Jessica I’m so enthralled by your vlog!! As a newer vlogger myself I’ve watched COUNTLESS travel vlogs, and yours seriously seems sooo professional!! I also tend not to like talking vlogs but you have such a joie de vivre I enjoy watching you. Seeing the island I grew up on through your eyes was so sweet. I never thought about how it looks / feels to someone not from America! I loved how you and your partner found so much joy in things I probably take for granted like large bags of candy (lol, so American) and drive thru Starbucks. America IS really expensive but Hawaii is even moreso because of the import fees I’d suspect. I also really appreciated your reflection on Pearl Harbor. My mom grew up in Hawaii (not during that time) and my dad was in the US Navy, so I think it might make me too sad to see it. If you do come back, I highly recommend Maui, which is our favorite island. The Lahaina fires this year were devastating, and rerouted us to Oahu for our anniversary here in a bit! Really enjoyed your video, as you are a delightful couple. I'm Canadian/American dual citizen who lives in California. Food got really expensive after covid. LA used to be cheaper for food than Vancouver/Toronto, now it's more expensive. It is really ridiculous when you think about it, as everything grows here. The only thing that is cheaper here is alcohol, which was always the case. I guess the US government wants you to just get drunk every day, instead of eating.
