Thanks Charlie, we are buying the CX9 thanks to your video. We tested other cars and had the CX9 on the short list, now we are sure its what we want. Cheers from Down Under
I was just like you, got stuck between those two. Finally bought a CX-9 two weeks ago, I love it, the technology on this car is amazing, it drives very smooth. Tribeca does not have bluetooth, auto windows, auto wipers, power liftgate, 20" wheels, smart card with keyless start, voice recognition navigation.
I got my CX 9 July 2008. weekly i clocked between 500 to 600 kms and a 76 lts full tank is not enough. If I used it the whole week city driving AU$25/day ($1.30/ltr avrg.) is just enough. Apart from that I was advised by Mazda dealer to use PULP because the engine rattles if I used E10. I tried to take it to the outback and got stuck in the sand. This car is purely a luxury family car for on road users.
I like the styling on the cx9 but I would rather buy a Saturn Outlook. there are real seats in the 3rd row and can seat 8. Also the handling is sooo nice (had one for an all day test drive) those who think the cx9 is nice should look at the saturn
hey we've bought the 2009 one it's amzaing!!!! u really can compare with the mercedes, bmw, and even lexus it seems that mazda is really getting along with the best
On November 18 2008 Ford announced that it would be selling a 20% stake in Mazda bringing its stake to 13.4%, and surrendering control of the company. The following day Mazda announced that, as part of the deal, it was buying back 6.8% of its shares from Ford. It was also reported that Hisakazu Imaki would be stepping down as chief executive, to be replaced by Takashi Yamanouchi.
@Dexerion It's a great looking vehicle. How is it on gas? Can you give a rough estimate of city mpg? I am thinking of getting one but giving a tight budget is wondering about gas mileage.
We've got 3 year old triplets, so towing isn't a priority for us. The MDX is a very nice car, but I thought Honda stopped producing them??? Would have bought one otherwise.
Got a 2008 Loaded except for AWD (no snow where I live). Bought it under $30k. Best buy for the money. Test drove others- Highlander (expensive plus add extra stuff can get really pricey), PILOT- boring truck drive. MDX - feels heavy and waaaay too overpriced. CX-9 has good car feel handling, quick, and tons of space. con-- need more storage and voice navigation..then it would be perfect.
Out of curiosity... What makes this a "terrorism-suppor(t)ing piece of sh*t?" And as for gas guzzling... The all wheel drive system is a bit over average on most all wheel drive vehicles.
ITS NOT AN SUV!!!!!i hate it when people consider crossovers as suvs, there not even like suvs,it dosen't even do anything that make suvs any different then minivans, they sould be considered as a crossover station wagon,or a crossover minivan, but not a crossover suv,its useless off road, and as pervously stated in the commentes below me there not very good a towing things!
Totally "Zoom-Zoom" The Mazda 'Crossover' CX-9 is now also available in Thailand where the baby sibling Mazda2 is selling like hot cakes: 2,000 units in Jan 2010. Dr John CarSanook (dot com) Bangkok
The car is very nice but the review is soooo boring this guy can make a lambo gallardo look dull...watch Top Gear and lear something about car presenting :)
