observant of you, and great question 👍, we're pleased you enjoy the vids and thanks for dropping us a line. Cheers Andrew & Lisa

You're never to old, but you also need to listen to your gut instinct and know when you have reached our limits. Good on you for getting that far. What amazing views though.

Hi Sharon, yes it was disappointing we didn't make the top but conditions were stacking up against us, so at least this way we survived to climb another day 🙂. Thanks for dropping us a line 👍 Cheers Andrew & Lisa

Andrew & Lisa, we are loving your Tassie adventure! Did you book your Spirit of Tasmania journey return? Or did you leave your return date open?
@TerraRoundOz
@TerraRoundOz Год назад
Hi Bernadette, If you are taking a caravan over then absolutely book your return journey when you book your trip over, we have heard several stories where people have had to leave their van behind and go back months later to collect it because they couldn't get it on the ferry when they had to leave Tassie. If you don't have a van then you can afford to leave your return trip open, but maybe not if you plan to travel in summer school holidays. We wanted to change our return from late June to early June, and you can change your booking online for no cost, but we were never able to get a spot suitable. In the end we went on a wait list and then paid $200 to make the change???. They have you over a barrel really. Hope that's helpful. So glad, you are enjoying the vids. Cheers Andrew & Lisa

Hello Andrew and Lisa. I have been watching your videos for the last few years and thoroughly enjoy them. Since your Tasmania trip you have dropped off the radar, 😟. Are you planning future videos? Cheers, Chris from NZ.

Hi Chris, really glad to hear you have enjoyed the vids. Yes, we did drop off after the Tassie trip, I just thought that after pumping out all the Tassie stuff people would be a little tired of us, so thought I would just give it a break. We are actually heading home in November after 3 3/4 years on the road. However, I really do owe all of our wonderful supporters at least one last farewell vid, I might even have enough content for a couple to wrap it all up. Your note has motivated me to fire up the laptop and make a start. Thanks so much for dropping us a line and I'll try to get a new vid up in the coming weeks. Cheers Andrew & Lisa👍

@@TerraRoundOz Thanks for your reply. Yes great effort all those years of filming, editing, narrating and posting on RU-vid. A lot of behind the scenes work. We have enjoyed sitting back and watching your videos in particular the ones on the west coast north of Perth. One day we hope to visit those places north now covid has moved on. There are other channels but not quite like your presentation. Good on you guys from Chris in NZ.

Very smart decision to give Stacks Bluff to the summit a miss. A twisted ankle on those rocks, low temperature would be a recipe for a serious chain of events. And as you said, your not getting younger. Those are the words from my wife, a serious tramper.⛑

@TerraRoundOz Год назад
Hi Chris, Yes, coming to grips with the fact that our days of immortality are almost over is difficult, but this one was a no brainer. I like your line, "a recipe for a serious chain of events" very ominous line, but oh so true, things have a habit of only getting worse in those sort of situations. On a brighter note, thanks for dropping us a line, we love to hear from you guys. We might catch you up on a mountain top some day. Cheers Andrew & Lisa
