Looking forward to seeing if you talk about sleeping arrangements at the hotel. God willing my husband and I are going to spend the weekend away with our toddler (2 years old) and he's used to sleeping in a crib at home at night. Sleeping arrangements have been the source of my anxiety about being away.

This was perfect because I'm driving from Illinois to Florida in a few weeks! I'll be driving with a 4 year old and one year old for the first time, this will be interesting lol we are excited though!! Have fun 🐬

Kayla! The timing of this couldn’t be more perfect. We leave for a 9 hour road trip next week with two kids the same ages as yours. How did you know?! 😂

My son is 21 months old and gets car sick after 20 minutes of driving so this would never be possible for us. Even 1 hr and 15 min to see our families is stressful. I’m impressed that your kiddos handle the trip so well.

My 21 month old daughter is exactly the same! I really hope she grows out of it. Until then we use a lot of public transport (where I live, we have great trains and buses).

@@85Onne I hope my son will grow out of it too. Or that it gets better when he’s forward facing, but we are going to rear face as long as possible. I’m sorry you deal with this too!! I find those blue puke bags very handy.

My daughter is 5 and she still gets carsick. I keep her in her pjs because she has thrown up any time we travel early. Keeping her on an empty stomach for at least an hour helps. Dramamine works well. We tried the motion sickness bands recently and they worked! We have a 16 hour trip coming up.

I'm a 12 year old now but, I remember when I was younger I would get carsick. I've never thrown up, but I still get carsick, I find that looking up at the sky or looking up closing my eyes and moving my legs or justy toes helps a lot.❤😊😊❤ I hope you figure it out❤ and I hope it gets better for your son.😊❤

Hi Kayla, I have been following your blogs religiously now! I stumbled upon this channel and jut stuck around. I guess now I’m on of ‘the guys’! I loved this vlog Spl because I’ve been wanting to take a rod trip somewhere but having recently sleep trained my lo I wasn’t sure if it’s even possible- I know I’m ridiculous. But this gives me hope that we can plan atleast one trip this year. Thank you for all that you do!

This is perfect timing! In august we are driving to Disney! It’s 17 hours with a 1 year old & 3 year old 😅I’m not ready. We normally fly to Disney every year but I don’t know how I feel with flying with a 1 year old & 2 kids at the same this time around.

We do overnight bags for our 2-day road trips too. So much easier! Though last year our daughter sneaked a book into the hotel room without us noticing and it got left there. It was an out-of-print one so we're out of luck trying to replace it. Always triple-check your room before leaving. Road trips get easier the more you do them and the kids get used to it. Though I have yet to find an organisation system my kids don't destroy in 30 minutes. I just hang reusable shopping bags from the back of the front seats with their books and markers and such. It's the least intrusive. Turning around makes me super car sick so I would love to find something where things don't end up all over the floor for me to pick up.

It’s definitely not easy with 2 kids! I’m still scared for when we make that drive back to FL when we move back down there because we never had a long road trip with our daughter 😅 we’re also in Virginia because of my husband’s job.

(I'm watching this on my husband's RU-vid account because he gets the premium ) but I just wanna say I clicked this to get ideas for our upcoming travels with the kids, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching this! I loved your idea for the Lego and I was so amused seeing your face as you remember ALL the things we moms have to keep a checklist of in our heads lol... I also am so scared of bridges, haha . And we also have to get ice coffees when we're on the road, we're Canadian so we get Tim Horton's, and overall it looks like you guys had a really nice trip! God bless you! From watching this I feel like I'd rather have a camper to sleep in so we can go to sleep at an early hour and not worry about hotels... I find hotels make me shuffle around too much stuff from the car to the room and back and it would be annoying and my kids will likely lose something. take care!

Planning our first road trip with a 1 and 5 yo, omg your tips are so helpful!! I’m halfway planning!! We cannot wait to do this trip we have a 5 hour drive so I’m guessing is not that bad, we will stop in the middle for lunch maybe but thanks again! Keep up the good work with The vlog you’re a natural.

Hi Kayla, loved the overnight bag idea and also the water coloring book, do you have that linked ? Also, they sell these little bulbs you put on plants that helps them water as needed, I always use them when I’m away from home. Btw I love the color of your nails. Thank you for sharing all these tips, I’ll have to re-watch if we ever do a long road trip !

Hi Kayla thank you for doing this video. I’m about to take our first roadtrip (14 hours with all the stops) with a 2-month old & a 3yo. For the nights you stay at a hotel, I know you only do 1 night, but what do you do as far as bathing them? Especially when the hotel only has a stand-up shower!
@KaylaBuell
@KaylaBuell Год назад
When we stay the one night, we don’t bathe them. It’s literally just go to sleep. When we’ve stayed longer at hotels that just have a stand up shower, we get a plastic cup and use that to pour water on them so they’re not getting straight into the shower
@DiamondJoyJoy
@DiamondJoyJoy Год назад
@@KaylaBuell Good idea, I thought about that too! I just wasn’t sure if others do the same😜 Thanks so much for replying so quickly. I am also looking to get a pair of noise-cancelling headphones for my toddler, for when her little sister cries 😆
