Let's go on a road trip! We drive from my farm to Mossel Bay in South Africa, visit a few stores and pick up parts I need to start the 1951 Chevy Rat Truck for the first time. We also take a look at some custom trucks whilst in town.

We used to have full service, service stations here in the states, when I was a kid, about 50-55 years ago now, at least. People over here have gotten lazy, technology has made people lazy, you know? I miss the good old days. Badass little truck that guy had! I used to talk with this girl over there in some South Africa city, I don't remember, what city, it was a big city, but that was about 5-6 years ago. Anyhow, nice trip buddy! That custom International is a beast! I had one when I was attending college - a 1959 A100 with the stepside bed, same grill, and single headlights. Mine had an Intl 240ci inline 6 and a truck 4-speed. In our area we called trucks like that "Cornbinders" because they were for working the fields. Mine was a workhorse; not perfect but very VERY reliable. Sadly it snapped an axle when I was hauling firewood and I could not afford the repairs. Had to scrap it. Thanks for the great memories!🔥🔥🔥

Thanks for the ride Diff, that's a nice little town for shopping it looks like but I'm with you about living away from the crowd, your parts stores look well supplied with about everything a guy would need, we have a few around here but the bigger speed parts are a longer ride to the next town or something you have to order, I love the ride by the water but didn't catch if it was the ocean or a lake, I live on a river and that's plenty of water for me, the first dodge was around a 43- 46 and the international flatbed was a late 50s to early 60s, it's hard to tell when they're built for other countries because some of the parts are old stock from earlier models, couple of great looking trucks anyway, can't wait to hear yours fire up and make a trip around your yard,, fingers crossed 🤞

Thanks for taking us on your road trip to Mosselbaai. There is some beautiful country there. Canada switched from driving on the left to the right in 1924. I drove in Scotland in 2015 on the left and found that pretty strange, but caught on quickly. Why do some of your roads have double white lines with dashes? Midas in Canada is a muffler shop. 24.47R per L is about $5.14 for an American gallon, and about $1.88 per L or $8.58 per Imperial gallon in Canada. We are paying about $1.48 per L right now or $6.75 per Imp gallon. Thought our prices were high.

He he. I get you man. My wife is very clever and apparently there is a thing like a phobia for crowds. I definitely have it. On my lonesome in my little workshop is happy for me. I live in the United Kingdom and do most of my shopping online. I do feel for you man.

Yes, SA and Aus have a lot in common. That orange truck is a Chevrolet El Camino over here. You will see more about it in a future video...

There are a few full service gas stations in my area but you gonna 20 cents per gallon more there, than across the road at the self service.
